SMSL SA-36A Pro Audio Stereo Amplifier : GREAT AMP AMAZING SOUND ( BUT DODGY MAINS LEAD!)

Brilliant little amp, faultless. . This thing is bloody brilliant. I made the mistake of buying a set of 5 speakers with the mindset of ‘plug in and play’. However this was not the case, and after some research i discovered they needed an amplifier. This does the job brilliantly, easy to set up, feels premium and comes brilliant ly packaged.

Great amp amazing sound ( but dodgy mains lead). This is a great little amplifier. I am powering a pair of wharfedale diamond 9. 0 speakers with it through an asus essence ii soundcard. Build quality is very good and performance is stellar. Only issue was the figure of 8 mains lead included with the power unit. This has a clover shaped non fused plug on it which fails bs standards. The mains lead itself did not contain too many copper wires and was almost as soft as liquorice when pulled. So ditch the lead if you buy one of thesei am giving five stars for performance and build quality but do keep in mind the dodgy lead thrown into the box as an afterthought.

At £38 it`s a steal, great for music & playing software synths. Terrific little box, simple, small, solid, no fuss and may only be 12w per channel with regular 8 ohm speakers but i`m guessing that`s 12w rms so more than enough vol for most tasks. I`m using this to power some jbl control one speakers and am listening to music and playing software synthesizers through it, sounds great .

Excellent amp for truck installation. This amp has been perfect for our vehicle installation since it can take regulated 24v input. It has excellent build quality and the volume is fine to hear over driving noise. I cannot find anything to fault it.

SMSL SA-36A Pro Audio Stereo Amplifier – Black : This knocks out quite a punch. 1 sound system and then a lepai lp-808 for my mac sound system. This amp, played through a pair of solavox 2-way 8ohm speakers i’ve had since the 1980s, knocks both of them into a cocked hat, and is, i beleive, on a par with the denon system i have in my lounge. For the size and price, i don’t think it could be bettered. The stereo separation, tone and volume are superb. The amp is completely silent in operation (no hum or buzzing) and the sound is clean and undistorted at comfortable listening levels. My ancient speakers can allegedly take 35w each, but i’ve no desire to turn this amp up beyond about half, which is very loud in my study.

No doubt about it, this little amp is a. No doubt about it, this little amp is a real gem. I have built a sound system with it using a dab tuner, bluetooth pairing device and of course, the output from my pc. One point to note is that the quoted power of 20w/channel is into speakers of 4 ohms impedance. Most speakers are 8 ohms impedance and it will only deliver about 12w/channel into those. Having said that, it is plenty loud enough for the small space i have it in and the clarity and definition are superb. I connected a pair of q acoustics 2010i speakers and i am just bowled over by the results.

Easy to cut off and replace with a fused one. Aesthetically pleasing compact 12 v amplifier with off board power supply. I’m planning to run mine off-grid on solar eventually, so it’s ideal for that. The uk mains plug appears to have no fuse which seems a bit dodge, easy to cut off and replace with a fused one though. Overall build quality though is good.

I bought this to connect my turntable to a pair or wharfdale speakers which are about 30 years old so that i could play all my old lp records from the 70’s and 80’s and it works a treat. Great volume and bass and it takes so so little space compared with previous amplifiers i have owned. I have no hesitation in recommending it for this purpose.

Perfect for studio speakers and work even better with higher. Perfect for studio speakers and work even better with higher amp ( using 12v 10amp ) power supply than the one supplied with in original package and that is something that the manufacturer should thing about.

I use this amp at my desk to power a pair of denon 6 ohm bookshelf speakers, and it works great. It looks very sleek with the brushed metal. There is a blue light under the volume knob, but this doesn’t bother me too much.
