The marketplace is crammed with bluetooth speakers, but this one is a little different, built specifically for music on the go. The libertone one arrived in a simple white and minimal box, which is very apple-esque, an impression which is amplified by the similarly minimal instructions. Luckily the speaker almost sets up itself. It’s charged when you get it, switch on the power button and my ipad found the speaker instantly, there’s a double beep from the speaker, the single control button lights up and off you go. Volume is covered by a swipe of the control button, you can pause the sound with a single press and other than that the only gripe is that it took me a while to realise that the handles could be attached by removing the speaker surround to attach them – no instructions for that. As for the sound, it comes from both sides, so you will be standing it on end or using those handles, otherwise you are losing one of the key features. Sound is excellent, and for such a small box the sound really is impressive, and well up to the standard of the sonos speakers we have -plenty of clarity and depth even if it might not satisfy those who are addicted to bass. At £140 or thereabouts this is a very impressive unit, that can be used almost anywhere, because it’s splashproof and this has very wide appeal – by the way, the green version will not be to everyones taste, but it is easy to see.
Very attractive looking paperback sized speaker that both sounds good and looks good. The libratone one click is amazingly versatile as you can carry it, hang it, stand it or bag it. Its very well made and is nice and sturdy. The removable rubber surround gives addition protection against accidental bangs and drops, and the sockets and controls are also protected. It may be a little heavier than some mini bluetooth speakers but not much and the benefit is apparent in the superior sound quality. Particularly if you are using it outdoors. It was a doddle to connect via bluetooth. All my devices found it immediately and the additional phono input is a welcome feature too. I use mine for both music streaming and as a speaker for my mobile phone. So far the battery has not died on me during a day’s use (left on all day), and it is fully charged and ready to go again following an overnight recharge.
A straightforward, easy to connect bluetooth speaker. Sound is really good – fills my kitchen easily. I suppose it’s not cheap but it feels really solid and long-lasting.
This feels right, looks right and sounds amazing due to speakers on both sides. The claim that the sound fills a room really is true and full volume is as loud as it can be without distortion. Due to the weight of the speaker there does not seem to be much vibration and the bass and treble range is hugely impressive (as good as my bose soundlink mini). Probably too easy as no security code was required from either device (am i missing something or could someone close-by pair with the speaker without permission?). There is the option to attach a sturdy strap or loop which involves removing the band and inserting the attachment. Took me a while to figure this out as there are no instructions in the box other than those that tell you how to connect via bluetooth. Common sense got there in the end.
Firstly this product is packaged very well, has a very much apple feel about it. I wasn’t familiar with the libratone brand therefore i wasn’t sure what to expect. The design is very modern and stylish. I am not sure about the carry handle feature. When is comes to sound i was pleasantry surprised. Having only had bose before i was comparing to this and there is not too much of a difference, i think the bose has a little strong base. The libratone is easy to set up and connect, with a nice dial/touch pad feature on the actual speak to pause, amend volume and answer calls. Overall it looks great and would buy the libratone brand again.
The libratone too bluetooth speaker is a compact little gem. It measures 8inx2inx2in and comes in a variety of colours. The one i received is graphite grey which is almost black, matt and pleasing to the eye. It is easy to set up and use with a touch button to control volume. It comes with a cable to connect it to a charging device but no charger. This may be a problem for some people but i just used my computer to charge it up which it did with no trouble. I’ve also used my kindle charger and this works perfectly well. I like the sound quality very much. It’s not terribly loud but it is clear and bass and treble were well balanced in the music i listened to (dylan, paul simon, fleetwood mac etc). I also listen to a lot of classical music and it did well with this too though was perhaps a little quieter than i am used to with my current main system.
- Don’t integrate with Libratone Zipps
- Neat and smart, a speaker with a great sound
- Slick, simple,.powerful and elegant.
If you can get past the ghastly colour (thankfully it is available in other colours), this is a good solid wireless bluetooth speaker. The sound is loud and very full, real hi-fi quality. It was also simple to set up; it paired immediately, and connected without a problem. It is an added bonus that the handle can be positioned in various ways; there are extra pieces in the package to assist in this. One slight drawback is that, unless you are using the hanndle to hang the speaker up, it needs to be balanced rather precariously on its side, to give the full benefit of the fine sound. Even the slightest knock or vibration is enough to topple the speaker, and block some of the sound source. However, on my third attempted use, none of my devices could find the speaker, even after re-booting the devices, and fully re-charging the speaker. I have tried again the next day, and still the speaker is totally invisible to all my other devices. I can see from other reviews that another reviewer has had the same problem.
First impressions are good, the speaker design is appealing and it feels solid yet small enough to be truly portable. Set up is straight forward through a bluetooth connection so it should pose no problems to get up and running quickly. It is not a wifi speaker but it does have bluetooth +1 which allows you to pair it to another speaker for a stereo sound. The real test of a speaker isn’t the software, it isn’t the look and it isn’t ease of use, it’s all about the sound quality of the product. If a speaker was hard to set up, difficult to operate and ugly as sin and it produced audio perfection, no one would complain. This is 360 degree omni directional portable speaker, the design is such that the speakers inside point upwards and the sound is diffused all round by the plastic top cover. It works really well sit it in the middle of a room and walk round it and you will hear the same quality of sound in any place you stand. 5” drivers and a passive driver under the bonnet. The choice of surface you stand it on can have a surprising effect on the quality of sound.
This is a well-made, sturdy speaker. It’s easy to use straight out of the box and the bluetooth feature means no messing around with wires. I find the battery life more than adequate and i like that you can connect it, via bluetooth, to other speakers to create a bigger sound. It’s a very bright colour so might not be for everyone, but i quite like it. I can also verify the splashproof status – i took it on holiday with me and it got wet by the pool (i’m not that annoying person. It was a private villa haha) yet still works just fine. All in all i’d definitely recommend it, although it is a tad on the pricey side in my opinion so loses a star for that.
Ever since a friend of mine turned up on a group holiday with a bluetooth splash-proof speaker, i have been on the lookout for something portable that also gives a lot of volume. The libratone one is perfect for this: it’s small and light enough to pack in a suitcase or in a bag for a day at the park, but big enough to fit a 3′ woofer and 1′ tweeter. Set up was incredibly easy; my partner and i were able to connect our phones at the same time really quickly with the touch of a bluetooth button. You can also set up the libratone as a trusted device, keeping your phone unlocked whenever it is connected to the speaker, perfect for easy access to podcasts and music players. The libratone app is free to install on apple and android devices and adds extra features, but isn’t essential. With the app you can vary the type of sound, so adjusting the soundscape for spoken word, classical music, pop and so on. You can also connect two speakers together via the app, but one speaker is good enough for me, as the sound it gives is perfect for use at home or in the garden. Podcasts come through clearly and music sounds vibrant and clear. There is a setting on the app to deal with music that is heavily compressed (so, in lower-quality mp3s for example). The design of the speaker itself is very clean, with minimal detailing and hidden connections for a small analogue jack and for the usb port for charging.
Beautifully designed and simple to use, with a solid feel and high quality sound, almost an apple feel to it but slicker, a real conversation piece in the house. I hadn’t heard of the brand before but will buy again. And got a great price at £90.

The design of this is fabulous – it looks classy and more expensive than it is. The build quality is solid and high-end. The packaging is apple style and it would make a terrific gift to an apple-style loving friend or relative. The sound is generally good in the higher end, and it really works well with a ipad (or any tablet but i tested it with the ipad) if you’re watching videos or catch up tv. Battery life is good, connection is a 2 second job. A couple of gripes one large and the others small. It doesn’t come with the charger it needs – it does come with a usb cable – but it states that it needs a specific 5v charger. It charged fine with my ipad charger but took ages longer than the specs suggest it would with the right charger. At over the £100 price point i feel it should have had the wall charger that they want you to use – it would only have cost a small amount to include it but costs far more to buy one separately and it’s very annoying and spoils the premium feel of it for me at least. The other small gripe, that may in fairness just be a personal preference is that it doesn’t do well in the lower bass registers so the sound on some films and all rock music is just.
What a beautiful and versatile little speaker. It is packaged beautifully – very much like an apple device, with everything neat, tidy and organised – with clean lines and beautiful design. It links seamlessly by bluetooth to your device, whether it be tablet or mobile and, thanks to its downloadable app, it plays your music wherever you are – or allows you to talk on the phone. I love that aspect of it as it allows hands-free conversation and you can hear everything clearly. It works really well with my phone and my ipad and it is great to be able to access your playlists wherever you are – and share your music with your friends. I am no expert on speakers but i find the sound excellent and very clear. The options for hanging your speaker up are great as well – from the top with a hook or handle. My only issue – and it is the reason for the missing stars – is the difficulty involved in removing the pads (on side or top) – and replacing them with the fittings for the handle and/or the hook. It is, to be honest, a complete nightmare. I was afraid i might damage the unit trying to get them out (which ended up happening) but in the end i had to dig them out with a (blunt) knife and had a monster of a job getting them back in again.
I have the graphite grey libratone too, and very impressive it is too. I’ve tried it with an iphone and an android phone, and connection to each was easy, with no subsequent problems such as dropped signal. The speaker looks great, having a very nice design and colour. About the size of a large pencil case, it easily fits on any book shelf, though would be too big and heavy to carry around in most pockets. It feels well made, and the rubber handle and port cover looks strong. You can control the volume from your phone, although the touch sensitive volume control on the speaker is too tempting not to play with. The speaker comes in a very stylish oval box, which includes a high-class usb charge cable. This instructions are minimal, but sufficient and very clear. Frankly, the speaker is sufficiently intuitive and simple to use without them. The sound of the speaker is very impressive.
This slimline speaker is unassuming, you think something that small can’t produce a warm sound, nor cope on the louder settings without distortion or crackling, it’s just too small. We’ve had bluetooth speakers before from cheapy ones that are slightly tinny but ok for outside the home to an expensive ‘sound’ blaster that is great if you want bass but distorts as soon as you get a bit loud thanks to added bass. This is just frankly perfect and you don’t need two in the same room to get a full sound. The system has what it boasts a 360o surround sound and it’s true, i used this recently when decorating the house for christmas with my family and we moved the speaker a few times and no one could 100% tell (dad had a panic he’d knocked it over when he went to where he thought it was) as the sound threw around our open plan living space the same from each spot. The sound is rich and full even on ‘normal’ setting, interestingly it doesn’t start distorting as soon as you hit around 70% volume, it stays perfect crystal clea even on 100% which i found brilliant as none of our other speakers can manage that. The unit has an associated app (super easy- download, open whilst connected and set a password) which gives additional choices from easy listening soft mid ranges, live concert with boosted drum and bass to movies settings and clear voice for attaching when watching to programmes and several others slightly tweaked here and there. It was playing for 8 hours straight and only dropped 27%, i’m guessing with regular charging that may well drop over time but immediately it’s impressive. It charges via micro usb to usb, ok there’s no plug included but is it really necessary when very few people nowadays have no usb plug in their home for one device or another, and the person typical to buy this is unlikely to be a tech-phobic person as they would have to have a bluetooth enabled device to play itthis for us is great as we have too many usb plugs and also our cars like many modern ones have bluetooth ports meaning it can be charged when taking it out and about whilst driving to save ‘going dead’ when you have no access to a plug.
Superb sound quality and ease of use.
Currently using it for my playstation via aux.
High-quality 360 degrees sound
I have the zipp mini from libratone so i’ll try not to compare it with this speaker as they are two different products. At £139, the one is quite expensive for what is essentially a bluetooth speaker. The presentation is brilliant. Strong solid box with usb charging cable, a strap, strap plugs and a hook which detaches at one side so it can be fixed onto say a bar or chair etc. It is easy to detach the covers and edge protection so you can fit all the accessories. There’s a quick start guide as well. The unit itself resembles the look of a book. The rear of the unit has a power switch and behind the rubber flap the usb charging port and headphone socket (3. On the front is a small touch sensitive panel.
Libratone are onto a winner bluetooth speaker here. It’s packaged extremely well. Reminiscent of unboxing a new iphone. This copies the entire experience down to the minimalist user manual. However the boxing isn’t the only place it shines. The unit itself is a lovely fashionable green colour. I’m not a bright colour person, but i would have no issues turning up with this device under my arm. The unit itself is covered front and back in a nice caribbean green cloth. The outsides are a thick scratch resistant rubber. There is a touch sensitive button on one side of the speaker that you can use for volume control and play/pause.
I love the sound quality, and my younger brother has been eyeing this up and saying how great it would be in his kitchen, so it isn’t just me. I think the price point is fair given the market and the quality of the sound. As another reviewer mentioned, it can be hard to get the bluetooth connection to work, but after some initial issues, this seems to have worked out just fine, but this is one of the reasons for 4 rather than 5 stars. Another slight issue, is that there is no carry case, apparently if you want to transport this safely you will need to do so in the original box, which isn’t massively bulky, i grant you, but still no the most efficient space-wise. Given the price point, and that other similar devices tend to come with a travel case, this does seem like an omission. But overall, very happy, and good value for money in my opinion.
This latest bluetooth speaker from the scandinavian maker libratone is certainly stylish, although the sample i received in caribbean green would not be my first choice of colour. It comes beautifully presented in a rounded box which reflects the contours of the product itself. It was fairly easy to set up, apart from the second phone i tried it on took several goes for no apparent reason. It is modular in approach in that different handles can be attached to the rubber / metal frame. The click has more options than the style in that respect. The sound compared to my bose mini (which costs about 10 quid more) was disappointing. Rather flat and lacking in bottom end when playing rock music. It also needs to be stood on its end to get the best out of the 360 sound projection. That makes it’s a bit unstable unless it is hanging, which i think is a weakness. However it seems stable enough even when played at high volume – no discernible movement, so full marks on that front – and it hasn’t fallen over yet.
Powerful for its size – the modern equivalent of walking round the park with a boom box (this shows my age). A strong clear sound and rounded tone. Walked several metres away and the bluetooth still connected.
I am extremely impressed with this speaker and so is my husband who took it away to ‘test’ it for me when it arrived and has so far made it a little difficult to get a look in with the speaker as he has been busy carrying this around the house with him and testing out different music and speaker sounds on it for the last week. We have so far used it as a speaker for just general music from both phones and tablets which it handles perfectly with a decent sound and bass coming from the speaker. We have also watched movies on this via a linked tablet and again the sound quality has been fine although i must admit i am no audiophile. We have the one style speaker and there also seems to be another two different speaker types on the same product page (one click and too) and so if you are reading through reviews it is best checking at the top of each review for the small writing that confirms which style the review is about. The one style comes with a fixed rubber handle that is big enough for fitting your hand through for carrying. The handle is not adjustable or removable and so it cannot be hooked onto anything like the one click style seems to have but for our purposes this is not an issue. The speaker is double sided which i was surprised about at first as other speakers we have had in the past have tended to be one sided but this does seem to spread the sound around better. The speaker is a lovely neutral grey colour and i was slightly worried when it first arrived as it seemed to suggest on the outer box that it had been designed specifically for use with a iphone or ipad which we do not use in our home. I can confirm that the speaker is bluetooth and so does work with bluetooth enabled devices and we have now tried it with 6 different bluetooth devices at home to check. A beautifully styled speaker with two-sided sound and the sound quality is perfectly fine for general use.
Ultra compact, weather resistant design up to IPX4 –
Stunning, brilliant, amazing soundthe packaging is elegant and very ‘apple-like’, inside the box is this substantial speaker with a wonderful soft surface – a rugged cloth similar to what you would expect on a traditional loudspeaker but much more robust, and a soft touch rubber edging. Underneath the speaker are the accessories – a usb cable for charging, and a carry handle. In the lid of the box are the simple instructions. Basically, this speaker ha a power switch, which you press and hold for a few seconds and a tone lets you know that the speaker is on. Then all the rest of the controls are on the other side of the speaker. Simply touch the round ‘bird’ button and the speaker can be found in the bluetooth menu of your phone or other audio device. A system of flashing led’s confirms this is working. Press play on your phone (or other device) and music is there. Simply run your finger around the bird control and a rotary set of led’s indicates the volume is going up – reverse to reduce volume. Compared with a bose speaker of more than twice the price, volume levels and sound quality are equivalent , only directionality is better with the bose – an issue which makes this model fantastic value for moneypress the power switch and the whole thing shuts down.
Great sound, battery lasts forever and it’s beautifully made.
I wasn’t sure what to expect from this libratone one speaker as i have never heard of the company. But, i have wanted a speaker for my kitchen for a while and one that was portable to let me take out on family picnics etc. Whilst the weather has turned and the family days out will have to wait until next spring when the weather improves, this portable speaker was rather tempting so i gave it a go. I am not overly impressed with the colour but it isn’t so awful as to put me off. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder after all and in the end i was more interested in its audio performance. Out of the nicely designed box i switched on the unit and within 1 minute my ipod had found and paired with it. Suddenly it was producing music. I had the free app downloaded shortly after too, but was already listening to music at this point. I was taken aback by its performance. The bass is rich and deep and the units volume control (swipe with your finger to the right to increase volume, to the left to turn it down) was soon in use to see if i could sense any distortion.
I love it when it’s clear there’s been some thought put into how people will actually use a product. I’ve owned quite a few bluetooth speakers and none are as adaptable and utilitarian as the one click. First impressions:=============the packaging is simple and attractive. I usually hold onto the boxes of valuable electronic products in case i have to return or store them, so it’s always nice when they don’t take up too much space. The one click comes with a micro-usb cable, but no adapter, so you’ll have to use one from your phone or even plug it into a laptop/pc, which i expect would take a long time to charge the big battery in this speaker. The cable itself is braided and looks high quality. I’m glad it isn’t the newer usb-c standard, since i have a lot more micro-usb adapters lying around, which is important for a device that’s going to be used all over the housealso included are attachments for the lock and handles, which i’ll describe in more detail in the ‘use’ section. Design and build quality:===================i thought maybe the bird motif would be a bit too twee for me, but i find it charming. The speaker manages to look both tough and friendly, which a design language of rounded corners and generous plastic bumpers that seems like a mashup between appley-dieter rams minimalism and a toy intended for hard use by toddlers. That’s my kind of bluetooth speaker.
Apparently i did not read the fine print well enough. These do not integrate at all with the libratone zipps we have. As i wanted that integration. Otherwise, solid piece of kit but nothing super special that would differentiate them from anything else out there in this category.
Only states android and iphone on packaging, but works with my windows phone. Sound quality when playing music is epic. Sound quality when using interactive features over bluetooth (cortana) not so great. Sounds muffled and hard to understand. May just be the way the assistant works over bt but it loses a star for me. Was charged on opening, and lasted almost its full advertised time. And does feel rather light, so it really is ideal for travel usage.
This is a smart-looking, splashproof speaker although i worry that the cover could get grubby (best go for the black version?). Inside, there’s an 80mmm woofer, 30mm tweeter and passive driver. It sounds good, certainly up there among the best i’ve tried at the price. There’s plenty of detail and separation, with decent weight and richness to the bass and crisp, clear treble, although i’m a little less sure about the mid-range. Vocals are natural and there’s all the volume most people will want. You can pair it with two devices and fight over who gets to control it. And apparently you can pair two speakers with one device, for stereo sound or to have two speakers playing the same material. There’s a microphone, in case you want to use this as a speakerphone, and a 3. I’ve only run this for about 8 hours, so far, but it hasn’t needed a recharge (micro usb) which makes the claimed 12-hour life seem plausible.
Built-in rechargeable batteries giving up to 12 hours playback
For the sheer size of this unit it is very impressive. The bass is acceptable given its size but when you move away from it past a meter or so it’s fairly non bass music you’ll hear. It’s ideal to take anywhere with you and the battery is very long lasting, it came with 88% life in it and after 10 hours use required its first charge. Connecting the unit for the first time was a doddle via bluetooth and also easy using the libratone app for ios (even ios 10). Overall for the size this is very impressive, a bit more bass and this thing would be 5 stars.
This is just a beautiful product – seriously stunning looking. A huge amount of bass gets pumped out of this baby. While i’m not a bass ‘n’ beats kind of guy, it adds serious weight and gravitas to any style of music. The mids are very satisfying too (no mud) and there is enough sparkle in the top to make for a smooth, refined listen. Set up is super easy and you can tune the sound to your hearts design within the accompanying app, which is a nice enough feature. That rubber strap makes it easy to carry wherever you need your sounds and the splashproof design means i can listen to the radio in the bathroom very happily. In terms of design aesthetic, build and overall audio quality at least, i’d say sonos should be looking nervously over its shoulder. I have a few different wireless/bluetooth speakers (from sonos, sony, panasonic and bose) in the house and for the price, this beats all the rest of them hands down.
Having had the speaker that i used with my phone/ipod ‘borrowed’ by my son when he went back to uni this year, i was delighted to have the opportunity to test this. There are three different styles of libratone speakers – one click, one style and too. The one i received was one style, in cloudy grey, which is about the size of a clutch handbag, or radio. In design, this looks sleek and modern. Unlike the one click, which enables you to change the handle, the one style has a fixed handle. This is really a finger loop and you can only put it through the strap of a bag if you can undo the strap to link it through – obviously you can also hang it on a hook. The whole idea of this is that you can use it outside (it is splash proof, so ideal for by the beach or pool on holiday) and you can link up other speakers to get a sound system throughout your house, if you so wish. Most of these kind of speakers are cylindrical in shape, whereas this is more book shaped. The problem with this is that the base is not very wide, making it unsteady if you are out for a picnic and want to put it on the ground – although it is stable on a flat surface. It would be nice to put this flat, but obviously, if you do so, you are covering half of the speaker.
I really like this item and in terms of quality of sound, portability and ease of set up, this is a five star item, however, compared to some of the competition, even allowing for the build quality and sound rendition, it could be a little more affordable. 00 as at 17th october 2016)i received the too variant in grey and it now sits on my bedside table. I generally use it for linking into my blackberry passport via bluetooth (so easy to set up) my new kindle fire 8′ or my ageing ipad 2; there is a libratone app for both android and apple appliances and i have tested both and they are easy to set up and use. Sound is the key element to consider i suppose and in this case, i found the sound rendition to be very good and well up to the standard of a similar product we have purchased from teveco, which is not as well made but is over £60. There is no question that the libratone is a better made item, but sound quality is very similar. What the libratone has in its favour is that you can actually link two items together, therefore you can have the playing back the same sounds in more than one room; whether that would be useful for most people i am not sure, particularly as this is a portable item. Part of the reason that i have deducted a star is that the too comes without a charger; it does have a cable with a micro usb cable and the instructions state that a ‘good’ 5v usb charger is required to charge the item. Whilst i don’t need yet another charger, i have numerous chargers which have an output of circa 5v, but they all have a different output.
The build quality is really impressive with a rubber top and fabric sides, its not the lightest of things but when the battery lasts around 10-12 hours and a decent speaker you can understand why. The packaging is exactly like an apple product and even the instructions come in a white little packet like an iphone. As far as connections go you have a micro usb slot to charge the thing and a 3. 5mm socket to connect if your device doesn’t have bluetooth. Connecting via bluetooth was easy, all i had to do was turn it on with the big button on the top and search for the device on my phone and click connect. Changing the volume on my phone would then be indicated around the power button with little leds showing you how loud it was. One other thing to mention is its got some really cool like sounds when you turn it off and on, sounds like a pod racer from star wars. My wife couldn’t connect with her phone via bluetooth but my phone did and they are the same phone so couldn’t figure that one out so she used the 3. One thing i found was the sound and mainly the base would change depending on what surface you sit the speaker on, sitting it on our wood floor would make the base sound louderwhen i 1st got the speaker i charged it to full and the battery has lasted a very long time so far, i would say well over 9-10 hours at a loud volume so very impressive.
These speakers are ok – good sound quality, 10-12 hours of playback. . However, to describe it as ‘ultra portable’ is a bit of a stretch, in my opinion, when you consider that anker have a couple of speakers that are smaller than this. Not to mention a lot, lot cheaper. In the box itself, you get the speaker, a strap and ‘padlock’ style loop (so you can hang the speaker on almost anything – see the promotional video) and a charging cable. Considering the cost of this though, i was expecting a charger too. Connecting directly via bluetooth was simple, and i did not have any issues connecting via the app; but the reviews in the google play store would suggest that most people have had issues using it. You can change the volume using the touch-sensitive pad on the speaker or via the app. The touch-pad reacts well, as does control via the app. But sound – features aside, that is what a speaker is really about.
Play/pause tracks, answer calls and pump up the volume at the touch of a button
Apart from the price there is little i can fault this portable bluetooth speaker forthe sound quality is amazing. It has 360 degree full sound built in and noise reduction. . I have used it with both my iphone and ipad and it is easy to use – the instructions on set-up are easy to understand and operate one you have downloaded the app for your device. It is a handy size of about 12′ x 4′ and is not too heavy to carry around with you in a bag. Each charge lasts about 12 hours of continuous play although i have managed 14 so far without recharging. It would be great it if came with a plug charger rather than just a usb cable. The packaging is really good a strong white box that i am using to transport it in – and the speaker is solid and well constructed. I do thing it is slightly overpriced compared to other on the market at over £100. And a plug charger would be nice.
Really superb sound quality – i have heard things on some tracks that were not apparent on other quality bluetooth speakers. However i have some reservations about the so called 360 degree surround sound aspect but this is not really important to me. All in all, plenty of good quality sound from a small package. Well worth a try especially at some of the bargain prices available at the moment.
I have used this speaker for a number of weeks now (i own the cloudy grey one style option), and i really do love it. The rubber has a lovely soft feel to it, and the fabric seems very durable. Overall, it feels like a very high quality item. Also, it has a good weight, without being too heavy. The sound quality is excellent (i also really like the 360 degrees reflector meaning the sound comes from both sides of the speaker). I haven’t downloaded the libratone app yet (however, i will, as i want to keep the firmware updated), so i am literally plugging it into my phone and playing music at the moment, with no fiddling with the sound. It’s very easy to connect to devices via bluetooth (i use it with my samsung galaxy phone), but if you don’t have bluetooth enabled devices, you can also connect it via an aux cable. I do think the sound quality is very slightly better if you connect the speaker to your device via an aux cable rather than using bluetooth, but i believe this to be the case with any bluetooth speaker (i use the anker 3. 5mm premium auxiliary audio cable (4ft / 1.
I have been really impressed with this speaker. It comes in a well designed box and includes a smart good length usb cable. It doesn’t have a charger but i have so many anyway it hardly matters. Size wise, see picture where i have put it next to a teaspoon for scale. It’s easy to pair and can also be paired with two phones – which makes sharing easier. Sound quality is excellent with sound coming out from both sides – it’s for the middle of a room or group not the sides. Volume goes to a high level without distortion. Battery life is also excellent. The app gives additional information, allows firmware updates and includes some limited equaliser settings. Frustratingly you have to register to use the app.
Bluetooth speakers are a growing market these days and as the colour and shape of the libratone speaker proves, they really do come in all shapes and sizes. The initial colour and shape initially put me off when i first looked at this online, such is the flawed nature of internet shopping at times, however when i read the specifications i was impressed, when i received it, i was blown away. Whilst the speaker might be pricey, the sophisticated packaging really does sell this item as a speaker that is out of the norm. The speaker couldn’t be easier to setup, turn it on, and pair your device to it using bluetooth and that is itthe clarity of the music is absolutely crystal clear, i have product tested about 6 bluetooth speakers now and the clarity of this speaker is by far the best i have experienced. Not only does it sound crystal clear it also amplifies the sound. Often bluetooth speakers have a tendency to rely on too much bass, not to so with this product, just pure crystal clear music. You can also change the look of the speaker by adding handles to it. This is done by simply sliding off the outer rubber lip. Some of the panels can then easily be replaced so that a handle can be added to anyone of any 6 points.
This is quite simply a solidly built and impressively sounding speaker with a handle so you can carry it around. It arrived really nicely packaged in a padded oval box which contained the speaker itself and a small manual and charging cable. It is simple to set up, but works better with the app (available for both apple and android) which means you can have a few radio stations and a facility to tweak the sound to your own preference. The 360 sound works well, giving great clarity and bass from such a (relatively) small speaker. The speaker is water resistant to a point but not suitable for taking into the shower with you and it has a nifty carrying handle to give you a nostalgic ‘ghetto blaster’ feel. The speaker has both bluetooth and aux connectivity and both produce quality sound.
As stated in the title the sound from this speaker is very clean and crisp compared to other bluetooth speakers i’ve used for around the same sort of price range. However i must point out that that the bass isn’t the best i’ve hear but from such a compact speaker it was never going to be too powerful. The fact that it gives a 360 degree sound output is nice, so it can be placed in the middle of a room and moving around the room won’t take away from the quality of sound you’re hearing. It was extremely easy to connect to my iphone, a lot easier than some speakers are and the touchpad volume control featuring the libratone logo is a nice touch that gives it a more expensive feel and appearance. The battery life could be better but it depends how high you have the volume but it’s always lasted fairly well for mei’d recommend one of these to any of my friends or family.
Libratone one style wireless bluetooth speaker – cloudy greyin the box. The speaker comes in very stylish packing. The speaker is one of the best builds (without spending silly money) i have seen for some time. It has a degree of style with its understated design. Nothing what so ever to fault here. The drive units are twined so you get the sound in 360 degrees. It has a usb charging socket and a jack line in. These are push button on the top of the unit these are on and off, forward and backwards for song selection. Libratone have gone for quality in the design, everything about this speaker is nice, it feels good, looks good and sounds good. It has both bluetooth and wi-fi connection and it is very easy to setup.
Bluetooth speakers are ten-a-penny these days, ranging from ones that cost a few pounds, to ones that are pretty expensive. In our house we use sonos speakers (which connect via wifi, not bluetooth), but we’ve wanted a decent bluetooth speaker to use when staying away. We’d seen libratone speakers in john lewis and thought they looked (and sounded) good, so we’ve given the libtratone one style speaker a go. Libtratone is a scandinavian company, and, as one might expect from a speaker from that part of the world the one style looks quite minimalistic and chic. It’s light grey, and comes with almost no visible sockets or buttons, just a rigid plastic hook on one corner that seems to flow out of the speaker’s surround. 5′ deep and, unusually, both sides (front and back) act as a speaker. This means that it is designed to be used when upright or hanging from the loop; if it’s laid down, you’ll lose much of the sound. There is a single power button that you use to turn the speaker on and off; there’s also a round button that you use to initiate pairing on your device, and to control volume. If you run your finger around the button, this activates little leds round the button, and you then run your finger round it again to turn the volume up or down.
Gives a good rounded bassy sound that is rich and not distorted. Its easy to pair with smartphones and tablet devices and set up is quick and easy. My only negative point is that its quite expensive, but i think you do pay for quality. The battery holds its charge well and it looks sophisticaed and smart and with the added bonus of it being splash-proof what more do you need.
I have been using this for a while and have found it excellent, a decent sound with plenty of volume and no distortion that i have heardheavy solid quality, very easy to set up, although to start with i couldn’t see how to turn it on, i read a couple of reviews and found out where the button was. Not obvious until you know where it is, and no mention of it on the very basic instructions, once up and running i loved itusing it with my htc10 i have found it most enjoyable playing music from my library and amazon radio stations, battery life has been good at around the stated 12hrsmine is a grey colour and looks quite nice, i would recommend this as the best i’ve seen or heard, and well worth the asking price, an excellent gift i would think.
Much larger and heavier than expected, however the sound on it is absolutely superb. Doesn’t go massively loud to where you can hear it three houses away but it’s loud enough and has a nice bass to where you can properly enjoy your tunes. Was a bit iffy to set up, there were instructions but nothing to explain about how to take the base off (basically the unit comes out separately from the sides. Basically had to figure it out myself. Usb plugs into the front, a small rubber cover hides the port. While it is somewhat portable, it is quite surprisingly heavy, but has a lovely solid feel about it. Looks very stylish and retro like and old radio-like. Would be very stylish in a kitchen on a shelf. Works wirelessly which is the best part, can take it outside to a shed without needing the plug in. Bluetooth on ipad found it easily as did the iphone.
Neat and smart, a speaker with a great sound. I had to contact libratone in connection with a connection issue and was surprised and pleased about their quick and efficient response. Already considering another speaker.
This little bluetooth speaker is a great little product. It links easily to your iphone, is very compact, has decent sound quality (surprisingly good for its size) and is splash proof. The battery life is reasonable too. Mine is a dark grey colour which won’t show dirt too badly which is good as it has no protective case. It didn’t come with a usb charger either but it’s not really a problem as most people have several in their homes already. It would be ideal for a student at uni or a teenager. It comes in lovely packaging too – very slick and simple. Would be really fun to use camping or having a barbecue in your garden. It’s worth checking out similar products in this price range before you click the buy button – i would recommend the ue (ultimate ears) roll or the new roll 2 – these are completely waterproof, sound jaw droppingly good for the size and has very funky styling. It’s a little cheaper too i believe.
