Was looking for a decent but cheap portable bluetooth speaker, after looking at various top 10’s and reviews i whittled it down to the anker soundcore, the doss boombox and this the sumvision psyc monic. Couldn’t split them based on reviews alone so cheekily ordered all three to compare them for myself. There was only one winner, the psyc monic absolutely blew the other two out of the water, not even in the same league and to be fair they aren’t as the psyc’s secret weapon is the absolutely sublime passive subwoofer which just takes the depth and quality of the audio to whole other level that the other two simply cant compete with. Don’t get me wrong the anker is a cracking little speaker but for the extra £7 i cant understand why anyone wouldn’t pay that little bit extra for a whole lot more. To put it in a nutshell, the anker and the doss are like listening to good portable bluetooth speakers (anker outperformed the doss by the way), the psyc is like listening to a stereo system. The only negative as most have mentioned is battery life performance, which is at the lower end of the scale, 7hrs is clearly a stretch of a claim, but its something personally i’m willing to accept as a trade off for the superb performance, others however may not. Other notable points; the design is simple but stylish, build quality is clearly premium and as the old saying goes with speakers the heavier the better and well this feels like a small brick. The small percentage of negative reviews i can only put down to unlucky faulty units, as my experience has been overwhelmingly positive. Purchase with confidence fellow amazonians.
Well, i’ve had the speaker for 6 months now; i wonder if it is entirely helpful to review too soon. I think the stated time is very ambitious; perhaps if is on at a whisper it may get close. Also, it takes quite a long time to charge. However, the big question: was it a good buy?. The bluetooth is pretty reliable and the connection easy. If i should drop it and damage it irreparably i would definitely buy another.
Lovely speaker which arrived promptly. It was charged on arrival so all there was to do was switch on and link with the bluetooth on my phone. Incredibly easy to use and amazing sound. Can’t believe it for the price. Here are the specifications for the Sumvision ®【Tech / PC Advisor Winner Recommended 3 years running 2016 / 2017 / 2018】Psyc Monic Metal Wireless Bluetooth Portable Stereo Speaker 35 Metre 115ft Bluetooth 4:

Great sound and goes very loud without distorting for those impromptu parties. Well made and quite heavy but that’s probably why it sounds so good. Metal grill protects from damage. Other people have been impressed by sound both loud and when played at normal volumes.
. Very, very close but not quite. The build quality is excellent, the sound quality is very good from a device as small as it is. The pairing is simple and with a pleasing tonal balance. That being said placement is important. I find ours sounds best when directly in front of a solid wall. Overall a very good purchase and we use it regularly.

- Great speakers become amazing when you buy a second and connect them as stereo speakers!
- Cracking little speaker!
At the price point it is quite good quality but it never held enough charge for even 2 hours of playing, leave alone 7. Did not have a charging wire so i requested and received one from seller. In a couple of months the charging point has become loose or the wire has stopped functioning well. So i returned it for full refund, thanks to superb amazon policies.
Overall this speaker sounds quite good. The best thing it has going for it is the bass is quite loud relative to th e overall sound, so music like reggae, hip hop and drum and bass sound pretty good. My lead criticism is that overall it doesn’t play that loud. Whilst i was happy with the purchase i am already looking at alternative bt speakers in the higher price bracket because i want a bit more volume.
For £37 this a fantastic sounding speaker with great bass response which doesn’t overwhelm the clear and defined mids and highs. There are a couple of niggles such as the battery life of 4-5 hours could be longer, and the dual skip track/volume button where a short press skips tracks and a long press changes the volume – this is hard to use so i rarely do and change volume through my phone or laptop. Sumvision also advise you to not charge the speaker while it is being used which is an unfortunate design flaw. Nevertheless, the fantastic sound in a speaker in this price range far outweighs the minor flaws. I have a great tip for these speakers which i wanted to share with others. I bought a second speaker, as they are so relatively cheap, and connected a cheap audio splitter 3. 5mm mini jack stereo plug to 2 x mono plugs audio splitter lead cable – 3m via the aux-in jacks on both speakers. This creates fantastic stereo speakers (each channel plays out of the left speaker on both speakers). If you put the speakers either side of you on a desk and connect to your laptop, it feels like you can almost reach out and touch the artist singing in front of you.I was amazed at how good this sounded.
I ordered this as a family member also has the same one. This arrived very quickly and performs well. Sound quality is brilliant and charge last for hours. This is better quality than some more expensive options found at high street stores. I also got the case to keep it in but you don’t really need towould definitely recommend.
Not as good as bose but then again cost only a 1/3 of my bose going to using in a camper so very pleased with them the pairing of devices is a lot quicker than bose overall excellent purchase had a few sumvision products and find them value and quality for the money.
Cannot recommend this enough, we now have 4 they are that good. Fantastic deep base sound for such a small speaker, everyone who hears it comment on how good it is. Nice design and easy to operate. Good battery life and easy to connect to via any bluetooth device.
This is a cracking little speaker. It’s a pity it can’t be charged via mains adaptor when it’s being used. In fact it can only be charged via a usb x mini usb cable and the one supplied is annoyingly short. It’s very portable, but maybe not the best buy for regular home use.
I don’t normally write reviews but this speaker deserves one. As others mention the sound is rich, punchy and clear. It really is amazing for its size and cost. Anyone who comes round is very impressed by the sound from it. Even at low volumes the sound is still rich. It’s so good that i am having to buy another one as my wife keeps using this onethe only thing that lets it down is that you can’t use it properly while it is charging as it discharges more quickly than it charges (it would deserve 5 stars if this was better). The battery life is quite reasonable though.
Great speaker for the money, wanted something to go out in the garden ,play off my fone and it not be tinny etc ,its really good, ppl are wowing the sound, if ur expecting glastonbury its not . But a big punch from a lil speaker none the less ,no distortion at all. Fyi the loudness is down to the quality of the music , ie played straight from cd is loudest, bad download its quietest, you tube is medium. Looks great ,easy to use :).
Genuinely surprised at how good the sound quality is for the price – had read numerous reviews of various speakers before purchasing, and hoped this would be good, but it exceeded expectation by miles, and even met with the approval of 17 year old and friends. Great sound, easily portable, and easy and quick to charge. Definitely recommend – in fact planning to buy a second as this one keeps being borrowed.
These are very good, its actually encased in metal and the front and back shrouds also seem to be metal, i have dropped it many times and also ran over it with with an electric vehicle, and had it in heavy rain and it has not broken. The battery lasts about 4 or 5 hours on full volume with the mp3 player i use, i noticed if you use it with a modern phone the volume can be louder, this will probably mean the battery only will last 2 or 3 hours though. You can charge it while its playing if you bring the charging cable and have one of those usb battery charging things. The sound is not bad it doesn’t hurt my ears which is surprising from a cheap speaker. It has strong bass for what it is. I had an anker speaker which is one of the most popular ones on amazon but it broke after 1 month, that speaker had better midrange but much less noticable bass.
Bought this as a gift for my missus as i impulse purchased a bears pill when they first launched. I researched and was about to buy the anker version as i have a lot of anchor product and they are solid, easy to use, reliable and if i like a brand i usually stick to it but. . This blows my beats pill out the water. It’s loud enough (although i wish i could run four together) it’s quite heavy but i like that it feels sustancial. It has really good bass and is thoroughly recommended. I’m here writing this as i’m buying a second and also a blue tooth splitter we are pleased with this product.
You can pay a lot more for a bluetooth speaker but the sound that this kicks out is amazing. The bass is really good and the connectivity is first-class.
I bought this to replace a smaller speaker i was using and am very impressed with the sound. It’s loud enough for me to listen to music and podcasts in the car as my car stereo doesn’t have bluetooth. A useful feature is it turns itself off after 3 minutes if it’s not in use.
I originally wrote a bad review as the for time i tried this i was very disappointed. I packed it up to send it back. The sound was cloudy, muffled, muddy. Whatever you want to call it. Plus the volume was unimpressive. Somebody made comments on my review that made me question myself so i went back and tried again. I’m glad i didi used a different device to test it on. My advice would be to try it on a more that one blue tooth device if it sounds bad at first. My first review was 1 star but i change that to 5 because, for the money.
Compared to bose colour and a similar product from aukey, this blows them away. The sound is so full and clear with excellent sub bass. Does very well at filling a space with sound. I first came across it when my mate brought one with him to a job in portugal to use outside, and it was the envy of everyone. Real stereo sound and volume. I borrowed his speaker again a year later and it’s still going strong so i bought one of my own. The first one i ordered had a strange distortion/interference sound that you could hear at low volumes. I could hear it as soon as i turned it on and nothing was playing yet. I was disappointed so returned it and ordered the aukey one, but it just wasn’t the same and had nowhere near as much bass as i was expecting, so i ordered another psyc in the hope it wouldn’t have the same noise issue and it doesn’t, very happy. Can’t comment on battery life yet but you can use it whilst plugged in to usb anyway.
