Anker Sound Core Boost 20 W BLUETOOTH SPEAKER WITH Bassup Technology : Almost on par with Bose Sounds Link Mini 2,but incompatible with Samsung TVs

I’m very fussy about audio quality & i had my reservations about whether i’d be happy with the depth of the tones, especially mid range & bass. It’s fair to say i’m quite hard to pleasewell, i’m very very pleased with my anker soundcore boost. How such a compact speaker can reproduce such great mid range & bass response is completely beyond comprehension. It sounds fantasticthe general quality is superb too; it’s heavy & really solid with a lovely tactile quality finish. I’ve played with the sonos & bose & to my ears this is better & much less expensive. Buy one; you won’t tegret it.

After having had the boost for a month or so i’ve concluded that, it is a surprisingly capable speaker. I did think for a while that it sounded muffled and muddy when compared to the cheaper doss soundbox, which is kind of true – but the counter to that is that the soundbox doesn’t have the same bass depth as the boost (listening to bauhaus and 80’s u2 the rich basslines just don’t sound right on the doss), and the stronger highs and upper mids that give it “clarity” cross over into sounding harsh and brittle on such songs too. The sound core boost definitely does put more effort into the bass than it does the upper ranges, which can make it sound a bit muffled – adding a few db of eq at the top can correct this though (maybe cutting a bit at around 200hz too). With these tweaks it’s surprising just how full a sound such a small box can make – sometimes when listening in bed at night i forget that i am not playing the music through my floor standers. Obviously at higher volumes it can’t really compete with a pair of full size speakers, but then again i wouldn’t try putting those in my suitcase when i went on holiday (certainly wouldn’t be taking much else if i did). I’ve listened to quite a variety of music on the boost now, and it works well for most of it. There’s enough bass to give rock and dance music some energy, whilst offering enough detail and dynamic range for ambient and acoustic tracks to breathe. It’s never uncomfortable to listen to or sounds unnatural, which can’t be said for any other portable speaker(s) i’ve owned. 20w produces enough volume that you could conceivably use it to fill a room at a party, though at maximum volume it does sound a bit harsh (the bass boost feature comes in handy at these levels though). It definitely can’t replace a proper hifi with well positioned stereo speakers for serious listening, but it would be a strange world if it could – for portability at a well below hifi price though, it ain’t half bad.

This is an excellent little speaker from anker. I will usually try products like this when they go in the lightning deals and deals page. So i can’t remember how much i originally paid, but i was so impressed, that i ended up buying a second one to use at work when they went on offer again. The quality of the speaker is brilliant for the price, as is the sound. At low to mid volumes, the bass is fantastic. Much deeper that the likes of ue wonderbooms. I seem to have become somewhat a bluetooth speaker collector recently, to see how much they have come on i guess. But this is my ‘first grab’ speaker for city breaks and around the house and garden. Unless i know i will be going to the beach or anywhere wet, in which case i’ll take my jbl charge 3. Though tbh, the sound quality from this and the charge 3 at mid volumes, isn’t miles apart.

Considering the relatively cheap price i was impressed with the sound quality because i compared it side by side to bose soundlink mini 2 and it was very close to the (over-rated and hugely overpriced bose soundlink mini 2),that speaker costs £150+ (not worth that price at all in 2018 ) but anker boost is £50 or less, which is a realistic price for that kind of performance. The design is very sleek and modern. However i wish if the ports where at back instead of side, some people keep the bluetooth constantly plugged in, with this model it looks ugly because cable has to be inserted at the side instead of back. The reason i returned mine was that it was not compatible with samsung qled tv (or according to reviews most samsung tvs),it just doesn’t work, and i wanted an all-purpose speaker so i had to return it.

  • Pretty good portable speaker
  • What an amazing device!
  • Much better than I expected!

I’ve never owned a bt speaker before, other than the original amazon echo, so i didn’t know what to expect in terms of sound and projection. After some good reviews, i thought i’d give it a go, and it’s quite astounding just how big this thing sounds, when it’s barely any bigger than a can of lager. When i have the volume on the speaker at 50% and the volume on the source device (laptop, phone etc) also at 50%, it fills the room. If i then add the bass up option, it makes the floor vibrate like i’m blasting music through a huge system, and i need to turn it down if i don’t want my neighbours banging on the doorthe bass up adds depth and also volume, and whilst some reviews on youtube have suggested this option sounds good for electronic and hip hop and less so for rock/metal and guitar based music, i have to disagree. I have a wide range of music and i think it has a very transparent and natural enough sound that everything i play through it sounds as it should, and it all sounds great with and without the bass function. Certainly compared to the echo speaker, which has a bit of a soft mid-range, meaning guitars and vocals can get a bit lost. Everything sounds great though the sound core boost. Battery life seems impressive so far. I used it for about 5 hours straight out of the box without a charge or power, and it still had 2 of the 4 lights lit up. I imagine using the aux input would reduce power usage, so it’s great to have that option.

Sound quality: i had compared it with aukey eclipse & sony xbs30. Aukey had a slightly louder sound but missed the tighter bass of anker. On the other hand, sony had a boomy bass but missed out the highs & mids. Anker has tight bass but not too boomy and right amount of highs and mids makes the music enjoyable, could have a bit louder, not that it’s not loud my roommates have complained thrice battery life does not seem to be as promised since i keep the ‘bass up’ almost 70% of the time on, i believe it lasts upwards of 9hrs compared to the promised 12hrs. I don’t think these speakers come with the daisy chain feature which allows you to add more speakers, not that i need it but would be a value add there are no separate controls for traversing music, but it allows you to go to the next song by pressing the ‘play’ button twice. It remembers the last connected device and connects automatically.

Overall good look and sound, haven’t had it long enough to comment on the battery. Positives: good size, relatively light with surprisingly full sound and bass 6that will make your desk vibrate. That’s cause it has a very bass heavy tuning unfortunately at the expense of the mid-highs and highs. It’s almost that feeling of blocked ears after a long flight. Switching off the bass up unfortunately doesn’t fix it. Some eq on the media player can improve things but the highs are then harsh and unatural. If you’re looking for natural, flat frequency response this isn’t it. It’s a shame cause with better tuning they could have been perfect. Overall good sound for the size and price but i will be looking out for something better.

Having previously bought an anker soundcore and not being quite satisfied with it, i decided to try the soundcore boost – and i’m glad i did. This is so different it’s astounding. I’m not saying that the original soundcore is no good, for its size and price it is very good indeed and impressive but it wasn’t loud enough for my purposes and the bass not full enough. Also, it kept dropping the signal randomly for a second or two, which was quite annoying. None of these problems with the soundcore boost. The sound is rich and full with good deep bass and loads of volume and, so far, no dropouts. The bass boost is impressive giving a depth and strength of bass that has no right to be coming from such a small unit. It’s a bit bigger and heavier than the soundcore but not by a great deal – it’s still very portable. It also has useful additional functions like the ability to charge other usb devices from its battery, nfc pairing and it being waterproof to ipx5. On the down side, its battery life is only quoted as 12 hours which is half that quoted for the soundcore but i’m never likely to need even a full 12 hours so not an issue for me.

This speaker has good bass and packs a punch for its sizepros:it works flawlessly with my andriod phone, my ipod touch, and i recently discovered you can also use it with the fire tv stick. With all these devices it works flawlessly. The battery life is also very good. I only need to charge it every few days even with heavy use and it is quick to charge. Cons:i ran into several issues when i tried to use it with my windows 10 computer and i don’t know if that is due to my computer’s bluetooth setup being incompatible with it. It had trouble maintaining the bluetooth connection and some video programs would freeze and not play the sound. Just to note that i also tried other battery-powered bluetooth speakers, like the sony srs-xb30, for example, and ran into similar issues with windows 10. My mains powered edifier speakers work seamlessly via bluetooth with the same computer. Overall, i think this speaker was built as a mobile speaker for andriod or apple devices hence i rate it highly for the sound quality and functionality despite the problems i encountered with windows 10. I recommend it for a mobile device.

Some notable things to praise are its excellent sound quality, particularly in terms of bass but not to the detriment of the overall soundstage. Given its compact and portable nature, the sound quality and volume it attains are surprising. The material used for the top and bottom is plastic which feels soft to the touch, and doesn’t pick up fingerprints. Mine came with some odd markings on the surface but i managed to clean them. The sides are not easy to clean though. Overall, the build quality is greatnote that the central 3 buttons (volume up, down, and play/pause) are very ‘clicky’ and satisfying, but that the power and bassup buttons don’t have a satisfying click. Perhaps this is designed as such, but i cannot fathom why. There’s no way to know exactly what volume the speaker is set at, although there is an auditory signal when at maximum volume. The power on and off sounds are nice and subtle. Bluetooth pairing works well, and can pair to multiple devices.

Anker SoundCore 2 Portable Bluetooth Speaker : Love, love, love this!!

I purchased with the hope of finding a nice portable speaker that would be suitable for taking around the house and our camping. It works ok at lower levels, but when getting to mid – higher volumes i have found the sound to become distorted and slightly crackly. It is a shame as other anker products used have always been a very high standard. Pros:- nice design- small portable- reasonable battery lifecons:- sound quality not the best- distorted at mid – higher levelsfrom my experience a nice little speaker for lower music playback, but not suitable when taking outside camping with getting poorer quality. Update – anker have been in contact to review and provided an upgraded speak (boost model). This is greatly improved at higher levels and perfect for camping / the use i needed. Great customer service, above what i expected.

I bought this product & it worked like a dream at first. After a few months, i noticed the bluetooth signal to the device was acting up so i contacted anker customer service. Since the product comes with a long warranty, they were happy to send me a replacement once i’d tried the solutions they suggested. 10/10 very satisfied customer.(shout out to lena from customer service).

What can i say about this little beaut, apart from the fact that it’s blown me away. It’s small enough to go in your handbag, beautiful deep base, very loud, easy to pair (and i’m 73 years old) well made, and last but not least strong sturdy feel to it.

Works like a charm, battery life is really good too.

Excellent product highly recommend.

Anker SoundCore 2 Portable Bluetooth Speaker with Better Bass, 24-Hour Playtime, 66ft Bluetooth Range, IPX5 Water Resistance & Built-in Mic — Dual-Driver Wireless Speaker for iPhone, Samsung etc -red :

Totally fantastic product for the money, couldn’t recommend it enough to anyone considering a bluetooth speaker, sound quality is far better than version 1 of the product and the anker support and follow-up is outstanding.

Buy it, and do not think twice. Everything matches the price. However i happened to drop my speaker ones from 3 meters distance. So now there is slight ‘buzz’ sound on low beats. But, as far as remember the sound was great:)i contacted anker to ask for replacement, for which they replied that only factory defects might be the reason of replacement. And they also offered me 15% discount if i consider to buy the same speaker.

I absolutely love this wonderful piece of kit. To be able to listen to my favourite music whilst in my garden or with family and friends sat outside having a brew is great. People who have seen and heard it play are amazed at the quality of sound.

Brilliant speaker, amazing sound quality and easy to connect to. I have a beats pill as well and these to are exactly the same, if anything the anker speaker has a better bass.

Bought this speaker for use at work, home or even connecting it to my apple tv in my bedroom. Couldn’t be happier with the build quality, sound quality & value for money.

Love the colour and the sound is good but isn’t the best sound for the price.

Lightweight, durable and the sound was better than expected. Also watched a couple of youtube videos and they do not do this speaker justice. The bass was clear and heavy and the output is super loud. Have yet to test it’s splash resistance.

Sounds awesome, looks awesome and overall very happy. Can get really loud when needed.

My son loves this speaker, its compact enough to carry with him with a fantastic sound. Really easy to use and paired no problem.

Bought a black one a while back to see if any good, sound is very good but black shows up all the greasy finger prints on the case, daughters love this so much just bought a second one but this time in red, they now have one each and use them all the time, they pair very easy with iphones and the battery life is good though take a while to charge up.

I bought this little speaker as i was so pleased with the other two anker products i already own and i haven’t been disappointed. Really loud with bass to spare and no distortion at maximum volume. Love this speaker and will search for anker again should i need anything else like this.

Great swift service & met expectations.

Fantastic product my son loves it.

I’ve bought this speaker to be able to easily move it around the house but still have a good sound quality; it has been doing a great job until now. The sound is powerful and clear, inside the house or outside. I’ve even tested it on the beach, and can say that neither the sand nor the water have posed any problem. It is a great quality for this price.

Only had it a couple days and i’m in love. No need to go for a super high-end portable speaker, this is perfect. You definitely get your money’s worth.

I’ve used this speaker every day since i bought it and it’s been great. Clear high and mid range and the bass is good for the size.

Anker SoundCore tooth Speaker Portable tooth 4 – One of the best purchases I’ve made!! Brilliant speaker.

Very impressed with delivery and anker customer service followup. They make you feel like an important customer and always there if you have a problem. For the price the build and sound quality is excellent. It does exactly what it says on the tin. It deserves a 5 star but for one minor issue. The buttons on the top are moulded into the material of the same colour, dark grey. It appears to be designed for those that can read brail. I would recommend this company and product.

Brlliant little speakerthe packaging is very premium and unfolds in a quite cool and neat way. Inside the box was a nicely sealed bag containing the speaker itself and another little box containing a micro-usb cable that can be used to charge the speaker. The box didn’t come with a mains plug socket, but i’m tripping over all of the adapters i’ve got from other electronics so this was a plus more than a negative. The 6w speaker is surprising loud and has an impressive tonal range, providing a decent amount of bass and a very decent amount of volume considering its size. The speaker itself feels very durable and high quality, with a sort of rubberised feel to it. It definitely won’t be slipping off of any surfaces. The buttons on the speaker also have a satisfying feel to them, with very good feedback, rather than a cheap squishy feel, where you can’t tell if you’ve actually pressed the button or noti did have to read a manual to get going with the speaker and was immediately able to pair it with two devices- the speaker gives feedback through flashing lights and audible tones, so once my device had paired with it, it was obvious that it was good to go. With a dedicated bluetooth button, it’s quite simple to get a device up and running with the speaker. Again, without reading the manual, i was able to figure out how to get the speaker to tell a device to skip a track (tapping the play button twice in quick succession does this) and i was able to adjust the quickly. I did try making a phone call through the device, which also has a dedicated input for microphones (and an auxiliary input for devices like cd players or mp3 players without bluetooth capabilities) and the audio quality was quite crisp.

Really pleased with this purchase. It does exactly what i bought it for. Wanted it for the caravan, so didnt want anything too loud, but my other little speaker i have is a bit too quiet. Dont need the sound right up, but can have it louder if i choose to. I read some reviews that spoke about it having an annoying start up and shutdown tune. This is hardly noticeable, so not sure why its a problem, and at least you know it has came on, and the same when you put it off. Good quality sound for a bluetooth speaker, so much so, that my husband made me buy another one for him, so that in the evening at the caravan, instead of having the volume on the tv on loud to listen to in the evening, we can connect to the speaker and put it behind us, so tv doesnt have to be loud at night, we can hear it perfectly, with it just behind us instead. And not annoy our neighbouring vans x.

Personally, this speaker is perhaps not as loud as i was expecting, nor as clear – it seems a little ‘thick’ as far as the treble is concerned, but in respect of it’s purpose- in my case to enhance the sound from an alexa dot – this little speaker excels. Although the buttons on top are embossed i’d still have liked the symbols highlighted as they aren’t instinctive in the dark when i use it. Battery life is little short of superb and i’d happily recommend albeit with the couple of caveats above, which to be fair probably won’t bother a great number of potential buyers.

I am very pleased with the anker soundcore. It’s a great size, great shape and just weighty enough that to it can’t be easily knocked over on my desk (i am a klutz). Charged it until full when it arrived on november 25th and have used it on and off (often for a whole day) and the battery is still going. Very easy to connect to my tablet, once i synced it the first time it connects immediately to my tablet and laptop whenever i power on the speaker, although i do suggest turning the bluetooth on your device first before switching on the speaker (as per the instructions). Great sound quality, for listening to music or streaming on my tablet and laptop. Very surprised by how crisp the sound was and volume is perfect for my usage as i use to just listen to music on my device speakers.

I’m very glad that i bought this over other more expensive models i’d been considering. For my purposes, just playing music around the house or in hotel rooms it’s perfect. It’s certainly loud enough for that so i have no issues with the volume and to be honest, my musical ear isn’t sophisticated or developed enough to hear any ‘tinniness’ or distortion. All good for mearrived before the eta too.

  • Sounds great – would recommend
  • Great for listening round the house and took it to
  • UPDATE: Replacemet resolves most issues

I don’t know what this thing is run on, but it can only be considered magic. I purchased this in october 2017 and have charged it just once (when i first got it), despite its regular 15-60 minute daily usage. My phone shows that it still has 70% battery life remaining (although i’m not sure if that built-in feature of android 8. It is well built (as i have come to expect from anker), although i have found that oily fingers do mark it, the design is quite stylish but not flashy, and it sounds good for its size and price, but the battery life is far and away the strongest feature.

This is a great little product and very well made. I bought it because of the reviews. However it is a liitle lacking on the bass side of things. The bass is there and it is very well controlled but just not deep enough ie: level forty two (now showing my age) sounds good with that tight funky bass that mark king plays so well. Acoustic guitar sounds great. The sound is clear and crisp. So i now also own the sound core 2 with the bass up option and it does have much better bass although a little wooly on some songs. A combination of the two would be a brilliant product.

Absolutely love this little beauty. Pick it up and it feels ‘heavy’. Caress it and it feels like velvet. Because i have a monitor with dual hdmi inputs, i can connect this speaker to my pc via bluetooth and to a stand-alone dvd player via a short aux cable. I just flick a switch on the monitor. I did have some teething trouble getting it to work the way i wanted but this was to do with my lack of understanding about setting up the pc audio system for bluetooth devices. Once i sussed that one out it was ok.

Fantastic little device, packs a good musical punch, practical and an amazing battery life. Sound quality: the sound is good, quite rich and i don’t feel it really misses out in anything. I imagine the music connoisseur will find an issue with it, but for the general user, which i imagine most people looking for this product, are, then they will find no issue with it. It can go loud but you do notice losses in the sound quality as the volume goes up, which is expected, you won’t need the volume loud unless you’re entertaining a party. Battery life: this is no exaggeration but from when i bought this product 5 months ago, using it almost daily i have only had to recharge it a handful of times, i’m not sure what anker base their 20 hours (if i remember) from, but you won’t struggle with keeping power in thismicrophone: the device has a side mounted microphone which, in my experience hasn’t had great performance, but as i didn’t buy this device for the microphone capabilities i haven”t marked it down. Additional: i have recently started to use this connected to alexa, again the performance is fantastic and is a great speaker to have connected to your echo dot if you wish for improved sound.

Bought this anker soundcore to go with my echo dot in dec 2016 and so far it has been great. However 18 months later, june 2018, it developed a fault where the charging socket would not retain the cable so it could no longer be charged. I didn’t expect such good customer service from anker but it was exemplary. Within 5 days i received a replacement which was great as the sound is far superior to anything else of this size. I can’t praise their customer service highly enough. It can never compare to the state of the art speakers but it’s handily portable and so i can move it to wherever i wish to listen to music or books. The sound is excellent and without distortion even at higher volume. For the money this is a superb bit of kit. The temporary replacement i bought whilst awaiting the new soundcore to arrive was a very poor substitute in spite of costing more before being reduceddon’t think twice, buy it.

I finally got round to setting up the anker soundcore to my ipad which took seconds to do. Login to youtube and selected a few tunes to test out the soundcore. The anker is small which is fine and the sound was great. My boys thought i was having a party in my room lol. One of the best items i’ve bought this year from amazon. Thank you to the seller i am one happy customer and highly recommend anyone to buy this.

I’ve held off on reviewing this for a couple of years, as this allows any novelty to wear off and the longevity of the product to be properly considered. I’m as pleased with it today as i was when i bought it. It gets used in all sorts of locations, indoors, outdoors, on top of the shower cubical, in the freezing garage, in a humid kitchen – and it has survived without flaw. The battery life is good, the sound quality excellent considering its tiny size (a solid dynamic range for something so compact – it fills a space very well). In quality terms i’d place it comfortably ahead of smaller speakers like those attached to amazon dot or google home mini’s, but behind (obviously) things like the amazon echo (which have much more expensive speakers inside). I’d buy another of these in a heartbeat if i needed to. Which i don’t, because mine is still working brilliantly. Despite being dropped, covered in water and all sorts.

Received the anker soundcore bt speaker within the specified delivery date. The packaging of the product was also good. I am currently using the speaker for around 2 hours per day and must say that it’s performance exceeded my expectations. The volume can go really loud on the max. Volume and you would most certainly never need such high volume unless you are throwing a big party at home. Surprisingly even at the high volume, the sound quality is pretty good and doesn’t crack up. The device charges up fully within 2-3 hours of continuous charging. Once you connect the speaker to any smartphone or tab (ios or android) you can see the amount of battery charge remaining on the speaker in the notification bar of the phone or tab. I have used the speaker for approx 2 hours per day for continuously 5 days now and surprisingly the battery has only drained around 20%.

Took a while to figure out how to pair with ipad, (which is already paired with an anker keyboard) but once sorted (ie unpaired the keyboard, switched everything including the ipad and the bluetooth button off, and then back on again, and then did the pairing process) it has been working fabulously, and it sounds great and looks good.

You can lift it and just feel it’s a well put together product, which is nice. * good quality sound, and plenty of volume. * no issues with bluetooth whatsoever. I have connected it to android phones, a pc (with a bluetooth dongle), an ipad, a mac and an iphone with zero problems. * the battery lasts for absolute ages. I never really counted the hours, but i typically take it out for 4h or so every week when meeting friends, and it lasts for weeks. Cons* only one i can think of.

I don’t think i’ve ever really reviewed an item i’ve bought from amazon seriously but really felt like i needed to with this. I’m a university student who, which anyone who’s in a similar situation knows, has limited budget and room for a big stereo system. Whilst not an audiophile, i’ve recorded music before and know what sounds good and what doesn’t. I was completely blown away by this little speaker. From previous experience with portable speakers, i was expecting a lot less from the anker speakers. Everyone has a personal preference when it comes to an eq curve, but this speaker comes out the box sounding ‘perfect’ to me (for a speaker that fits in a pocket) lows are under control, highs are crisp but not too excessive, can anyone else not stand these big bass and treble boosts in most modern music?. Low-mids and miss sound similar to what i usually set on an eq. It’s loud enough, and stays clean up to top but starts to break up if you’re listening to a loud song at a high volume, don’t expect it to be the sole speaker at a party, but sat at a desk working or as background music, i don’t think you can go wrong at all buying this anker speaker.

Got this yesterday and so far the main problems seem to have been with the bluetooth link. Bought a bluetooth dongle to connect the speaker to my pc/laptop and to begin with it worked fine (a couple of hours moving around playing music successfully) then when i disconnected it and reconnected it i got the blue screen of death. Eventually after much webbing, i removed the software that came with the bluetooth dongle (cd download supplied with item), and it stopped crashing: apparently the windows 10 software for bluetooth was competing with the dongle cd software. Next problem was that when i turned it on again the next morning it seemed very intermittent despite trying power cycling and reconnecting several times, then didn’t want to re-connect at all. I connected it to my phone and it worked fine, so unpaired it and paired it to the laptop again: hey presto it works. (?) it also seems that each time you turn it off, you need to manually unpair and re-pair it with the source, which is annoying, but i don’t know if that is the bluetooth software as i don’t use bluetooth for much else on this pc, although my son’s wireless mouse is proper plug n play, so that bluetooth works better. So, in summary, when it works, it makes a pretty good sound with a reasonable amount of bass for such a small speaker although it’s not going to compete with heavy old hi-fi speakers with 8 inch cones, it seems to have plenty of charge to play for hours, solid heavy feel and nice casing, but has left me feeling that it is rather unstable/unreliable in connecting to the source. Hopefully it will settle down now but if it doesn’t it may have to go back.

Really great value, and fantastic volume boost. A bit too bass-y for my liking, but able to software tweak the eq settings on my macbook and iphone to compensate for most of it. If they could enable it to allow use of the usb to charge a smartphone, it would be an instant winner – bluetooth soundbar/backup battery pack in one devicealways satisfied with anker products, the one star knocked off was for the extreme bass – maybe it’s just my older ears don’t like it too much, but it’s an honest review, so i thought say it how i felt.

I have been very happy with my speaker and the performance is as good as i required. Not too easy finding out how to pair it up with my amazon echo dot but it suddenly sorted and it has been fine. My only criticism is the controls on the top and i just would prefer them to have been in white and more visible but i might be tempted to painting them carefully. Price is excellent for the output and worth every penny for the conversion made to the dot sounds.

This is a great speaker for its price point. However if you want something more powerful with depth and volume then i suggest spending a bit more. Packaging – the speakers come in a neatly packaged box, it would take no longer than 2 minutes to have everything out. This product comes with the speaker itself, a booklet and a usb cable (no charger sorry). Aesthetics – one of the reasons for picking this speaker is due to the design and ergonomic functions. This can be placed anywhere and fit in perfectly due to the small size – another reason why i chose it. While the rubber seems ‘odd’ at first, it helps with the grip which is beneficial for a portable speakerfunction – bluetooth is very fast. Once the the power button is held, it turns on and instantly begins to search for any available devices. No problems with this so far but only wished it had nfc.

It looks like it’s charging (red light) but doesn’t power on even after 15 hrs of charging. I’m going to exchange it, as it has very good reviews. I will write an update on that. I have ordered the second one and it works perfectly ok. The customer support is very good and contacted me quickly about the issue offering a replacement, however it looks like they have a faulty batch or some other issue that they need to resolve.

Build quality: fairly decent, feels nice in the hand and there are no loose or rattling componentssound quality: the output is quite good, although like most speakers it does start to distort at the highest volume. The battery seems to last but that is all dependent upon what volume you have it on, i haven’t actually noticed how long on average it does last.

Patented Sound Technology: Full-bodied stereo realized through dual full-range drivers and a unique patented spiral bass port.

Anker soundcore bluetooth speaker portable bluetooth 4. 0 stereo speaker with 24-hour playtime, 6w dual-driver, low harmonic distortion, patented bass port and built-in microphone for calls for iphone, ipod, ipad, samsung, lg and othersit’s by no means bad, but it does lack depth and some clarity. Reaches a decent volume before distortion though. I notice that bass is supposed to be an improvement on the second generation model so may be worth considering this instead for a fuller sound. While the sound may be rated a slightly generous three from me (with a bose soundlink mini at five as a size-for-size match), it’s a four overall because, at the price (£20. 98 black friday), you can’t go wrong – there’s certainly not a corresponding five to ten times reduction in sound quality. It’s a weighty (in a good way) unit, feels well-built and has a what should prove to be a durable soft-touch frame. For my needs as a rough and ready portable speaker for the workshop, it’s perfect. If you’re a real audiophile though, best save up a bit more and consider the soundcore 2 or the premium brands.

I’ve been a long time fan of anker products and i have never been disappointed yet. Each time i place my trust in this company i am rewarded with an excellent product. It gives a great fidelity of sound and can reach incredible volumes. I use this mainly for outside whilst i’m washing my car and it’s absolutely fantastic. You have to buy one to see how good it is really. I was very pleasantly surprised by how loud it can go without distorting the music. Battery life seems very good and charges fast. Don’t be fooled by its price tag, its equal to some very premium products i’ve previously bought. I will buy this product again.

This is the best bluetooth speaker i have ever used before and i have recommended it to my friends and family. It is really light and portable but offers really good sound and punchy bass, its surprisingly loud for such a small device and the sound it produces can easily fill a room. I’ve had mine for over a year now and the battery life is still good as ever, i’ve only charged it a few times since purchasing it and i use it all the time. It is quite rugged as well, its survived a rainy weekend at leeds fest and i’ve took it camping with me a few times as well. Definitely the best bluetooth speaker available for this price range.

Amazing sound, great sound, well made. I have a few anker products and they all seem to be pretty solid so no surprises. However after a few months of use ours has stopped taking a charge which is a shame. The charging port seems to have disintegrated; like another reviewer i had the metal band around the port break and the pins have bent to the extent it won’t charge anymore. I’m generally quite careful with my electronics and i don’t force the charger in (what’s the saying. It’s always the right way round the third time you try to plug it in) unfortunately the unit is beyond saving. A real shame as it was a really good little unit, i was impressed enough to buy a few as gifts over the last year. We are currently running down the last charge on the poor little guy.

Let’s be clear: this is good for a £30 speaker and that’s about it. It’s perfect for my purpose, which is sitting on my desk at low volume listening to the radio during the work day. If i make a call on the same phone from which i’m connecting it mutes the radio and i get a choice as to whether i want to use the phone, anker, or headphones to make the call. If you’re looking for great quality you should spend more. Personally, this is one end of the spectrum, and i’m going to spend a few hundred £ to get a great quality speaker for more critical listening.

I can say without a doubt this is the best portal bluetooth speaker for the price. Audio-it has a very clear tone to each instrument pumped out of these tiny speakers, with good mids, highs and the bass is very acceptable. They are not perfect by any chance, but they are still damn impressive. Bluetooth-bluetooth is very easy to setup, i have not experienced any lag/delay even with the phone in the pocket or being 5-10 metres away. Battery-well, this is where the speaker comes into its own element of expertise. Holy damn this lasts forever when just connected via aux. I use this speaker alot, i mean alot. I have managed to run it for at least 90+hrs without a charge. If you dont own a bluetooth speaker, buy it.

I found the sound on this speaker lacking in a bit of punch with its bass and so felt the need to return it. However i received some first class follow up customer service from anker when they learnt of my disappointment with the product and as a result have now got to hear the soundcore2 speaker which i highly recommend. Anker went out of their way to ensure i was happy and can therefore fully recommend them for delivering great customer satisfaction.

Groundbreaking Battery Life: 24-hour / 500-song playtime powered by a built-in high capacity Li-ion battery and Anker’s innovative power management technology.

I was looking for a music system for my kitchen when i was advised by friends to buy a bluetooth speaker to link to my phone. I knew nothing about them and was recommended this one. For a total technophobe it is really easy to use. Although it is compact the music is very clear and not tinny. I’m glad i purchased this as it give me much more choices than a static music system. I can take the speaker wherever i want to listen to music or the radio. I would definitely recommend this.

Sounds great, paired first time with my echo dot. Battery lasted 4 days so very happy with that.

Connects, plays, feels- all greathowever, during gaps in tracks or when connected to bluetooth but not playing music it intermittently emits loud crackling bursts or hissing noises. I am hoping this is a fault rather than a ‘feature’ although i have noted that several other reviews have noted similar issues. This spoils an otherwise great product as its not great to use, particularly at night or in quiet surroundingswill get a replacement and see if it’s betterupdatei was contacted anker with an apology and an assurance that they had had a small number of similar faults, and offered me a free replacement to try. I have had it a few days and the replacement is so much better. No signs of static or crackling even at high volume. They haven’t asked me to update my review and a free replacement was given without any clauses or conditions, so having go that sorted i thought that it would be useful to give it a proper review as an honest update of my last one. First impressions of the look, feel weight and finish remains excellent. I like the simple design and the matt black rubberised finish, even if the branding is on the large side, it’s a great size for packing and travelling, and the reported long battery has so far proven to be pretty good. Would have preferred that power and aux connections were at the rear for a cleaner look, but they are on the rh side- it is what it is. Bluetooth range is excellent; it pairs straight away and has so far remembered sources every time.

Great product sounds very good for the price. I would say almost the same sound quality as the equivalent as the bose system. Just missing a little bit of the bass response. The speaker seems to be very well built and has a soft touch covering. As far as i can tell there isn’t a skip button on the top of the device. The buttons in general have a nice pressure and click to them. There is an audible tone when the device is turned on and a blue indicator led that lights up behind the metal grill on the front of the device. This grill seems to be made of a fairly thick metal and has a anker logo painted on the front. Overall the device seems a good bit of kit and i would definitely recommend the product if someone was looking for a high quality portable speaker.

Anker products were fairly recently introduced to me when i needed a turbo charger for an android phone. Having tested that and liked it i decided to see what other products they offered and ended up finding this little gem. It’s fairly compact, lightweight and the battery life lives up to expectations. This doesn’t however diminish the sound quality as it has a fairly good bass and has its own adjustable sound apart from the device it’s connected to. Bluetooth is connect and play, just connect via bluetooth and you’ll have the sound streaming from your device fairly quickly. It also sets up to pair with known devices when switched on and off so once paired it doesn’t need doing a second time unless you erase the settings. The 10m range is also fairly flexible, working with quite high quality through one or two walls. Good if you want music in the kitchen but can’t bring the desktop downstairs. I was rather unfortunate and the speaker encountered an error during a song and wouldn’t connect to bluetooth at all. I then went through the anker website to request a replacement and got a very quick and polite response.

I originally wanted something smallish that could be carried in a bag for a variety of reasons (gym music, garden, out and about with the kids etc. ) and was very very impressed by this little speaker. I’ll be totally honest, i read the line ‘up to 24 hours battery life’ and thought it was laughable, but it really is true. I’ve been using it mostly everyday for around 4 weeks and have charged it only a handful of times, it just doesn’t run outunpacking and setting up was a simple affair, just took it out of the box (it had a little charge in already to get me going), pressed the bluetooth button (my phone found and paired with it straight away), and had music pumping in under a minute. For a little compact speaker it really does pack a punch, with the bass kicking (i mostly listen to dance music) and the crisp tweeters, the sound clarity is ace, especially at full volume which it gladly doesn’t distort at – no more fiddling with the volume or eq to find an optimal balance of volume and bass. The unit itself has power, volume up/down, play/pause and bluetooth buttons across the top which blend in to the rubberised coating but give a satisfying click when pressed. As my anker speaker has been previously paired with my phone, when i turn the speaker on it connects automatically if it’s in range which is a very nice touch so i can to work with music straight away, no waiting to connect each time i wish to use it. The bluetooth range is fairly good, about what you would expect from bluetooth – although i have been building at the moment so have been in and out of rooms, i would imagine a clear line of sight would improve the range somewhat – but there is an aux in (headphone jack) on the side, so devices without bluetooth connectivity can be easily connected to the speaker too. As well as the aux in, on the side there is also an led indicator with a variety of flashing combinations for things like, power on, searching for devices, charging etc, as well as the micro usb charging port and mic. The speaker supports hands free for phone calls and is pretty clear, i’ve had no problems so far, the playback pauses, the call is clear and the playback restarts after the call has ended. Simpleas previously mentioned, i’m mostly using it at the moment for background music (well, i say background, on full volume it’s quite loud, so you’d have to turn it down for it to be ‘background’ music), and must confess to accidentally knocking it around and dropping it a few times, but it is amazingly resilient. The thick rubber coating is very forgiving for bumps and scrapes and the solid construction gives me every confidence that it’s going to last. I can’t say anything for anker as a company as i’ve had no problems with their product so haven’t had to have any dealings with them, but all in all, i am hugely impressed with this little speaker that seems to have some sort of ‘little man’ complex, so obnoxiously tough and loud in such a small frameas a dj i like my audio and would definitely buy more of these, in fact i have, one for the house/garden, one for the kids playhouse and one for out and about in the car. The sound is solid, bassy and crisp.

Bluetooth 4.0: Instantly pair to your smartphone, tablet or to any Bluetooth compatible device and start streaming lossless CD-quality sound from up to 66 feet away. SoundCore reconnects automatically to the last device used.

I bought this as a space saver, but it’s very much more than that. Soundcore instantly paired with my android phone for superb mobile music outdoors. The build quality is excellent: very solid, with a reassuring heft. Once paired and adjusted, the sound quality and volume is better than some (much more expensive) wired desktop speaker sets. With my windows 10 machine, the soundcore paired as a headset rather than desktop speakers, which limited sound quality to ‘telephone’, but this is very easily fixed. To enable cd quality sound, click start (windows menu) >devices and printers >right click ‘anker soundcore’ >select properties >open ‘services’ tab >uncheck ‘handsfree telephony’ >click ‘ok’. This is a peculiarity in windows and not a limitation of the soundcore. The change takes about 20 seconds and should not dissuade you from buying this excellent device.

An incredible piece of kit at a fantastic price. Sound quality is rich and the device has a good range. Quick to charge and easy to pair with all of my music sources. Sadly, after a year of fairly continual use as i listen to a lot of podcasts and music, the device stopped pairing. I assumed that, at this price, the customer service/warranty would be non-existent. I could not have been more wrong. Within just two emails, one from me to raise the issue and another to supply requested information, a replacement was agreed and despatched. I’ve spent ten times this amount on other kit only to be treated like dirt if/when there was an issue – these guys showed respect and customer service beyond the basichighly recommended anker soundcore bluetooth speaker portable bluetooth 4. 0 stereo speaker with 24-hour playtime, 6w dual-driver, low harmonic distortion, patented bass port and built-in microphone for calls for iphone, ipod, ipad, samsung, lg and others.

Purchased this as a gift for a family member and i am blown away with how this performs. The battery and range on this device are superb. Comparing this to my current bose wireless speaker, it is considerably better on this front. The speaker gets suitably loud and for its price the sound quality is good. Don’t expect this to blow your mind from a sound quality perspective but it is considerably better than alternatives in this price range. As always, another quality product from anker.

So i’ve had this a couple of years now and decided it needed reviewing again. This has to be one of the best portable speakers i have ever used, if not the best out of any of them. The charge lasts forever and the sound quality is second to none. This has coped with several environments, it lives in the shower room most of the year so coped well with humidity. The rest of the time it comes along for traveling or when sun bathing in the garden/park. It’s coped perfectly with temperatures hitting mid 40s for long periods of time as well as winter windowsill lows from being in the shower room. It’s been dropped, bashed about in haul luggage etc and not even showing any signs of scuffs or damage. I have to mention the battery once more because it’s amazing. I literally charge it once every three weeks when it’s having heavy usage. It just works without issue and usually i only charge for an hour even thenthe clarity of the audio is clear, rich and also the bass is too.

Bought as an external speaker for my new samsung kitchen tv, which has rubbish sound. Easy to connect via the aux socket and sounds great. Loses a star because, when connected via aux, the blue light flashes constantly and it’s impossible to turn it off. ‘solved’ with a piece of black tape, but not ideal.

I bought the anker soundcore speaker for my holidays. Before leaving i tested it, although the quality was there, i decided it did not quite pack enough bass. I was able to return it and bought the soundcore 2 instead (designed for extra bass). Quite an improvement, although a similar size unit with 2 forward-facing circular speakers, the soundcore 2 also has a central bass-focussed square-shaped speaker. It gives a great tone and enough base for me now. I use it mostly in my bedroom and it’s ideal. Plus its easily portable and travels wherever i go. Living with the speaker few weeks now, i love the automatic connection. Just turn on the speaker and it automatically connects straight to my iphone. Also, when connected, my iphone displays a little icon showing the battery level of the speaker. That’s a sweet feature, although the battery lasts ages. As well as better sound and more bass, the soundcore 2 also has its micro-usb and aux-in connectors covered with a rubber cover. I’ve got to say, for the money this thing is brilliant.

I bought this 11 months ago and it’s an awesome speaker. Today, completely out of the blue it stopped working. I’ve always looked after it, kept it on a shelf in my bedroom so i don’t understand why it would just die. After leaving this review anker contacted me and sent me another brand new replacement speaker. Very happy with my new speaker.

Simply unbelievable sound from such a small unit. Shouldn’t be surprised as bought its small brother the cube and that sound was spot on too. Great for listening round the house and took it to a bbq recently and it stole the show. 1st thing i pack when i’m on my holidays.

I have bought a fair few bluetooth speakers over the years including bose. I needed something that was small and unobtrusive that would sit on the table in a newly built summerhouse (nothing like a quality summer to enjoy it). I didn’t want anything expensive as my intention was to leave the speaker in there. I did a number of searches and finally decided on the anker soundcore, to be frank my expectations were reasonably low, it’s a small speaker so wasn’t expecting linn type audio. When it arrived i was first surprised at its size, it is a neat little speaker and is very well made, i fired it up and connected my iphone within 15 seconds – no instructions needed. I was totally surprised at the sound that this little thing gave off, it’s hard to figure out how such a tiny speaker can give such great audio. The battery life as mentioned in the description is brilliant and you can look on your iphone to see current percentage available. I’ve connected this thing to my iphone, ipad and mac without any problems and it’s incredibly simple to use. I didn’t buy it for handsfree calls so can’t comment on that but when my phone rings it comes through the speaker and it’s necessary to disconnect the bluetooth when using my iphone to have a private conversation. Overall i am well chuffed with my purchase, it’s exactly what i wanted and also exceeded my expectations.

For the price, size and quality i give it a straight 5 stars. I am very impressed with the sound quality, for its clear, rich and warm sound; it has a superb balance of treble and bass and oftentimes hard to believe what comes out of this speaker for the small size that it is. I have sampled a wide range of music on this from pop, rock, folk, ambient, alternative, easy listening, classical, soundtrack, dance, club, etc and it’s a non-hesitant thumbs-up. It took me 3 hours to decide what speaker to go for, after having sifted through numerous reviews of various brands. The 1200 (approximately) reviews of this product are true to their word. Of course, you are going to get some reviews where customers are dissatisfied with the bass, but in all fairness, if that is an issue where you want bass to vibrate the entire room (and house), then for goodness sake buy much larger speakers (hi-fi and above size). Bear in mind the outstanding price of this bluetooth speaker; of course you are going to get enhanced quality when you spend a £100 and over, but for this little beast in disguise, i would highly recommend purchasing it. You will not be disappointed.

Anker Stereo Wireless tooth 4, Nice speaker – lacks mids, though.

Quality and volume are good enough for a device like this. But after 18 months the charge only lasts about an hour. And i used it for only a few hours each month. Anker, i’ve already bought several items from you. What can you doupdate: anker contacted and sent me another a3143 bluetooth speaker. The good thing is they didn’t ask me to sent the previous one, so i could keep both. Even if the charge on the first one barely lasts, it’s good i didn’t had the hassle and cost of sending it back and i will use it from time to time. This last one lasts for about 6 hours on the volume level i use, which is good. I will change the feedback rating from1 start to 4 stars because i appreciate the post sales support. I will not give it 5 stars because it had the problem in the first place.

I purchased this speaker roughly a year ago. I leave my iphone upstairs and walk around the house with this blasting. The sound is very clear even at full volume and the bass is surprising especial from such a little unit. The battery life is great, i use it all day at roughly half volume and plug it back in at night because after roughly 9 hours the little red light comes on the power button letting you know the battery is low. Iv never had the speaker die on me so im not sure at what % the red led comes on,bugs: sometimes the unit can get confuses and disconnect randomly and then reconnect after a second or two, this isn’t a bi issue. Sometimes if i press volume up or down on my phone the speaker does not change volume but will change using buttons on the speaker its self which is irritating but not a deal again,i highly recommend this product to anyone wanting long battery and loud clear tunes blasting.

I purchased this speaker as a bedroom device and for travelling (hotel use, not beach). I am very impressed with the sound, the build quality and the overall quality. It replaces a bose sounddock portable (moved to a different room) and i would say it is better sounding in a bedroom environment – the sound is much more vibrant. I mainly listen to bass driven music (dance, hiphop) and it performs very well streaming from spotify. It won’t shake a room but you’re able to tell the lows and they don’t sound like a fart. My main gripe is the sound when you turn it on or off. A simple beep would have sufficed. With regards to my use case, i think it might be a little heavy to cart around on holiday – it weighs in at 621g. I will definitely keep the device because i got it for a really good price in a lightening deal but – if you want to use it for travel – maybe look at the slightly soundcore anker soundcore 6w dual-driver portable bluetooth stereo speaker with 24-hour playtime, bluetooth 4. 0, low harmonic distortion, patented bass port and built-in microphone for calls.

Comments from buyers

“EDIT 9.9.17 Good sound ,unreliable product., Not powerful enough, but the new Soundcore Boost is a great upgrade!, GReat little device – pity about the in-built soundbytes”

I bought this to use with my android phone (oneplus 3t) so some of what i describe may be specific to that. Sound quality out of the box was pretty poor. It needed a lot of tweaking via graphic equalisers before it sounded reasonable. Sound quality is also very directional: if you’re up close but standing above it, you lose most of the treble and the output becomes overly bassy. It’s better from a bit of a distance, with the speakers pointed directly at your head. It’s prone to distortion, particularly if you have boosted the bass frequencies using equalisers and then play loud bass through it. It often seems to generate a lot of white noise when playing quiet music (or the noise is only noticeable in quiet sections). It’s particularly noticeable when the speaker decides it’s not receiving any signal and fully mutes itself. Once muted, it make take a few seconds to reactivate after you start playing sound to it again, and it has a strange habit of occasionally failing to notice that you are playing music. This may be in part down to volume levels sent to the device from my phone.

Really great sound, glad i read the positive reviews before buying. Clear crisp sound with good balance of bass. Easy to connect & looks neat. As good as other makes that are four times the price.Would definitely recommend without question.

This item replaced a sound bar from a competitor which i return to amazon because of a notable hiss, even at low or no volume. This item arrived well before the scheduled delivery date and does not suffer from the hiss issue. I use this speaker system with two computers, a mac and a windows 10 pc, i’m therefore sitting less than a metre from the speaker and the quality of the sound output is superb and meets my requirements totally. I used the bluetooth input with the mac computer and the aux input for the windows 10 pc. However, i had a problem switching the sound input between the computer systems, i either had to remove the aux input and then reinsert it after un-pairing bluetooth on the mac computer, or i had to switch the speaker off and then back on again, both of these solutions were not totally satisfactory. Following a number of emails to anker support, it turns out that this speaker system was designed to function with only one of the inputs, either bluetooth or the aux input, apparently the aux input was to be used if the controlling device didn’t have bluetooth. I had hoped there’d have been a means of switching between inputs on the device it’self. As a solution to my problem i purchased a bluetooth adapter for the windows 10 pc and i’m now able pair or un-pair the respective computer system via software to direct the sound output as required. I certainly recommend the speaker system to any one requiring to use only one of it’s inputs. I have dropped one star because of my switching issue.

After years of slowly transferring my cds to a hard drive & with years to go. I finally got around to buying a bluetooth speaker for the house despite streaming in the car/van etc already. A few days before buying this i picked up the best one available in my supermarket & loved it for all of two days. Convenience & lack of a dedicated stereo on the shelf was great, but after a while the inadequacies of the sound quality began to irritate. I decided to invest in ‘best quality’ & went looking for a bose or b&o unit then i spotted the great reviews for this and given the price, features decided to buy. I am utterly delighted with it. It’s as good as the sound from my sony stereo (if not better), neat, compact & powerful and whilst i do see reviews where people talk about a whole load of tweaks to bass & trebles & such things, the graphic equalizer on ipad or phone is plenty clever enough for my untrained ear. I like quality sound but i’m not a music buff or pedant. I can rattle on about this speaker for ages. Just take it from me and almost a couple of thousand of other reviewers on here.

I bought this for my son who wanted a portable speaker for his birthday, primarily to play in his bedroom, but also in other rooms in the house where he does his homework, and when he has his friends in after school. He has a set of bose headphones, so his standards are high. This speaker delivers on all fronts. It looks very stylish in its shiny black finish. It is easy to use, easy to connect to from an iphone, and the sound quality is second to none. It is of sufficient weight to feel reassuringly solid, yet it is easily carried around the house. If you were taking it regularly outside the house, i think you would need a carrying case, so that it doesn’t get scratched or damaged. I am really pleased with this purchase. Anker have a good name for quality and i think this speaker is good value for money.

I have had my anker wireless bluetooth speaker for about 18 months now. The sound quality has been impressive for such a small speaker, and the weight and battery life have been a pleasant surprise. The only issue is that ours has broken after 18 months of occasional use (~5 hours per week); the power light flickers and no amount of discharging or charging the battery has helped. I bought this at about £10 more than it is listed today and, with the exception of the 18 month shelf life, i’ve been incredibly pleased with it. Edit:anker contacted me after this post and replaced the speaker *for free*. I’m very grateful and impressed with their fantastic service. The new speaker is just as loud and wonderful as the first.

Really happy with this and the sound is a lot better than i expected it to be. No, it doesn’t sound like a top of the range sound system, but for the price and portability, i wasn’t expecting this. It doesn’t sound tinny and the quality is great. It also can get pretty loud considering how small it is. It’s super easy to hook up to your phone/tablet etc. To play songs, and i haven’t once had an issue with it cutting out or skipping when i’ve used it. Perfect for taking on holiday and i’d definitely recommend.

I bought both this model and the soundcore (version 1 i think) to compare the two. Overall the sound quality of this model has a lot more bass. Although i’ve found the actual volume seems lower than the soundcore. There were a few issues with it randomly cutting out even though the music was still playing. The buttons also seemed like after a few months of usage they might become less responsive however i haven’t had the problem yet. Volume was also about 25% louder over aux than bluetooth, tried with multiple phones and devices and the effect was the same. I think the audio quality is fantastic and quite impressive for the size. It also wasn’t as portable as the soundcore and slightly heavier. Very solidly builtworth the money.

Bought this as an xmas present based on the good reviews on here. I’ve been very impressed with the anker brand and have since bought a few of their products. This is a very solid feeling unit, you could say heavy. I don’t really have a problem with something like this feeling quite heavy as to me that indicates that it’s well made (or i could be getting well tricked and they might have stuck a few layers of tin underneath to give that illusion)no, i think it really is very good quality. It’s all about the sound though of course, and the sound from this is excellent. It pairs easily and it blasts out sound that’s certainly as loud as i’d want to be going anywhere that this was taken as a portable speaker (and if listening at home i’d be playing it though my hifi separates so wouldn’t need it. ) i honestly can’t think of any drawbacks to this speaker. It’s pretty cheap, it sounds great, and it seems to hold a charge for a few hours (though i tend to keep things plugged in or attached to a powerbank these days – sort of power supply ocd). I should mention that i paid full price for this speaker (actually it may have been a lightening deal but i wasn’t given a discount to review it). Well recommended and look out for their other products.

I scoured the internet for my first bluetooth portable speaker and this one had some excellent reviews and rating so i though i’d give it a blast. It’s 20w and boy does it have some powerful sound. You’d think something this small would be quieter, lack bass and power and not be up to the job, like a jockey auditioning for a part in an opera. How wrong i was, the passive bass is extremely good and you do get genuine bass and not just a bass effect, the speaker is extremely loud and it’s range is about 33 feet, the bluetooth sound is very clear and good quality and the unit is extremely portable. I’ve watched a few video reviews and comparisons and this one even seems to get one over the bose units. It looks great, it’s very lightweigh and setting it up with bluetooth devices is a doddle. If you can’t use bluetooth, it will use aux in, which it includes a separate lead for. I’ve not had to charge it after a few uses yet so the battery seems to be doing well. The unit looks great but the gloss finish on top is a fingerprint magnet so you’ll need to mind that. Also, the buttons on the top do feel a bit too squashy and cheap but the unit it extremely well built and sturdy.

I bought this 20 months ago and it worked well at first. Was good but it has no battery indicator to the phone. Mine died after 20 months and i contacted anker who just said ‘ you are 2 months out of warranty please buy a new one from us’they had no interest in any kind of fix or looking into the issue , mine now goes flat very fast and when you charge it the light flashes quickly. Tried a few chargers all the same. I wont be buying another one from them as that will more than likely fail as well and customer support don’t care the second they can get out of a claim. Way to stand by your products. I did love the quote in the email saying ‘even bose fail in less than a year’ what has my query got to do with the bose speaker?i guess i’ll go back to my xiaomi speaker which is 6 months older and still working a treat. 17after leaving this review i was contacted by another anker customer support staff member who went beyond what i expected and not only offered to replace the speaker but to upgrade it to new soundcore boost which i have been using for this last week now and it is a very good upgrade over the 3143. Better battery life, louder sound and a battery indicator on an iphone. My faith in anker and their customer support is intact and i will continue to recommend them as a brand.

The best bluetooth speaker of this size, i totally recommend this product. I first bought the sony srs x2, and was impressed with that until i heard this one. Luckily i bought the sony at a retailer who allowed 30 day returns so i took it back and kept this anker 3143. Considering its relatively small size (it’s the first thing i pack in my suitcase) it has an awesome sound and can fill a room with a decent amount of bass and treble sounds. It’s not going to replace your bigger 1 meter length sound bar systems, but if you’re looking for a portable bluetooth speaker this is the best there is.

I ordered this product after reading some of the numerous positive reviews. I didn’t believe what had been written by others as i am a cynical soul and just thought they were all ‘staged’ or fake reviews by people associated with this product. However, i received my anker speaker today and saw it for myself. I was struck by the weight of the item. I could instantly tell that it was not just a cheaply built product. It is very heavy for it’s size. I knew that this item was the real deal when i paired it with my phone. The beep sound that came from it was amazing with a deep heavy bass sound. I then played some music from my phone and just thought wow. This product will out perform your expectations by a long shot, even if you read my review.

Great inexpensive speaker which is sized small enough so it can be placed out of the way, yet big enough to sound good. Whilst it’s not the most dynamic of speakers and lacking some bass depth (which is fair enough at this price point / size), it fills a typical lounge-sized room with some decent sound. I have mind connected to an echo dot and the result is that i don’t have to have the ‘dot in the same place as the speaker and it sounds better than the standard echo speaker for less money. Found this a good, inexpensive bose sounddock alternative when i wanted a wireless version of my sounddock, although it’s not as good.

I’m truly amazed and absolutely blown away. How is it possible for such a small piece equipment to produce such a massive sound it can only be described as magical. I received this today about 18 hours after i ordered it with prime. Well pleased with the service. I must admit i was expecting a bigger unit as i forgot to look at the dimensions before i purchased but after unboxing and feeling the solid build quality of the anker plus loving the smooth slick design i immediately feel in love. The unit comes with enough charge to give you a taste of the amazing sound and incredibly bass once paired with a device. I hooked up my mp3 player in a couple of seconds pressed play, well. My face must of been a picture i couldn’t believe what i was hearing i listen to a lot of uk garage and house music mostly heavy bassline and loud, the anker was giving me the same sort of sound you would normally get from an older compact hifi unit with speakers probably x4 the size, the sound quality is very good and didn’t distort at all when i had the volume on full with heavy bass pumping out of the speaker. I haven’t had a chance to check battery life or connection range so can’t comment there. Ps, it will be coming to the beach with me this summer.

My family has used this stereo bluetooth speaker for nearly a year and wow its a cracker. This replaced out old and rather good sounding jambox, until it developed the 3. 5mm jack defect issue and refused to acknowledge or correct the problem. So buying anker with its excellent customer service reassured me should something go wrong we’d be ok, and its been perfect. This speaker is loud although not screaming loud which is a good thing as its very controlled with tight rich bass and balanced trebble. All in an excellent speaker with great battery life. Its still wearing well too considering the white colour. Its also a good step-up from this mono bluetooth speaker anker soundcore portable bluetooth 4. 0 stereo speaker with 24-hour playtime, 6w dual-driver, low harmonic distortion, patented bass port and built-in microphone for calls for iphone, ipod, ipad, samsung, lg and others.

This is good, regardless of the price. Sound is a bit more muffled than i expected, but then you disconnect the speakers from your tablet, laptop or smartphone and the world goes bland. Some notes:- the depth of the sound is incredible for something this size. – bass is there but not overpowered (unlike the vava voom 20 i also considered), and mids/highs are very good. – battery life is decent (4 hours with volume almost maxed out, 3. 5mm connection enabled)- speaking of volume, no way to tell which volume step you’re at. I’d like to know if i’m at 50% or 75%. – build quality is very good. The rubber foot is incredible.

I bought this to use with my amazon echo. In fact the speaker sound on the echo is much better than i expected and i probably didn’t need to buy this speaker at all. In fact the sound quality on the echo is actually a little better. Nevertheless, the anker speaker has a decent sound and being rechargeable will come in handy for barbecues in the garden.

I bought this speaker for my bathroom as i like to listen to music while i’m in the bath. Excellent sound from such as small unit, but not as much bass as i had expected from other reviews. However, it’s perfectly adequate for my requirements, and fills the room well on a fairly low setting. The charging cable is ridiculously short – it’s only 60cm in total, which means in my home, i’m limited to which plugs/ surfaces i can use to charge it. I’m not sure how accurate the claim of 24 hours of usage is, as even as it’s only used when i’m in the bath, there have been a couple of times the battery low light has illuminated when i’ve switched it on, even though there’s not been 24 hours of play since last charge. I feel a reduction of a star rating is appropriate for these two points, which are minor, but still annoying.

I bought this to replace a logitech 2. 1 speaker in my kitchen, that i have a dab radio plugged into. 1 speaker is rather large and ugly, so i thought i’d tidy the setup up with a neat and hopefully good sounding bluetooth speaker. Well it looks a lot better than the logitech, but the sound is really rather disappointing compared to the logitech 2. I think i must have been swayed by the zillions of glowing reviews here for this speaker. Edit: after leaving the above review anker customer support emailed me and asked what i didn’t like about this speaker, and kindly offered to send me a replacement. I got the replacement and in a blindfolded test with two other people listened to them both.

*update*after having some communication with anker because they were concerned about the problems i had with their speaker they decided to send me out a replacement as they try the best to help their customers with any problems they may have. I got the replacement speaker and i gave it a good test and this time the speaker worked perfect paired up with all my phones the sound was very good a nice bit of bass also some people talk about the bose mini soundlink ii and try to compare the anker speaker they are two different speakers for the price you pretty much can’t get a speaker this good yes you can go and buy a bose or jbl and i have a jbl charge 2+ and i also had a bose mini soundlink ii and send that back these two speakers cost far more that the anker speaker so remember that before you judge. I want to say a big thank you to anker customer service for the all the help to sort my problems a top company and with a top customer service. *first speaker*i was really looking forward to getting this speaker heard a lot about it and i missed out on the last special deal they had on this item. Unfortunately there’s nothing good i can say about the item it just wouldn’t work i tried all day and night to get it to pair with my samsung galaxy s3 & s5 phones it just wouldn’t have it even when i connected the speaker with an audio cable the sound would cut out from time to time so i would have to fiddle with the audio cable. I’ve brought various anker products in the past and that’s why i went for this item on the strength of that but it was a big let down.

Anker SoundCore tooth Speaker Portable tooth 4 : A Beast in Disguise!

Sounds great, paired first time with my echo dot. Battery lasted 4 days so very happy with that.

Simply unbelievable sound from such a small unit. Shouldn’t be surprised as bought its small brother the cube and that sound was spot on too. Great for listening round the house and took it to a bbq recently and it stole the show. 1st thing i pack when i’m on my holidays.

  • Sounds great – would recommend

Really great value, and fantastic volume boost. A bit too bass-y for my liking, but able to software tweak the eq settings on my macbook and iphone to compensate for most of it. If they could enable it to allow use of the usb to charge a smartphone, it would be an instant winner – bluetooth soundbar/backup battery pack in one devicealways satisfied with anker products, the one star knocked off was for the extreme bass – maybe it’s just my older ears don’t like it too much, but it’s an honest review, so i thought say it how i felt.

An amazing piece of hardware, really surprised at how good this speaker is at such a low price. Both the highs and lows are very clear and audible in most cases, the strong bass and clean highs are the best you’re going to get at this price point. It’s really simple to use and setup, i’m pretty happy that it doesn’t speak to you like other soundbars do. The only issue i has was the sound via the 3. 5mm trs input is not as good, a huge loss in sound by my standards, but that might not be the case for everyone.

Bought as an external speaker for my new samsung kitchen tv, which has rubbish sound. Easy to connect via the aux socket and sounds great. Loses a star because, when connected via aux, the blue light flashes constantly and it’s impossible to turn it off. ‘solved’ with a piece of black tape, but not ideal.

tooth Speaker – Great speaker works excellently with my Echo Dot

Sometimes i hate that it sleeps when not used. Sometimes i hate that it sleeps when not used. Because u need to restart when u need to play music again and again. But very satisfied for the sound quality.I searched for almost all top rated portable speaker for a couple of days then finally chose this anker.

This is such a beautiful shade of baby pinkbut this seriously amazes me. Sooo easy to connect to anything, work and use. The sound is so loud and perfect. Everything about this speaker is perfect, the look, how to use it, how well it works, the sound quality and everything.

He said he loves the fact the bass is good as well as a lot of speakers don’t have. I had no idea what i was getting here for my son other than that it was a portable speaker. He’s opened the pressie, he’s used the speaker and he loves it 🙂 from a 19yr old who does have a clue about this kind of thing, that’s praise indeed. He said he loves the fact the bass is good as well as a lot of speakers don’t have that and the sound is very good (even i could tell those things 🙂 ).

‘big sound, little box’ best describes this speaker. I am very impressed with teh speaker technolgy in this little box. It really is amaxing for its size. I have bought three different anker speakers (one for each kid and one for myself) and they are all really good. Pros:-smalllightweightcharge lasts a long timesound quality very goodbass range very gooddistortion – minimal (even at volume)cons:-the round shape does not pack as well as the squared anker speakers.

Very impressed, bought this for my son. It arrived quickly and looks far smarter than the pictures. It paired easily with everything we tried, sound is impressive for such a small device. The radio works well if a bit fiddly due to no screen but found all the stations we use. Only tiny issue if you can call it that is the power lead is a very tight fit.

Reviews from purchasers :

  • Really impressive sound given the size and price. Good quality product. Highly recommended as a portable speaker
  • great little speaker
  • Keep your expectations in checkand you will love it!

I bought this for my son and its absolutely fantastic the sound is unbelievable coming from such speaker each. I bought this for my son and its absolutely fantastic the sound is unbelievable coming from such speaker each piece of music was clear and crisp base sounds great too my son is so pleased he wants to buy another. Compact speaker big sound excellant.

Soundcore mini, sonically competent metal marvel. . 5 stars all the way for this product, clear sound, good bass definition, premium quality construction and they please the eye, what more can you ask for at this price point. The anker soundcore mini is a big sounding mini speaker that will keep you happy by pumping out your tunes at a good volume and excellent audio clarity if fed the right signals, i used a headphone audio splitter and fed the signal to 2 soundcore mini’s from my phone, wow. i am still amazed at what i hear from these speakers every time i use them, i can not praise this product enough, thanks anker for bringing this product into the world, it deserves the good reviews it has received, excellent product.

Great speaker works excellently with my echo dot. For it’s size its quite loud, i use mine with my echo dot speaker, for under £70 i now have a full fat echo device. Bass is nice and punchy, and the sound sounds full, even at full volume there is no distortion.

For the size it does boom out the sounds. My only criticism is the radio function as its rubbish and i could not find any stations but i didn’t buy it for that and can get internet radio using my paired phone anyway.

I do not like working at a screen with internal speakers. Just what i needed when running internet radio stations on my mac. I do not like working at a screen with internal speakers. I have used a radio app to connect to classical music stations in france italy and usa. I position the anker about three metres away, on a bookshelf, for background music.

Excellent, as with everything anker i have ever purchased. This is much smaller than i’d anticipated (7cm high, 6cm diameter) – tiny but mighty. Took quite a long time to pair to my laptop (no idea why) but once achieved i was impressed, great bass for its size, and i will be ordering more and from the same seller.

My first impressions, of this bluetooth speaker is amazing i read all reviews bout this item which were all positive but maintained a view of i’ll see for myself with my expectations being as long as it sound’s reasonable thats fine with me but it’s actually better than all i had predicted that said only time will tell if it’s lifespan will last as long as it’s cosmetic and functional offerings so at this stage i’ll give it 5 stars based on its looks robustness and sound and in meantime keep my fingers crossed.

The speaker was bought as a christmas gift for my son who is very pleased with it. I have also had the chance to listen to it and found the sound quality to be very good considering it’s size and the volume is also really good and i’m sure it would fill any room. It would not only be perfect as a travel speaker due to it’s size but equally as good in the home as well.

Perfect for my audio books. . I own a bose soundcolour speaker which i use for music and is not comparable to this device due to the price being 8 times higher. I purchased the soundcore mini for work use and audio book listening due to its small size, and for this its perfect. The speaker is of metal and plastic construction, has no exposed speaker parts and has a proper clicky power switch all of which means it can be stored in a bag without fear of damage or being turned on accidentally. Sound wise it is a mixed bag, due to the small size there is limited bass, the treble is controlled pretty well and it is pretty loud. Acoustic and vocal music sound good, r&b and rock however sound weak. Audio books sound absolutely brilliant on this and it actually beats the bose in this. Audio books is pretty much what i use this for exclusively now. It can move around my home, fits in the cup holders of my car and can even be squeezed into a loose pocket. Spoken voice unlike some music sounds full and rich without being boomy and due to being an upward firing speaker the sound dispenses into a room well.

I was really quite surprised and impressed withis little portable speaker, for 17 pounds it has a lot of punch for your money. I bought it to play music in my bathroom through the very reliable bluetooth. Sound is good quality on all volumes.

Only used it for an hour or two and i’m really surprised how good it soundsstreamed spotify from my phone via bluetooth no problem, connected instantly. Bought for hotel rooms and occasional use in the garden so does not need extreme volume, although it does go pretty loudwill use all the facilities and particularly like the aux input which is handy to connect a creative zen player. Fm radio is a great bonus also.

It has only just arrived but already i’m impressed. It is very small, beautifully made, and very tactile. A nice balance of form and function too, as the sound that comes out of it is amazingly good. I haven’t tried the bluetooth, as i only want it as an external speaker for my pocket dab radio and my mp3 player. It produces great sound from both of those. Early days but i love it so far.

Soundcore mini, sonically competent metal marvel. . 5 stars all the way for this product, clear sound, good bass definition, premium quality construction and they please the eye, what more can you ask for at this price point. The anker soundcore mini is a big sounding mini speaker that will keep you happy by pumping out your tunes at a good volume and excellent audio clarity if fed the right signals, i used a headphone audio splitter and fed the signal to 2 soundcore mini’s from my phone, wow. i am still amazed at what i hear from these speakers every time i use them, i can not praise this product enough, thanks anker for bringing this product into the world, it deserves the good reviews it has received, excellent product.

tooth Speaker – Perfect for my audio books.

Another great anker product. I have bought various items from the anker company and have never been let down – cables, battery packs etc. This speaker is well made , holds a good charge and links seamlessly to my apple products (phone & macbook). The only issue is if both devices are switched on with bluetooth then the device you want to connect may not – but thats down to me to sort out. The only way to improve it would be to have separate volume controls as the buttons are multi-function so keep your finger on the volume and it jumps tracks instead. For £20 though i can’t complain.

Fantastic speaker at a fantastic price. This is a fantastic product as many other reviews confirm – amazing sound from such a little speaker. Wanted something small to play music in the kitchen via bluetooth from ipad/iphone. I do own a very expensive wifi speaker which is great but didn’t want to put it in the kitchen. Was prepared to spend a lot of money but couldn’t resist taking a chance on this anker soundcore mini due to other reviews and price. So easy to connect to and battery lasts for ages. Very small footprint but also very sturdy.

I previously bought a larger one which we used in the garden and then saw this mini advertised it’s worth every penny so much so my nephew was so impressed i’ve just purchased him one for christmas it has the most amazing sound it’s crystal clear and the sound can fill quite a large room, with this size it has the added beauty of almost fitting in your pocket on days out and brilliant for taking abroad on holiday.

And having looked at a lot of speakers like this over the last couple of days. Ordered yesterday, delivered today, having read the current reviews on this speaker, and having looked at a lot of speakers like this over the last couple of days, it has not disappointed, the quality and sound of this small dome speaker is unbelievable, excellent value for money, would recommend.

Sometimes i hate that it sleeps when not used. Sometimes i hate that it sleeps when not used. Because u need to restart when u need to play music again and again. But very satisfied for the sound quality.I searched for almost all top rated portable speaker for a couple of days then finally chose this anker.

This little speaker is brilliant in my opinion. For the price you couldn’t do better. Sound quality is excellent for me. When i play music through my iphone it’s a bit tinny but through the anker speaker it’s great, adds good base sound and not tinny at all. Connects easily to my ipad and iphone haven’t tried it on anything else yet. Charge seems to last quite a while but haven’t timed it yet. A great buy in fact the wife wanted one too so got her the silver one.

Brilliant for its size and price. . I needed a small bluetooth speaker for my daughter, but didn’t want anything too tinny and with some bass. If you’re going for a small speaker, you need it to have a ‘passive radiator’ type speaker, which creates a lot more bass than a corresponding regular speaker. Now, it’s not thumping bass, nor is it near the nose soundlink mini, but for £12-13 quid, it really impressed me. Loud and clear, no distortion and you can hear the bass notes. Perfect for a small party outside even. And it’s got a 5w speaker, which seems to be more than the regular 3w speakers of this size are using, so that helps too.

This speaker is a great upgrade on the very mini speaker that i had. This speaker is a great upgrade on the very mini speaker that i had. They were not bluetooth either, so this one is much easier to set up. I travel a lot around the world and just enjoy being able to listen to music through speakers that are many times better than my laptop, ipad or iphone. When out of the packaging the speaker will add around 200 gm to my luggage and worth every gram.

A great speaker for its price, really small, playsmusic in really high quality, and a great bass effect from it. Is surprisingly loud for its size too, only fault is the radio, i find it very hard to find a station and seems to be a constant ‘fuzzing’ effect from it. Other than that an all-around great speaker, definitely recommended.

I do not like working at a screen with internal speakers. Just what i needed when running internet radio stations on my mac. I do not like working at a screen with internal speakers. I have used a radio app to connect to classical music stations in france italy and usa. I position the anker about three metres away, on a bookshelf, for background music.

tooth Speaker – Brilliant Brilliant Brilliant

Surprising amount of sound, in a pretty solid package. . I bought this as a punt, i’ve always been a fan of anker equipment none of it has let me down yet and it always feels robust – but i didn’t really expect much from this speaker, but i was surprised at the amount of sound from something so small, and it has quite a nice weight to it – feels like something substantial and not something featherweight/cheap. I’m keeping mine in the bathroom, paired mine with my echo dot i can just turn on the speaker and a few seconds later the music i was listening to on my dot will be playing on the bluetooth speaker in my bathroom and it’s doing the job perfectly. As a result of my satisfaction with this speaker i’m very tempted to purchase the normal sized soundcore as well.

Thank you for your kind email seller. I received a bluetooth speaker just before the estimated date. Very well packaged and very well protected from damage during transit. I am very very pleased with my speaker. (don’t even need an instruction). It is so loud for a tiny little thing and sturdy. The sound is clear and has a good bass. I felt the vibration on the table.

  • Really impressive sound given the size and price. Good quality product. Highly recommended as a portable speaker
  • Keep your expectations in checkand you will love it!
  • Big sound, little box

At this price and for this size you simply can’t go wrong. . I’ve had a few portable speakers in my time – all of which have died on me recently, and so decided to take a chance on this one. I have been very pleased with the quality and volume that this puts out. The bass, needless to say, is not going to shake your ribcage, but then if you expect that for something of this size then you’re an idiot. But the bass it puts out is still very nice, and the mids and highs sound very pleasing as well. No exterior dongles/cables to get broken (except when you are charging it or using the radio – a nice feature here is that the charging cable doubles up as an aerial), sturdy construction and looks very nice. Has a nice weight to it – it’s about 200g. Good sound, looks nice and solid construction. Pairs easily and quickly, has other modes that tbh i may not use (sd card, auxillary, radio) but they’re there i suppose so it’s nice.

Brilliant brilliant brilliant. I have a sonos play:1 at home mated to all my devices. . But wanted something similar although much more portable and compact. This item is well weighted and stable but not heavy. It’s tactile and has a quality about it when handled. . And full charged surprisingly quickly. The performance was unexpected. There is no ‘crackly, tinny or strained’ sound when volume high.

Outstanding sound, excellent bass and well worth the money. . This thing right here is the bomb. The bass on this you wouldn’t believe. For it’s size, this bugger can almost bring the house down. I use it all the time, when i’m cooking, washing, doing chores, when i’m away from home and when i have friends round; this device gets switched on and used without question. Excellent battery life, incredibly easy to use and just overall decent bit of kit. I paid ~£17 for it and for that, well, it’s just daylight robbery. They produce the best budget sound gear around.

I do not like working at a screen with internal speakers. Just what i needed when running internet radio stations on my mac. I do not like working at a screen with internal speakers. I have used a radio app to connect to classical music stations in france italy and usa. I position the anker about three metres away, on a bookshelf, for background music.

Really impressive sound given the size and price. Highly recommended as a portable speaker. As an owner of the bose soundlink mini i know what small bluetooth speakers can deliver – really impressive sound for the size. I wanted a cheap, small speaker for use on holiday or at work and this anker speaker delivers. It has a quality feel with an aluminium case around the size of half a drinks can or an slr lens. It is incredibly light considering it includes the battery. Mid and high tones are clear and balanced, really not bad compared to the bose. Where it lacks is bass which is not surprising and to be honest it’s not bad, and when playing modern tracks which seem to be more balanced for headphones and small speakers it really sounds great.

Fantastic sound for such a little speaker. Fantastic sound for such a little speaker. Connected to iphone with no issues. Good weight and appears to be well made. Only just tried it so can’t say how long one charge lasts.

Great speaker works excellently with my echo dot. For it’s size its quite loud, i use mine with my echo dot speaker, for under £70 i now have a full fat echo device. Bass is nice and punchy, and the sound sounds full, even at full volume there is no distortion.

Another great anker product. I have bought various items from the anker company and have never been let down – cables, battery packs etc. This speaker is well made , holds a good charge and links seamlessly to my apple products (phone & macbook). Great little device, have been using it to play music from my phone. It just can’t connect to other bluetooth speakers to create a chain but that’s expected in the price. Never disappointed with anker products.

Excellent quality and value for money. I wanted a small cheap mini bluetooth speaker replace my old xmi mini (which was phono only) to take into the office and connect to my phone for streaming radio. Anyways, i was looking through the reviews on amazon, and this popped up for me in the search results. I’d bought anker gear before, and found them for the most part to be solid and reliable (let’s not mention the sd card usb reader thingy though. )the soundcore mini has an black aluminium case and is about the size of half a coke can, and seems to be fairly solidly constructed (not tried dropping it yet though. Very easy to use – it’s pretty much switch the speaker on and wait a couple of seconds for it to sync with your phone (once your phone knows about it). It actually sounds pretty good to these amateur ears for a little 5w jobbie – midtones and bass are crystal clear. It’s not going to overwhelm any hardcore audiophiles, but for those on a budget it’s a steal.

Really powerful little speaker. Amazing output for its size and the battery life is impressive. I havent been caught out by the battery yet and have been using it multiple time for many hours between charges. It doesnt distort due to onboard circuit analysisng output which is great so no matter what music you listen too at what volume it will only go as loud as it can prior to where distortion would be produced. It would be great if you could link two of these up for stereo sound.

Very good sound from such a small speaker, the volume was quite high when i tried it first time so be warned, it connected to my phone bluetooth easily, has a good rich sound and is capable of filling a room volume wise, the radio tuned in easy to with a very good reception, has pause on radio to, not tried sd card yet, the controls are easy to understand, the buttons double up for different things depending on what input your using, definitely be one to take traveling.

It has only just arrived but already i’m impressed. It is very small, beautifully made, and very tactile. A nice balance of form and function too, as the sound that comes out of it is amazingly good. Keep your expectations in checkand you will love it. I am going to have to review this product as honestly as i can by warning others not to believe everything you read in the other reviews especially in regards to sound quality. Don’t get me wrong, i am happy to give the product 5 stars, and the sound quality is great for the size. But comparing it to high end hifi and the like is bordering on insanity and will only result in you being underwhelmed when you get the product. You would be best served by keeping your expectations lower, and then you will be pleasantly surprised or even blown away by the product. With that in mind, there is no magic at work here, and the sound quality for me was no more or less than i expected. It has a solid well mounted driver that sounds good, particularly when the unit is seated on a firm surface. The rubber ring on the bottom is good, ensuring good contact with said surface. The mounting of the driver internally, the quality of the magnet, and the speakers contact with the surface it’s sitting on are the main factors here, and anker has done that really well. It’s size also limits the sound image it can project, which is why it will never sound as good as many larger portable bluetooth speakers.

An excellent device that enhances the music stored on other devices. The radio is excellent and has no problem picking up the signal. A perfect companion at work, in the garden or on holiday. Easily carried in my work bag and colleagues have also been impressed by the appearance. I’m delighted with the quality of this device, my purchase of the year. For just over £20 – this little pod is fantastic. It connects seamlessly with my iphone via bluetooth allowing me to play from my phone’s music library. There’s also a built in radio, and sd card mp3 player – but all of that would be academic if the sound let it down. Well i was astounded at the quality of the sound, crisp and clean, superb bass, and quite loud too. For a few quid – worth investigation.

Anker SoundCore mini – Mini size, great sound.

Good sound quality for size and price range and reasonable battery life. The sound quality is very good for a speaker in this price range. Battery life is good and the interaction with it is for the most part pleasant. The radio function needs work, though. It is good that it has this feature, as not many bluetooth speakers do these days, but using it is frustrating. When you turn the speaker off and on again, the last station you listened to is not remembered. Instead, you have to navigate to it every time you turn the device on. This is difficult because there is no way to know which station you are on unless they announce it, which you have to wait for them to do. This feature should have been mandatory for a device that has no display. ‘remember my last radio station’ loos like a very simple software feature to implement and it would have a significant impact on the experience of those using this device for radio.

Lightweight crystal clear, loud, bluetooth speaker / radio. It weighs nothing, it accepts microsd memory card, 3. 5mm jack and bluetooth, receives radio, has volume play and pause buttons and is really really loud with crystal clear sound. Energy efficiency and battery must be massive, it arrived with charge a month ago and i’ve never charged it since, i’m wondering if it’s magic. Got it on sale for £20 but i’d pay upto £50 to be honest. My girlfriend has no appreciation for technology at all and even she said it was a great deal when we tried it out. Only issue is trouble pairing – but actually due to it being so simple and fast. You may have to unpair it from your devices after use because they all fight to connect to it, it’s a bluetooth whore so keen to connect with anything that it can be annoying if you have lots of devices.

It has only just arrived but already i’m impressed. It is very small, beautifully made, and very tactile. A nice balance of form and function too, as the sound that comes out of it is amazingly good. • This sounds good and works well
  • Another great Anker product

Say for price and size this things sounds way better than it should. Don’t usually leave reviews but have to say for price and size this things sounds way better than it should. To clear up usage with the echo dot – this will turn off after half an hour of nothing playing through bluetooth. It doesn’t do so if you use the aux jack.

I received this little beauty yesterday and within 10 seconds of opening the box and switching it on i was listening to music via my iphone se on bluetooth. I bought this to take on holiday and for use in our caravan. I have a house full of sonos speakers costing over £1000 and believe me this little speaker comes a very, very close secondhaving had various hi fi set ups over the years including technics, dennon, nad, keff etc. I was astonished at the rich sound coming from this little speaker. I know ive only had this less than 24 hours but if it lasts, then this product is highly recommended. I’ve just ordered a second one as a christmas present for a family member. Buy it you will not be disappointed.

This portable bluetooth speaker was purchased as an addition to a similar sized mini speaker i already bought and this particular model didn’t disappoint either. I was so impressed with the build quality, the sound from such a small item and the ease of use. The packaging was superb ensuring that the speaker didn’t arrive at it’s destination in a damaged state. The icing on the cake was the inclusive 18 month warranty which indicates the faith anker have in their product.

Great speaker works excellently with my echo dot. For it’s size its quite loud, i use mine with my echo dot speaker, for under £70 i now have a full fat echo device. Bass is nice and punchy, and the sound sounds full, even at full volume there is no distortion.

Good sound quality and good bass. Worth the amount paid, indeed. One note: after some time without sound transmission (bluetooth), the speaker ‘turns off’ automatically (so far so good), but when we transmite sound again (bluetooth), the speaker don’t detects the trigger and don’t ‘turns on’ automatically, we must turn-off / turn-on the power switch manually.

Really pleased with this speaker, easily connected to my phone, good quality, clear sound with just enough bass. The volume is perfect for my use around the house or even in the car. As with my other anker purchases it came well packed in minimalist packaging, which i was very happy with.

Another great anker product. I have bought various items from the anker company and have never been let down – cables, battery packs etc. This speaker is well made , holds a good charge and links seamlessly to my apple products (phone & macbook). Very pleased with this versatile speaker and agree with the positive. Very pleased with this versatile speaker and agree with the positive comments. In addition the volume can be adjusted finely so you can listen from an sd card on low volume at night without disturbing others.

About three quarters the size of a can of coke, it’s powerful enough to fill a small room. Bluetooth pairing was painless, and the controls on the speaker itself work well. Another great anker product.

This is the most amazing mini speaker i have ever tried, even better than some large speakers for bass. My husband is a bass player (double bass) so we find it hard to get a good bass sound on small speakers that we like. This speaker is simply the best i have tried and it will be a present for him for christmas. It paired instantly to my android phone and i tried a number of jazz and classical pieces. The middle and top ranges are good too and orchestral music so clear you can hear every instrument. I tried and returned many similar sized speakers before finding this one. Usb lead included if you don’t have bluetooth. A very sturdy product with the feel of quality. I doubt you will find better.

Love the matt black look and feel. Aesthetics are really good it also has a nice decent weight to it, not too light not too heavy. Was far louder than i expected and the sound quality is really good for a speaker this price. Only down side is that it only comes with a usb lead charger and not an actual plug.

For the size it does boom out the sounds. My only criticism is the radio function as its rubbish and i could not find any stations but i didn’t buy it for that and can get internet radio using my paired phone anyway.

Works a treat so far – i got it to go with a new echo dot, and it paired painlessly during setup. All controls seem straightforward and it carries an impressive punch for such a small device. Very impressed so far – i haven’t yet tried other features (cable connection, sd card or radio) or determined how good the battery life is, so will update this later as necessary.

Excellent sound, especially considering the size. Battery lasts much longer than expected (quotes as 15 hours, this translates to around 2 weeks of my use, random hours here and there) – very impressed. Incredibly handy to charge using my existing phone charger (in about an hour and a half). Pairing via bluetooth is quick and reliable. Range is pressure, haven’t had an issue upto 8 or 9 metres. Solid feel in the hand, metal construction feels sturdy and rubber ring on base keeps the speaker in place. Simple and intuitive controls on the speaker, which are well explained in the included documentationhighly recommended, this is the second one i’ve bought.

Yep, can always trust an anker. This isn’t something i’d normally buy but after seeing it reviewed on pm101 (this guy knows his stuff) i had to buy it. The item came nicely boxed (still prefer the old brown boxes though anker) and very well packaged. I was surprised how compact the unit was, around the size of a tennis ball i’d say. It felt very solid in my hand and you instantly get the feeling of pure quality like most anker products. Install was so easy and within seconds, i was listening to my play list in amazing clarity. The bass is pretty good for something so small and just last weekend i got to show the unit off along side a friend’s speaker, anker knocked the socks of it. The feature of the fm radio is an added bonus albeit a bit hit and miss with the tuning but i’m guessing it was just a signal issue. Currently using the unit in the bathroom and it’s awesome. And at that price, well, that’s all my secret santas sorted.

Tiny device but great quality. . This tiny device is multi-function (support micro-sd card and fm radio) and extremely portable speaker, hardly to believe that the tiny bluetooth speaker can produce such long playing-time and great sound quality.
