Great sound and well concealed in kitchen.
We have these in our bathroom, living room and kitchen. Really happy with the sound quality. I would definitely recommend.
Bought 2 sets of these speakers to fit into the ceiling of my lounge. Very ‘wife friendly’ and look great. Rigged up to a yamaha dsp 5. 1 surround sound system and a 3m projector. Watching films now is awesome. Make a cut into the ceiling (i had professionally done and skimmed) then put into the hole and turn 3 pins to hold in place. Can be used with or without the white covers. Definately looks better with white grills as they become part of the surroundings. I use with a m&k sub-woofer and when hooked up to spotify or a decent cd player the sounds is very realistic. Also child friendly – no coffee ever going to be spilled on these ;-)buy.

Comments from buyers
, Great quality ceiling speakers.
, Excellent and no need for my old subwoofer
I bought these for the kitchen and had them professionally installed. Some months later i bought a 2nd pair for the bathroom and did a diy job. Very easy to install in a plasterboard ceiling (drill around the supplied templates and finish with a small platerboard saw). Remove grill, insert in ceiling and drive 4 screws home on the lugs to locate in ceiling. Performance is very good in the kitchen and bathroom – although probably a bit too big for the bathroom. At the price probably the best you can get. I’m not sure spending any more would give better quality for this type of speaker.
These speakers are mint i live in my kitchen now i have 2 installed one is 7meters away if i put them in again i wd put them closer or just centralise them morethis is no fault of speakers i just think they are slightly to far apart i read all reviews on other speakers but went for these my sparky fitted them so i have no installation experience of them right as i am a music buff and own a pair of bose headphones music quality matters brilliant base treble etc they currently play off a cambridge amp which don’t distort at full blast prob 30wtts per speaker they are mint look good and we had new year party and kept 30 people happy dancing till late in morning poor neighbours🙌🙌 brilliant product next outside patio ones.
Just hooked them up, very impressed with the sound, bass is adequate and mid / top end very clean and clear, i use ed sheeran, thinking out loud for my reference piece and the speakers handled the acoustic intro cleanly and clearly, bass lines well defined and the shout out quite startling. Electrician commented that they were good quality units and very easy to install.
Have a pair of these plugged into a sonos zone player. The sound quality is very good, without being spectacular. For the price point, i would say they represent good value for money. Plenty of bass and generally, the range is very good. Had them installed by a professional. It looked straightforward and they blend into a white ceiling very well. One consideration on placement – unless you have a lot of insulation, they can be quite audible in the room above, so if you do have some flexibility as to placement try to put under a hall, cupboard, bathroom etc.
Having redesigned my living room it meant i could no longer use the large bulky freestanding speakers i use for the rear 5. 1 surround sound system i have and i needed an alternative. I decided ceiling mounted speakers might be the answer. Quick check on line and these are rated as some of the best you can get, so i bought a set. Installation really was easy once i identified where the ceiling joists were. The speakers come with templates so i offered them up and drew the speaker hole onto the plasterboard. I then drilled a pilot hole then used a plaster hand saw to cut the holes out. I used an electricians fishing rod pole kit to feed the speaker wire through to the speaker from a hole i had drilled near the wall. Connecting the wires to the speakers is easy as they have push contacts.
Lovely, we have them installed in every room in the house.
My friend recommended the rc80’s but being cheap i got these instead. I have two in my kitchen and they are a great touch. Can’t turn volume up more than 50% as they are so loud.
These are excellent speakers, i was considering the larger rc80i’s, but a pair of these fill the room adequately, nowhere near full volume they perform very well in a 7m(l) x 4m(w) x 4m(h) room. I bought a second pair for another room.
I purchased a pair of these from you back in february and they have been installed and sounding fantastic in my kitchen ceiling for nearly a year, however one of them has recently started sounding really distorted and if i turn volume a little over speaking volume my amp cuts out and displays overload. I have swapped pairs on amp and it’s still the same speaker. Anything i can do or is it a return?updatecontacted mike about a possible return to base for repair , sent speakers back and got a new pair in return no quibbles, excellent customer service.
Bought these to fit in the celling replace a couple of really good goodmans shelf speakers when we we refurbished our kitchen. I ran the shelf speakers with a half decent subwoofer, off a pretty good lepai 2. I was wondering where to put the subwoofer in the new kitchen, but once i wired these polks up, the sound was wonderful – warm, rounded, crisp and space filling – all without the sub.In retrospect, i could have done with my ceiling being a little higher and/or the speakers a little closer together – but altogether very happy.
Very easy to install in ceiling, quality of sound will largely be dictated by amp. We used a relatively low price range one £80, which had optical and bluetooth. Allows skyq to be connected via optical as we also have the sky sound bar so overall impact is full surround sound. The blue tooth option also allows mobile devices to be connected to speakers. Be careful when pushing wired grill into recess so as not to dent with fingers.
Very impressed with this quality product which was well packaged and delivered efficiently. I have four hooked up to a sonos connect:amp in the ceiling of our family room and the sound all around the l-shaped room is great quality and well balanced.
Mounted these in the ceiling of a large new build garden room about 6m apart. Good sound quality and fills the room.
These look and sound great but they are twice the price as on amazon. Com – i bought 3 more sets in the us.
Bought 2 sets of these and tested them whilst not in the ceiling as i was waiting for the ceiling to be done and they sounded okay. Now the ceiling is done, i am very surprised how good they sound. They are very limited bass wise, but that is to be expected which is why i also bought a sub woofer. So with these speakers and my sub, i have a very nice sound in my kitchen diner now, so very pleased indeedinstallation was very easy, and they look great and all my mates that have been round think they both look and sound excellent.
Firstly the reality is that fitting speakers into a ceiling of a kitchen is clearly not an audiophile act and i don’t expect that level of musical quality. With that caveat in mind what i can say is that these are great for the application i used them for. Sound quality is excellent and far louder than i’ll use in normal day to day usage. They are discrete and almost flush which was a pre-requisit given that my kitchen is fairly low in height. The build quality is high and they have a nice ‘weightiness’ about them that suggests this. Of course polk is a well known good quality brand and i expected nothing less. I use these with a middling teac multizone amp and really can’t complain given the price and installation.
I have had many sets of ceiling speakers in my time. Every single set, expensive or non brand cheapo ones just do not satisfy my high end quality hifi ears. They have all sounded tinny and weak. Got them installed in my bathroom (and its a v large bathroom) and they just fill the room with incredible sound. Bass is surprisingly strong and vocals are magical. I have them connected to a sonos connect amp and it gives out plenty of power to drive these bad-boys. Their isn’t much more today.
Ceiling mounted in my newly refurbished kitchen. They sound great and are completely unobtrusive. I am driving my with a sonos connect amp.
These are excellent speakers in every way. Easy to fit with useful templates to assist accurate cutting and simple method of securing them in place. The final result superb sound from such a small size of speaker and an elegant appearance.
