Awesome sound quality out of a portable speaker. Use it round the house and take it to gatherings or holidays.
Took this speaker to spain and used it every day by the pool.
After reading the reviews i was taking a chance at this price and to be honest speaking sounds distorted and muffled not great at all and deff not very loud. Either it’s faulty or that’s the way it is. My daughter has a beats pill and compared to that is so bad. I should of brought a more expensive one. Update i have now changed this to 5 starsa day or so after leaving this anker contacted me and sent me a new speaker out but what was even better they sent me a pro+ version that sounds great. It’s a bit bigger than the one i wanted but wow does it sound great. Obviously i can’t compare to the other has i’m sure it was faulty.

Comments from buyers
“PLEASED WITH THE SPEAKER, AMAZED BY ANKER CUSTOMER SUPPORT, Excelent product!!!, Incredible sound considering the size and cost.”
This is not going to replace the hifi in the lounge but anywhere else that you want music it is astoundingly good. I use this with an echo dot and bluetooth to the flare. It gives me music in the kitchen whilst i cook, music on the patio or anywhere i go within bluetooth range. It is very nicely made and feels substantial. The controls are easy to use and understand. The battery lasts ages at moderate volume levels and the low charge indicator gives warning in good time. Highly recommended for this application.
Lovely little speaker, good quality sound and build.
Nice, the sound is good and the lights are a bonus, bigger bonus if that you can turn them off.
Very happy with the soundcore flare. It is a great sound, build quality seems very good and it is aesthetically pleasing to look at. Also because it is 360% sound you can put it in the middle of the room and no matter where you are in the room you don’t lose anything.

The true wireless stereo feature is good and fills a medium size room with ease on 50-60% volume. When used a few times with my media projector, i found it hard to tell where the audio was coming from as the coverage made it seem like it could have been in any location.
This is so unfair, i get to see this after purchasing 2 other anker speakers at almost the same price. I would definitely have gone for this and i am devastated that i am seeing this just now. I have no intention of returning my 2 soundcore boosts or any other of my anker speakers, but i definitely lust after this product. Heard it play at a party and i can say that you would have no regrets getting one of these.
The soundcore flare is an excellent audio experience and for this alone, it is worth recommending, but it also adds a little fun to the proceedings. Vocals are distinct whilst, trebles and mids are very apparent and bass is pretty darn satisfactory. The speaker sits on a ring that has an adjustable light show. Adjustable using the speaker button or the soundcore app (firmware update needed) – 5 modes – party, energy, chill, bedtime and spring. Effectively you can choose from party beat-driven lighting through to night-time chill down lighting. This will be my summer speaker. This is a fantastic and loud speaker that i intend to take with me on my holidays. It’s small enough to fit in my beach bag. It’s good enough to really enjoy and appreciate musically and comes with a light show that adds to the overall fun factor. Let the party begin it is worth making a little attempt at describing the speaker.
I’m a big fan of anker’s speakers and this is the 3rd one i have bought over the years (the other two being the original soundcore then the soundcore 2). However, in recent months i’d found i’d abandoned my trusty ankers in favour of a tronsmart t6, just because it was a bit more rugged and suited to life outdoors at festivals and house parties etc – it is waterproof and nice and chunky so it can survive in a backpack without needing a case, and will survive a fall to the ground no problem. When i saw that anker has produced a new speaker and it was in a similar format with 360 degree sound, plus it was nice a similar rugged cylinder shape to the t6 (slightly shorter though, and marginally fatter at the base), i knew i had to give it a listen. What makes the flare stand out from the t6 and other speakers is the lights built into the base of the speaker, there’s a ring of led lights that will pulse and shine and generally do funky stuff in time to your music or just fade in and out. I’m a sucker for pretty lights and i’ve coveted my friends’ jbl pulse 2 speaker for some time. Firstly let me say this is not as good a light show as the pulse series, which have the lights all the way up the speaker, but then nor would you expect it to be at a fraction of the price. What you do get is a quite fun little show. Which looks good in a dark room but is a bit ineffective during the day as you’d expect. So, fancy lights aside how does it sound?.Well once again anker have come up trumps with another great sounding speaker.
We were at a friends house at the weekend for a bbq, and he had the music on. At first i though it was coming from a main system somewhere as the sound was just too good for it to be a bluetooth speaker. At the party progressed i soon discovered the source of the music was this little beauty. Asked about it and found it on here so it’s getting purchased as soon as i get paid. Later as night fell, the lights underneath added an extra touch of ‘flare’ which i presume is where these guys got the name from. I left well impressed (by the music, the food was meh :)). The party was on from about 2pm though to well after 10pm, i’m not sure how long it had been in before we arrived, but it showed no signs of letting up.
Extremely loud for the size. Does the job extremely well.
I wanted an every day speaker that doesn’t cost a tonne and this is perfect. The light show is a nice touch but in no way tries to make up for anything it’s lacking in sound quality – it’s simply a bonus feature.
Owning 30+ anker products, they are my go to when i am looking to buy new kit. Having seen the flare portable advertised i was very eager to get one as my soundcore boost is used on a daily basis. Unfortunately it’s a bit of a disappointment for me, which is the first time i think i have ever had to say that about an anker product. At when playing music at high volume, there is a distortion that causes the music to fade in and out which ruins the listening experience. I have tried multiple sources and songs, all of which have the same effect so off to be returned to amazon it goes. 30/05/2018 updatewhat a class act anker are. After seeing my review, they reached out to me and let me know they were shipping a replacement speaker out to me. Two days later and the new device was in my hands and it’s like a completely different speaker. The replacement works perfectly, no annoying fade issues at high volume and the sound quality at low volumes seems to be better too. It’s now exactly what i was hoping for so changing my review from 2 to 5 stars.
Gets really loud, and still sound clear, and for that price it’s worth it.
Could be louder, but really not an issue.
I bought this speaker to be used and abused, for holidays, parties and just general use at home. It feels solid and has waterproofing which is exactly what i was after. At moderate volume it sounds good. A decent amount of bass and clarity of vocals, it has everything you would expect at this price point. However when cranking up the volume, vocals become quite tinny and there is some distortion. It also does not get loud enough for my needs. Because of these two issues, i will be returning it. Updateanker promptly got in touch with me after leaving this review and resolved the issue by sending me a different model at no extra cost. First class customer service, i am over the moon.
Great sound quality or the price. Not as well rounded a sound as my bose.
I own multiple anker speakers, so know their usual high standards and quality. Unfortunately, this speaker did not live up to them. The problem is at high volume, the sound keeps jumping up and down/in and out as if bass is too much for it to handle, blowing other sounds out. This causes a noticeable and constant jump in volume, making the speaker pretty unusable. I’ve tried it with multiple devices and songs, both over bluetooth and aux cable. All resulting in the same outcome. The speaker itself seems really well made and i like the lighting effects, so it’s a shame that i’m having to return it. Update————after returning the speaker, anker contacted me directly to apologies for the issue. They then arranged for replacement to be sent to me. Within a couple of days the new speaker has arrived, and it works so much better than the previous one.
My children all have anker speakers and knowing their quality it was an easy choice when choosing one for myself. I haven’t been disappointed either easy to use from the start great app installed to control the sound and light functions from my phone. Battery life is excellent and most important for me is the quality of the sound 1st class. I would recommend anker products without hesitation thank you.
Loved this speaker at first, good sound. Seemingly good build quality and loved the app to control it. Unfortunately after two days it developed the same fault as the previous review. At anything over 50% volume the music fades in and out. A real shame as everything else about the speaker is great but if you cant get the basics right then it’ll be returned to amazon. Update-so i figured out the fading and then normalizing of the sound only happens when not charging. . So its an issue with the battery or power management. The issue still persists when the unit is over 50% charged so definitely not a design choice. I must say i would give 5 stars to ankle customer support whom were in touch to offer a replacement within 6 hours of my original review being posted. Update 31/7/18-so the excellent anker support had a replacement unit out to me within 5 days.
Great bass, great audio quality, beautiful design, the light feature is great and works well, anker does it again.
Having owned a soundcore mini for a while i was excited about this larger unit. However i’m a bit disappointed with the sound quality. When the volume is turned up over 50% the sound fades in and out and you just can’t listen to it. Especially on bass rich tracks. Update 23/08/2018anker customer support contacted me and explained that the volume reduction happens when battery is low. Sure enough when speaker is fully charged the sound is great.
