Yamaha YST SW012-Subwoofer– 100 Watt : Compact size but acurate punch

Compact size but acurate punch. Thats really all you need to know. For the cost that you can get them for it is the best product out there. Its size doesnt mean that its rubbish. Infact it has a very good and acurate bass punch when providing the bass to dance tracks and a very acurrate bass when providing the boom to films. It is an excellent bit of equipment and well worth it. The one downside is that it doesnt have auto on when a signal is picked up but that aside it is the best sub for under £100 in my opinion.

Nice simple to use good price.

Outstanding sound and easy to set up. Outstanding sound and easy to set up, also the price was also outstanding for in town there now is only one decent hi-fi store that sell this type of equipment and are well over priced people like curry’s and argos and maplin don’t stock like this thanks once again for this quality at decent prices.

Very impressed, matched up with my tibo soundbar no problem.

Excellent product good match for my yamaha amplifier.

Love the build quality and design, bass sound is subtitle and accurate – i do like it. Only reason for this product not getting 5, is the lack of auto-power off feature when input signal is missing. You can work around that but still, it would’ve been nice.

Discount price as it’s used, by used it was opened, not even taken out of its wrapping just out the boxbrilliant sub, it’s now loosened up and worn in, it’s super crisp and punchy. Have to have it below half for normal listening otherwise it’s over powering.

Very good performance, lives up to the reputation of yamaha. Very good performance for the budget, lives up to the reputation of yamaha subwoofers. Missing an auto power off feature, high inputs with low pass filter (only has a lfe input) and phase control, but you can leave it on as it consumes little power when idle and if you are plugging it into an av receiver then the avr’s crossover setting does the same thing as a lpf and the avr’s auto calibration function will correct the phase of the signal. The rca cable supplied is 5m long but is quite basic, if you hear a hum or noise when it’s plugged in it’s due to rf/em interference – change it for a shielded cable. The feet are stick on and very thin but can be replaced with proper aftermarket isolation pads. When compared to the cambridge audio sx-120, the more expensive and marginally higher powered sx-120 is a bit more tame and refined where as the sw012 is slightly boomier which isn’t such a bad thing for movies. If i had the choice i’d choose the sx-120 because it sounds better with music. As of writing the sw012 is much cheaper on amazon eu websites (you will need an eu to uk power plug adapter though).
