. Blows the completion out of the water, british design, british made.
Sounds great in a very compact package. Could be used as your main sound system if you added the sub. I’ll be doing that at some point.
Great kit, easy to apir, easy on the ears. The full sized driver is excellent, battery life is nearly forever and its handy being portable to throw in the bag. I take mine to work and surprise people with a big deep sound from my desk and it’s not a massive fart. This one i bought for my son at uni and he loves it for his student halls room.
I really love the sound it produces. It provides a warm but flat and punchy and clean sound. Obviously for best sound quality use a wire connection but its bluetooth 0. 4 system supports aptx which is a plus. It can be really loud without distorting the sound and keeping a good dynamic range unlike the jbl extreme. This is amazing considering its size. I currently have only one but in the future when i have the money i will buy one more speaker and also the subwoofer for a stereo system and extended deep bass. You will love these speakers. They are also handmade in the uk.
Best buy in ages, especially as friends have one so can connect and have a party.
Very disappointing first day experience, wired connection appeared to work fine, bluetooth connection very quiet, after a few hours on the apple help desk bluetooth volume restored to iphone 5s, itunes songs would stop playing mid track at random times, there was no accompanying sounds when switching on and off. Towards the end of the day i was about to give up and admit that a very highly recommended product would have to be returned. I did the recommended factory reset and everything was fine. I have been using the minirig for 4 days now and it is excellent, we have a ue boom in the house as well and there’s not a lot in it, minirig has more clarity with good base at lower volumes which reduces as you wind it up and it does go loud. Without the day one issues i would have given this 5 stars, it is a well made quality product. Update: just had a mothers day gathering of 40 odd people, plenty of macbooks, phones and bluetooth speakers. Speakers – ue roll, ue boom, sony srs x11, easyacc, bose mini link, minirigs and jbl flip 2 and we decided to sound check. First, based on the price, all the speakers delivered something and can be recommended. Song choice for test was ‘use somebody- pixie lott’ ‘stiches-shawn mendes’ and ‘tompkins square park- mumford and sons’ and if you want a portable bluetooth speaker that delivers 9/10, the minirig won hands down based on battery life and the ability to charge your phone when it ran out before your speaker.
- sounds great but the battery didn’t do a full day
- Very good sounding and well built Bluetooth 0.4 portable speaker
- Second one bought for Son at UNI
Excellent battery life, good sound quality. Overall good value little portable speaker.
Fantastic sound quality for such a small speaker.
Great sound, easy connection, highly recommended.
Brilliant littl speaker, i didn’t think it would have the oomph to impress but once we linked it up (very easily) it played all my phone & laptop music superbly. Great piece of kit i would highly recommend this.
Make sure this fits
by entering your model number.
Lovely sound with decent bass from a small unit, worth every penny. Not sure i understand the point of low gain though.
Excellent sound from this little speaker, well worth the purchase.
Amazing sound, great purchase.
Neat speaker for blue tooth listening also good to boost tv sound. Good quality sound for size.
As with all purchases i read review after review, watched videos etc, and decided enough is enough and bought it. I already own the bose soundlink mini but wanted a loud portable speaker to last a weekend at a festival. And boy it didn’t disappoint. It had the people in the surrounding tents dancing and had far more throw and volume than the bose could reach, and any other speaker around. I can’t comment on the battery as i recharged on the second day, purely because i wanted to see if it charged from a portable usb power bank, which it did. The bass stays punchy at full volume, whereas my bose ‘clips’ the top end. The vocals remain clear and the connectivity has never been a problem. I would still use my bose indoors for a more civilised ‘warm’ sound from my music however when a party vibe is called upon and volume needed, i’ll reach for the minirig. Once turned on its default is low, but a press of the power button switches it to high.
Fantastic little device, great sound.
SOUND FIRST – The MINIRIG portable Bluetooth speaker includes a single custom high efficiency 3″ driver, which is able to connect with the air to achieve a clear and balanced full-range sound in all directions.
This is an outstanding bluetooth speaker with a sound that blows away the competition. Connect to your iphone by bluetooth or cable. Charge the battery and it will last days not hours. I tested all sorts including cheapos from china. I considered sony, libratone, jbl, ultimate ears, anker and bose. I very nearly bought the ue boom 2. I finally found the minirig when i did a search of bluetooth speakers made in the uk. I also have a pair of ruark mr1 speakers either side of my laptop on my desk which are great. This little beauty goes with me around the house and outside. I originally wanted a speaker to listen to audiobooks, so the one speaker would be ok for voice. I also tried playing spotify and it is great.
Beautiful sound esp if you put it on the floor and let the vibes into wood.
Christmas present which was much appreciated. Everyone who has seen this speaker are impressed.
Quite simply the best bluetooth speaker out there. You won’t believe the volume & quality out of such a small speaker.
Everything i want in a portable speakermarvellous sound, and well worth the 5 stars given :).
Excellent little speaker, packs a powerful punch for a nice compact well designed portable speaker with a good sound.
MORE THAN A WEEKEND OF PLAYTIME – Simply turn on, connect and you can enjoy up to 80 hours of playtime anywhere (average battery life of 40 hours)!
However, when it’s connected to my laptop and hasn’t been played for a while it’ll crackle when there’s a windows sound or a message notification. Something about the amp inside it, i guess. It’s mentioned in the manual and there is a workaround but makes it the minirig somewhat unsuitable as a laptop speaker replacement.
This is definitely one of the best purchases i’ve ever made. I can take my music anywhere with me, it’s light and sounds great (and goes loud).
Introduced to the minirig by my son. This is an excellent product: compact, robust, well-designed and well-made (in bristol) and providing really good sound quality. Just bought a second one to link up for stereo output, using the £10 discount provided with the first minirig.
Excellent product – well made, great sound, very easy to use.
Good sound with the right source and amazing battery life.
Great product with clear sound quality, i use it religiously and the battery life is amazing.
Good sound, great battery life,.
FLEXIBLE CONNECTIVITY – Ability to remember up to 8 devices and connect to 2 devices at the same time. Add a second MINIRIG for truly immersive wireless stereo sound.
Well worth the cost the sound is brill.
A significant improvement on the original minirig which itself was already a fantastic speaker. Low-end bass is excellent and markedly improved from the original model. The price has gone up a bit but a lot of r&d has clearly gone into creating this excellent product – the innovation is worth every penny.
And that’s the speaker sorted. Tried the bose unit 1st, sounds great but the battery didn’t do a full day. Also had a jambox mini for 14 months but battery life on that is 5 hours. . And the speaker is done after 14 months of flat out volume. . But i bought my mum one for xmas and it’s absolutely faultless. Small update now i’ve been using it a few weeks. 70 hours plus battery life.
Great birthday present, really good sound quality much better than previous mini speakers we have had.
Yes, the speaker is brilliant – just as was to be expected. I was surprised, though, that the minirig box it came in, was extremely dirty and covered in dust – that was initially not very reassuring. And the ios app could most definitely do with some tweaks and improvements: it is very frustrating having to turn bluetooth off and back on again every single time for the app to connect. The ‘dim-the-led’ feature is a silly little gimmick. A window in the app showing the music/playlist being played would be immensely useful. And how about a volume slider and, perhaps, even an eq, rather than just a high gain/low gain option. But again, the speaker itself is really, really wonderful.
