Q Acoustics Q2050i Speakers – Amazing Speakers Q Acoustics 2050i

Great sound and nice pieces of furniture. I bought these based up on which magazine review best in class 2013 and the price on amazon matched richer sounds. I’ve had problems with the condition they were sent and this is being dealt with seperately, but they looked like they had been beaten up in transit, and there was some minor damage to one of the cabinets. That said they do sound great and i have a rega rp6 and rega amp providing the sound. Word of warning, if you live in a flat you’ll really annoy your neighbours as these bad boys will push out the base, and they are heavy.

1 surround off q acoustics, and they are brilliant. I am a 66 year old, who enjoys pinfloyd, deep purple ect, and you would think these speakers were made for the kind of music i like. Ok a bit expensive, but you could spend twice as much for less sound effect.

A lot of speaker for the money. I was originally considering the tannoy revolution dc6t se or the q2050i. But since the tannoys were double the price, they made no sense at all. After all, hi-fi is the world’s best example of diminishing returns. I am using the q2050i’s with a yamaha rx-v673 av amp. The speakers replaced a pair of tannoy mercury f1 custom ‘bookshelf’ speakers mounted on stands. The difference is extraordinary. The q2050i make you realise just how little realistic bass can be produced by a bookshelf loudspeaker. The frequencies produced by the q2050i go all the way down to the ground, so much so that the cambridge audio s80 subwoofer i was using to augment the tannoys is pretty much redundant. Bass is not overblown, it’s just there where it’s meant to be.

  • Amazing Speakers Q Acoustics 2050i
  • Lovely, just lovely!
  • Great sound and nice pieces of furniture
  • This speaker has its limitations

5 with flat-cap ps, naim nac92 & nap90 amp with naim naca5 cables. I listen to a very varied range of musical styles and am impressed with the scale, dynamics, spatial separation and imaging of these 2050i’s. Delicate and graceful when they need to be, powerful and authoritative when they need to be. Like the naim kit, they don’t try get to get in the way of the music shouting ‘listen to me, listen to me’ they simply vanish and leave you sat in the room with your music. Solid build quality too, beyond any mission, monitor audio, mordaunt short or wharfedale product i’ve previously owned.

This speaker has its limitations. First of all – everybody is an expert when it comes to politics, woman and speakers, this speaker has earned its merits from whathifi famous 5 ster review and i purchased it as a sure buy. I instantly notised lack of detail, high tones coming from ‘deep insade’ the speaker and all highs sounded so filtered and unnatural. Not a problem when you listen high volumes, but decreasing volume brings it totally down. This is a great speaker if you listen 20 -120w power and thats it and even then its noticeble that details are ‘heavy’and lots of high tones are missing. My diagnose for all this are the soft dome tweeters, they are responsible for that filtered, sterilised sound specially at low volumes. I returned this ordinary overhyped set and bought klipsch rf 52 ii, i could not be happier. Sure if your conseption of quality music is that soft dome produced dampered, distorted type filtered sound – buy 2050i, my 15 years old technics ex with soft dome tweeters speakers sounds identically to 2050i at low volume retail value 100£.
