Ill start by saying that i bought my sub from a local dealer and not amazon so im not sure of delivery times from amazon. Now on to the sub i got it about two weeks ago ive tried both music and movies and can say that its worth getting but as cheap as you can. Music on the sub is pretty good but not against a dedicated active sub for your music system but not bad as for the movies as an add on to one of the new wedge shape sony tv’s its surprisingly good with the sub alone you wont need a soundbar the tv takes care of the highs while the sub takes care of the lows. So four stars from me because the music could be better but no complaints for the movies.

Worthwhile addition to a bravia tv. I got a 50′ bravia w8 in the summer, and was blown away by the picture quality. The sound was absolutely fine, but when i registered the tv, i got a voucher for 20% off bravia accessories. This 20% voucher burning a hole in my pocket probably swayed me towards buying this subwoofer, rather than any great need to have extra bass. Having stumped up just under £200 for it however, i have to say that i’m fairly happy with it. First impressions are that it’s a fairly hefty bit of kit, not quite as unobtrusive as the marketing bumf would have you believe. It is however extremely simple to set up. Simple pop the dongle in to a usb socket on the back of your telly, and then connect that to the tv’s headphone socket. The sub then powers up automatically when the tv is on, and also puts itself in to standby mode. It’s very simple, and whilst the dongle doesn’t feel massively secure in the usb slot, i’ve had no issues so far.

Features of Sony SWF BR100 Wireless Sub Woofer – White

  • Wireless sub-woofer speakers, compatible with BRAVIA 2014 models, white box design
  • Wireless speaker for use with 2014 BRAVIA models
  • Sub-woofer low-frequency audio
  • Stylish white box design

Very good works well woth the 4k tv that i bought.

Huge improvement but ideally needs placing close to the tv. I bought this as an addition for what’s probably the smallest tv it’s compatible with – the sony 32inch w705. It’s made a huge improvement to the bass, although on a smaller tv it is a high cost for convenience. A cheaper, non wireless soundbar/sub combination would probably be a better fit from a cost point of view. The key is its ease of use, plug the adapter in and the sub to the mains and it just works. If you want you can delve into the menus and change the settings. For my tv and room the default volume was too high, but this was easily adjusted in the menu. Bear in mind that the cut off frequency (it set itself to 100hz) is not that low, so you can tell where the sub is. It would be good to place this next to the tv because of this, which rather defeats the whole wireless convenience. Owners of bigger tvs may be able to use a lower cut off (because their speakers are better and have more bass themselves) which might reduce this.

  1. If you want the sound of a soundbar, and you already have a recent model bravia, this is the thing to get. Fills out the low end of a sony bravia’s frequency range perfectly. Takes a a few seconds to set up – hardest part is sticking a usb stick in when your tv’s already mounted to the wall. If you absolutely have to have 5. 1 sound, then only a full-on surround system will do but for most of us this is a simple and unobtrusive way to make your front room feel like a mini cinema.

Makes all the difference to my new bravia tv,. Makes all the difference to my new bravia tv, and the wireless sync works very well. Although subwoofers are by nature hefty items, a slightly more discreet size would have been more in keeping with the now customary slim line screens.
    • Well made subwoofer although a little pricy for what it is. The sound quality is excellent and make this a worthwhile purchase. The tv automatically turns the subwoofer on/off for you which is a really useful function.
      • Awesome sub woofer, works perfectly with the new sony tv we bought. Its not huge so it doesn’t look ugly in the lounge and the sound is amazing. Its sony so you know you are buying quality.
