Lovely music system mainly for classical radio listening and connection to the iphone.
Great sound quality, easy to set up and use and it works really well with my iphone 6 to play music.
Used this for a few months now in my work shop, lovely punchy sound from both radio (dab) and iplayer.
Excellent well made piece of kit, i use mine as a bedside alarm clock radio, sound quality excellent for it’s size, easy to set up, love the two alarm function – i’ve set one for week days and one for weekends. Apple dock is nicely done, quality of the radio is superb (as you would expect from roberts).
- Good speakers & superior DAB reception
- Fantastic Quality Radio
- Very Pleased with this Radio

This is beautiful piece of kit. Really good sound quality with great range (with separate bass and treble controls to adjust to your surroundings and acoustics). All the bells and whistles and oozing quality. Unfortunately had to replace mine as snooze function was not working but replacement is perfect.
Really impressed with this roberts radio. I also own a roberts colourstream which i’ve had for about five years now and i really love it. When i decided to get a smaller version for the bedroom, i thought i’d try another roberts and decided on the blutune 65. This thing actually sounds better than it’s bigger/older brother. I’m really impressed with it and although it doesn’t have internet radio or play files from a memory stick, it’s a much nicer system overall. I would recommend to anyone in the market for a decent, smallish radio.
I took a long time to choose something that fitted the bill in terms of a dab radio and something that had bluetooth. There weren’t many things that ticked all the boxes for me but this certainly did. I wasn’t sure at first because some reviews had said that the sound quality wasn’t great. Perfect dab radio, bluetooth speaker, ipod speaker and fm radio – comes with remote control which is very handy. Compact enough to have at the side of the bed and has a dimmer option so that the clock doesn’t illuminate your bedroom during the night. Handy to charge my iphone on too without the need for cables, plugs etc.
Can’t believe i bought the same brand as my grandad had all those years agobut it is excellent- the sound is brilliant- alarm set up very good, i phone compatibility – perfect. I have bought two more since.
This is one of the best purchases i’ve ever made. After suffering through two cheaper products, i decided to face the music and pay more for a better item. Aesthetics: 4/5 – somewhat blocky yet refined; not to everyone’s taste but i think it works well. Build quality: 5/5 – it’s made by roberts. What more is there to say?sound quality: 5/5 – after you’ve fiddled with the eq just a little (i’d recommend turning the bass up to the max), the sound quality for a dab alarm clock is truly fantastic. The quality of the signal is brilliant – i live in an area with poor signal and there is no static from dab or fm channels whatsoever. Ease of use: 5/5 – set up takes but a minute, and all controls are incredibly simple. Tuning the radio, setting the time etc) are done for you as soon as you plug it in. Volume: 4/5 – again, for a dab radio it truly does pack a punch in terms of volume; at 32 it’ll definitely wake you, and possibly your neighbours, up. Value for money: 4/5 – whilst the product does cost a large amount, i’d argue it’s worth it. It’s by far the best dab radio or alarm clock i’ve ever had, and comes with a line out slot so if you wish to have dab radio loud just hook it up to your speakers. Also, it being from roberts, i’d doubt it’ll be breaking anytime soon.
Easy to set up, and excellent dab reception. Dual alarm is great, with a nice touch of gradually increasing volume for the buzzer, so you’re not startled awakeeasy to use with ipod, and basic controls can be used via the remote. Though, i’d have liked a little bit more functionality, such as selecting shuffle, etc, via the remote. That has to be selected on the ipod. Sound is very good for a large room, though the preselects on the eq are a biased towards bass. This is easily rectified with the personal option. Finally, it looks smart, and the dock folds away neatly when not in use.
We now have two of these radios. The sound quality is excellent. The charging dock is quite delicate (lightning charger for apple) but that’s the same for most lightning charger stations. You can pre-set channels, easy alarm set up, usb port at rear.
I had seen this at my local waitrose store and was waiting for the january sales. Got it at a fantastic price, great product, easy to set up, sounds fantastic, ordered it on boxing day and it arrived the next day, great service. I have to say that even at its original price of around £170 this would still have been value for money, so sale price of £99.
As a speaker this is very good indeed. It is not quite up there with bose/wharfdale/b&o etc but it is nonetheless a high quality speaker that gives good sound in a reasonable size bedroom. I’ve tested the dab, analogue radio and bluetooth and it provides a true sound with decent bass and treble in each. The various settings (rock, concert etc) are a bit gimmicky but it is worth spending a little time on the sound settings if you want hi quality listening. As an everyday radio/alarm it is extremely good. It has all the features you need: two alarms and very good options when you set the alarms. It is quite big so you ought to check the dimensions against your bedside table if that is where you intend to put it. The features are really useful. I like the three setting dimmer, the ipod dock, usb and aux inputs and the compact but responsive remote. Furthermore it is a very sturdy and attractive radio with a really quality feel to it.
The first blutune 65 i received simply did not work out of the box; pretty disappointing given that it was a birthday present for my wife. However i ordered a replacement and was pleased that it came the next day through prime. Initial impressions are good. The item works :-), has a nice rich sound quality to it and is pretty simple and straightforward to operate. Bluetooth link up works well with my phone. The unit is quite large as others have commented so bear that in mind if you’re looking to place it bedside. Ours is sitting happily in the kitchen. Given 4 stars because of initial negative experience and because it’s still pretty new.
Pros: excellant dab reception & very good speaker system. Cons: needs lightning extension if your iphone or ipad has a case. I bought the blutune 65 for the kitchen, because (a) the panasonic dab radio in the kitchen suffered from poor reception, and (b) the attached bose soundlink mini resulted in too many buittons to push. Is the sound as good as the bose soundlink mini – no, it didn’t expect it to be. But the stereo speakers and subwoofer on the blutune 65 is nearly as good as. Ignore the reviews that say that the bass is too loud or too soft – it all depends on personal taste, and the volume. The main thing is that the blutune 65 has adjustable treble & bass (unlike the blutune 50). The system lost the 5th star because of the docking station. I estimate that 95% of iphone (and ipad) owners use protective cases. Why can’t designers build docking stations to suite?.
Intuitive controls and simple to switch from one favourite channel to another – sound quality a joy – wished that we’d bought one years ago – this model can take an iphone/ pod etc to play own music too. Haven’t needed the remote yet but looks unfussy- brilliant product.
Use this as a bedside radio alarm. Easy to use and sound quality is good. In the morning the volume starts low and increases to normal which means you don’t get a sudden blast to wake you up.
This radio is fantastic, it took about 3/4 for me to set it how i wanted it, but i love it. I have read people say the sound could be better, but mine is great for a small radio, you can play it very loud without any distortion. And you can alter the sound tones should you wish too. The reception on dab is really good, as is the fm, and i live out in the sticksi would really recommend this radio, it has so many features.
Sounds great but it’s taking me some time to learn how best to use it. I probably should read the instruction manual).
This is a superb dab radio, sound is good and it is a really neat looking radio.
Excellent sound from such a little box. Reception good most of the time but could be better – may invest in an external area as i live in a pretty low lying sheltered area.
Lovely quality sound & great dab reception . Only little quarm is that with nearly every iphone dock u have to take the case off your phone to attach but easy solution, i just brought a niubee lightning dock extender adapter and bobs yr uncle, no need to take case off . Its a great system feels & sounds great quality .
