RIVA RS01B Premium Bluetooth Speaker : Brilliant speaker, by far the best portable one I’ve

Very good quality it’s a perfect one.

Brilliant speaker, by far the best portable one i’ve owned. Very well built, looks very smart, the sound quality is fantastic. It’s also generous on accessories it ships with a case + all the required cables and power adaptors for every region (uk/us/eu/oc).

Having purchased a bose soundlink111 and returned it within the 14 day guarantee because it was far too boomy for my liking, i spent some time looking for something more to my listening taste of clean vocals not overwhelmed by booming bass. The riva s has proven to be just right for me, it certainly isn’t as loud as the bose, so if you want to shake the walls look elsewhere. It delivers a balanced sound with base yes, but not so much that you have a headache after 10 minutes. So if you appreciate balanced sound with a good degree of definition this is just right. Internet radio is delivered with a nice round warmth. The riva paired instantly with my iphone 6. Been using it for 2 weeks so hoping i don’t experience the reliability issue referred to in other reviews. I have not marked the product down but the packaging from amazon was the worst i have seen, order a £10 gizmo and it will come swaddled in protective paper, yet this was in a box that it literally rattled around in on its long journey from germany, luckily the riva box itself was robust.

Really pleased with the depth and clarity you get with this speaker. I’ve read several reviews about this one saying it was too soft, but i’ve never actually run into any problems in that regard. Also pretty cool that you can get another one to get that stereo sound effect, although i’m not intending to do so at the present moment. One gripe i might have is that i’m sometimes unable to adjust the volume due to the fuzzy touchpad controls. I’ve had to turn the speaker on and off in those cases, which was quite a hassle. I’ve also not bothered to memorize the combination controls for when you need to press 2 buttons simultaneously, i feel like they could have made this much simpler by adding dedicated controls on the speaker itself.

More hi fi than most and no base overload like some i’ve heard.

RIVA RS01B Premium Bluetooth Speaker : I am amazed by the quality of this tiny and stylish speaker. Have now used for a few months and i am really pleased with it. The phone app unfortunately doesn’t work well (it gets stuck and crashes way too often than it should), so i would not bother installing it. Volume of the speaker is not the loudest, but for an average sized room (20sq meters it is more than enough.

We decided to go fully wireless, so i bought 2 riva s’s. Cannot fault sound and looks.

It’s powerful but balanced and i find it really shines at mid to high level volumes. It’s a clear step above my old denon envaya mini. You can turn the volume right up without fear of distortion or loss of control. I played it in my gym, and it was louder and sounded better than the gym’s own speakers. It’s got a battery disconnect switch, so you can run it off the mains without the battery deteriorating. My only gripe is the fancy light-up touch buttons. Whilst they look very cool, they’re not as practical as regular physical buttons. Sometimes you touch the on button and it lights up. You wait for the on tone but it doesn’t play.

Definitely the best speaker for this price.

I love the sound ,i am not an audiophile but love music of all types this unit is sublime but, the one thing that stopped me from giving it a 5 star rating is. I need a pc to upgrade the firmware i have mac’s. Why not ship the item with the upgraded firmware?now i have a chore on my hand trying to work around this problem. Same as cambridge audio do audio companies have a vendetta against us macbook users.

Delivery prompt and quality of speaker first class.

A superbly manufactured product, rich in features, very portable and most of all good quality sound. Mains/batteries switch to prolong battery life, proximity sensitive touch buttons, well built travel adapters pack.

Purchased to use with an echo dot. The base response was not good enough for me (i already have a bose soundlink mini which has a more emphasised base). As this was for a dining room i returned the item – with the normal excelleent amazon returns policy and speed of refund – and purchased the q accoustic bt3 speakers which are excelent but not a small one box solution. If you want great true stero sound in a fixed pair of bluetooth speakers then check those out, for a one box solution with mobility this is certainly a good choice.

Sounds great, but volume is limited.

I read many reviews before purchasing but this speaker exceeds all expectations. I did not believe that paying more would produce such an improvement over cheaper but not cheapproducts. The sound quality is everything that was written about it.

I want to hear the music as it was recorded. I want that clarity at low volumes as well as high. Have been using jbl on tour for years, and liked the clarity but it just couldn’t manage much bass. Bought bose mini some time back but had to return it because of excessively processed sound. Gave up search for new portable speaker as nothing jumped out as any good. Found a good review site clavinetjunkie which put me onto addon t3 and this riva amongst others. Looks great but gaps in sound quality in mid range. For example snare on u2 track babyface was lost.

Great sounding speaker, not too loud but the sound quality is the best i have heard from a bluetooth speaker. What you get with the speaker – aux, bag, international power connections. Have and still have occasionally complications connecting and pairing them ‘true wireless’. When using the two speakers i own in this mode the sound is brilliant though. One speaker can drop in and out of connection depending on distance and way the speaker is facing. Still for a first gen speaker, its pretty good – looking forward to using their other products in the future.

Both the apple and android versions hardly work at all.

Great sound, crisp with a nice base behind. The riva s app for android can be a bit temperamental.

Very true sound may lack a little bass. Otherwise it sounds wonderful.

These small speakers sound wonderful. I would strongly advise buying two to make use of the true wireless option. This would be a big outlay at full price but i got two off amazon for £ 70 each plus delivery, at this price they are a steal. They are not the loudest of speakers but are loud enough for a decent sized room. They give a beautiful natural balanced sound which you wouldn’t think could come from such a small speaker.

Awesome sound from a small speaker one for the audiophiles.

  1. This review is from : RIVA RS01B Premium Bluetooth Speaker

I’ve listened to a number of wireless bluetooth speakers including bose & b&w but this beats them all and for a lot less money. I’m no expert on the subject but know what sounds good to my ears. The treble sounds are all sharp and clear and defined but not tinny at all , and i don’t know where the base comes from in such a small speaker but is deep and natural.
