Logitech Z625 Powerful THX Sound Speakers : Amazing sound quality.

Awesome piece of kit 400w of pure sound ecstasy. I think i will have to repoint the bricks of the house due to the cement turning to dust. Plus the dear old neighbours will have to get new dentures i’m sure. They haven’t complained yet. . Maybe their hearing is 10% of what it was but they can’t stop the vibes .

Only set these up today of writing, and had to write the review. Admittedly i had also just upgraded my sound card from a creative omni external to the awesome creative zxr pcie. I was using the (again creative) kratos 2. 1 pc speakers, but i wanted something with a little more punch to compliment the new card. 00 for the kratos s3s and to be honest they were pretty good for the money. I’ve had logitech speakers previously and was never really that impressed, but these z623s were just off the scale for the £75 paid. I was a bit concerned initially. Reviews seemed ok, and having the thx standard i was just a bit worried they would fall short for a sub £100 set of 2. Thankfully though, my concerns were short lived. Firstly: just unpacking them you could see and feel they were of good quality. The two satellite speakers, despite being compact, were heavy and felt sturdy. The solid volume control, bass, and power button, along with the thx logo give the speakers a real rugged look. The sub-woofer was surprisingly bigger than i thought and it really packs a punch and was also of a solid build quality. I ran a couple of thx test videos from youtube, and the bass from this set up just knocked me over. I watched a netflix film, played plenty of music through them, as well as ran my ps4 (via pc optical line-in) through them and really couldn’t find much to disappoint. I’m happy to give this 5 stars across the board. For £75, they’re worth every penny. I will also add that i was using these in a small environment.

Sturdy construction and more bass than you’ll ever need. Feels like a quality product but the sound is slightly lacklustre. If there was a bit more mid to high range oomph these would sound great but i’m forever turning them up to get that immersive experience. They’re fine for my tiny desk i have my pc on but if i had a dedicated gaming room i’d want something better.

I’ve used these for over a year now. They have been used in various different scenarios, and in each of them they have excelled. Currently, they are my main speakers in my lounge. Frequently they get used for gaming, as well as movie watching. They are brilliant for both of these, unless you are looking for the full surround sound experience. Only having two speakers means you only really get a sense of whether a noise is coming from the left or right, but rarely is that an issue. The bass level can be changed to allow you to get the right depth of sound for the content you are using them for. The bass can go up to a very high level, much higher than you would ordinarily want. My regular usage of the speakers has the bass set to about 1/3 of it’s maximum level.

  • Thumping amazing
  • Great speakers, very loud and very clear
  • Great value for money, but have a design flaw

This was a perfect solution to my sound system requirements. I wanted to boost my mac sound so i could listen to itunes library downloads and cd rips, and also provide amp and speaker capabilities for a record player so that i could resurrect my old vinyl record collection, and i only have limited space and didn’t want a full hifi system because i had nowhere to stand it. I acquired an old (but good quality high end) technics turntable, a small inexpensive pre amp, an inexpensive digital / audio converter, then i use apple’s garageband software as a graphic equaliser, then out putted from my mac into my new logitech speakers. So i now have a really good set up that didn’t cost a fortune. The speakers look good, and sound great. The bass is deep, crisp and clear, the clarity is amazing when it’s set up correctly. . You must have the subwoofer on the floor i think, and try to have the 2 speakers as far away left and right as the wires allow you to, and the separation and sound quality is very good. For the price, i think it’s good value for money, and i have heard much more expensive sound systems that do not sound as good as this. I usually listen with the bass setting at half (in its notch) and adjust any remaining bass using my graphics equaliser software. I find it personally uncomfortable to listen to much higher bass as my hearing is not great in my left ear.

Wow, unbelievable sound quality for the price. Paid 75 quid for the set when on offer just before christmas, the bass is simply stunning and is complemented by crisp and clear higher end sound. Purchased to replace my previous logitech ten year old system, which i was happy with, but this just blows it away. Overall an amazing quality sound system for the money, you will not regret buying this, love it.

I have these in my room with the bluetooth connector. I spend most of my time at home listening to music and these are probably one of the best purchases i’ve made in the past year. Really loud, good bass, bluetooth connector is reliable, and did i mention that they’re loud. Would recommend finding an acceptable max volume and bass level when you get them and leave the dials there.

Fantastic product, sound quality is fantastic just from the motherboard connection, actually makes me want to get a sound card, they’re just that good. The sub woofer is absolutely massive but that makes the bass all that more booming which i love. The only real gripe i have is when the volume is turned too low, the left speaker outputs sound at a higher volume compared to the right but this fixes itself when the volume is turned up higher. Overall, these speakers come highly recommended for the price, really gives a new dimension to old familiar tracks.

These speakers pack a punch. An explosive wall of sound no crackles, clear and crisp. The price is pretty excellent too, the cheapest i could find that weren’t second hand or refurbished. Arrived on schedule as usual for amazon. I had to wrestle it out of its packaging which consisted of its outer amazon box, then a tight fitting and robust vacuum pack and then its inner box. It was so easy to set up, took minutes, came with all the leads you need. I was worried that the subwoofer may be too big, but i needn’t have, its large but not intrusive. The whole set feels reassuringly robust and branded with its thx labels had the feel of a premier product at close to budget prices. Turn up the base and it will shake your windows out of their housings or failing that the fillings out of your teeth.

High build quality and convenient wiring. Most importantly sound – all ranges sounds clean and crispy. Booster packs way more power than most would ever need for home use. I like how it sounds very good with low and high volume. Some sounds systems change the sound colour depending on volume.

A definite upgrade from my previous speakers, the sound quality has never failed to amaze me. I combine these bad boys with an internal sound card, and wow does it sound brilliant. They perform well in all types of music, sounds, but the base is brilliantly deep and rich; which is adjustable. I mainly use these for watching movies, listening to music and the occasional game – which they perform exceptional in. These aren’t the most newest speakers on the market, but are definitely reliable, tried and tested, and worth the upgrade; if you need more of a punch from your speakers. Would highly recommend if you do not want to break the bank for good sound.

Been looking at the z623 for some time and then came across the z625. It was used but though for the price what could wrong. Thankfully, nothing has gone wrong so far. The sub woofer is a monster, kicking out deep rumbling bass lines that do actually shake the walls. Could have done with a treble volume knob. Alongside the bass volume but i’m not complaining. The woofer is rated at 200w rms and 400w peak and i have to say that i haven’t been able to put the main volume and bass volumes past half way for fear of annoying the neighbours. These are not for your typical audiophile as sound is not exceptional but it’s good enough. I have purchased a little application called fx sound enhancer (basically a software eq) to enhance the overall sound experience when not using a dedicated music app like windows media player of itunes that have eq built in. Would i recommend these speakers??.

Got them used with a significant discount and i have to say i’m loving the amazon marketplace. I must have saved about £40 quid on them and they are basically new. Would highly recommend even at full price because they are worth it. The sound is nice and crisp, the bass is loud and powerful and they can get very loud too. If you are on a budget and need nice speakers for personal use then these are it.

And they are seriously loud, i very rarely turn it up past the quarter mark for fear of annoying my housemates and my neighbours. It’s worth doing every now and then on some of the more punchy songs though, because it would be a waste not toi’m no audiophile and am a little deaf, so i may not be the best judge of audio quality, but the bass is very clean and can be adjusted easily from one of the satellite speakers. My deafness means that i can’t hear higher pitches, but i’ve noticed details in songs that i hadn’t before after i bought these speakers. I’ve not used it for watching movies really so i can’t comment on the thx certification. There’s no static buzz and they’re totally easy to set up. It’s a shame about the proprietary cable, but a minor detail really. All in all a great set of speakers if you’re just an average joe looking for something decent.

These are absolutely amazing. I have had them for 4 years plus now (late review alert) and i can say this is the best money i have spent on speakers. For a novice when it comes to sound technology, i can say i am impressed. Using layman’s terms i can say the speakers are loud but do not distort music, crisp, clear and the bass shakes a large room. If they broke i would definitely pick up another set no hesitation.

Amazing sound — i’m afraid to have the volume or bass settings too high, since they’re so awesome, i think might neighbours might complain. Only gripe is that the cable attaching the right speaker is not very long for my particular pc set up, which had to be reconfigured around the furniture just to accommodate — but certainly worth it.

Logitech z623 perfect for quality deep bass. Even samsung 350 watts sound bars not giving powerful bass. Comes with thx certified so you perfectly feels theatre sound. Person interested in powerful deep bass this is right product for them. Deep bass feel like vibrating stuff. Strictly recommended for deep bass lovers.

But a little too much bass for my environment. Very powerful output but found the bass a little too overpowering for general music listening and watching movies, even when set at its lowest levels the bass seemed to vibrate through the walls & floors. Not conducive for keeping in with your neighbours . Otherwise great sound system.

Good for the reduced black friday price. I would not pay over £80 for these though. 1 logitech before (but i broke the sub woofer) and they were better quality sound (more detail) and better features, but you pay more for that. Otherwise pretty good, bass is loud and boomy, no treble control is a touch annoying, pretty warm sound signature. Enough to fill a big room with just above basic quality sound. If i was to buy again i’d probably look for a 5. But if your on a strict budget, you’ll be happy with these.

The quality and build of them are fantastic. Holding them they feel sturdy and have a good weight to them. They will go louder than you’d need for any house party. It was on sale when i bought it for £104 and what a bargain it was. The earphone jack and aux input on the right speaker is a time saver and the volume knob + bass knob being so accessible is greati had bought trust vigor speakers to try out and i really wanted bluetooth but i sacrificed bluetooth and tried these beautiful speakers. Worth every penny and i should have gone for them to begin with.

I picked them after a laborious researching process and it seems that paid off. My old speakers (not these) broke and these were a step up, they’re exactly what i wanted. I had such fun cranking the volume up and letting rage against the machine roar – it felt like a seismic event. Excellentgood for nomal volume use too. Sometimes they can be a bit bass heavy but you can simply turn the bass knob down a bit. Can’t say i have any complaints about these speakers.

I’ve so far owned 3 different speaker systems of this exact model. They all slowly, but steadily developed and exacerbated the same problem – the volume knob causing a lot static noise whenever it is touched. At the begging there is no static, or it’s very low volume. But in time, it just keeps getting worse. My current one at my home causes static that is twice as loud as the music that i’m playing. I use them for my pc, so i always adjust the volume from the knob on the speaker. Really disappointing that they haven’t made them more durable. Many years before this model was out, i had the x-530 model – same issue with the volume knob. After using logitech speakers for more than 10 years, i’m kind of used to the fact that i seem like the worst dj whenever i change the volume of my music, but for my next speakers i will definitely try another brand.

  1. I ordered these speakers with little hesitation. The only hesitation i had was the fact that i was converting from some studio monitors (behringer ms40’s to be precise). They handled high frequencies, acoustic music flawlessly. I wanted something with a punch. Something that enabled me to feel music again with the thumps of the low end frequencies. With monitors i didn’t get that as i didn’t have a sub woofer. Yes i could buy one separately but i didn’t have the means of plugging it in with more cables and the lack of a usb sound-card interface. Out of the box i fully understood why i purchased them in the first place, my god the subwoofer is amazing. I have it placed on three pieces of sound absorbing foam and it really does tighten up the bass response. Kick drums on songs feels like i’m kicking it myself. Without doing any tweaking i noticed it was mainly just bass and treble, no mid. Determined to get the best out of them i configured my sound-card to reproduce the highest bit rate possible.

I have had the previous version z623 for about five years now (only difference is they have added a optical digital input into this). The sound is well rounded and you cant tell where the bass is coming from. You can crank these up until the neighbours complain and there will be no distortion.

Really good speakers, the bass is great, volume range. I’m currently using them as my tv speakers and they are doing a great job 🙂 eventually i’ll move them to my imac, to replace my 10+ years old logitech speakers. I have high hopes for the longevity of these speakers based on the previous pair i bought. The only reason i am replacing the old speakers is because at certain high volume levels, the speakers start to crackle :(logitech are a great brand and so far they haven’t failed me.

I had high hopes for these but that unfortunately wasn’t accomplished. Although these logitech z623 are visually appealing, they are nothing like in performance compared to the trusty older z2300. This subwoofer size of 7 inches makes a dramatic difference vs the bigger subwoofers like the z906 or again like in the z2300. The z623 bass is over-punchy and just rattles surroundings instead of being deep, strong and force pounding like its predecessor; the z2300. I don’t like these speakers since they are not worthy successors in name nor specifications and when turned half way up to 50% on volume, the subwoofer discharges a nasty chemical smell (cheap internal hardware) each second the bass pounding air hits out. To some people however these z623 will be provide more than enough power for them to be satisfied. For me however, the z906 is the only true acceptable successor to the z2300, not the z623. I want to return them as the ones i bought are in new quality with original packaging.

    • Bought these as my old speakers went bang. As soon as i got them i put everything full volume and put on some bass boosted music. I’m the top floor of my 3-floor uni flat. I went downstairs, left my windows open and blasted it. Could feel the vibrations through the building and the music echoed around the campus. I would do more than recommend these for the power and the price. If these ever died i would just directly replace them. (removed the grill as i prefer it without).

These speakers are terrifyingly amazing. The quality of sound and the punch they pack, all within a moderately-sized package, is astounding. As other reviewers have pointed out, these are excruciatingly-loud, distortion-free speakers. 200 watts rms is a lot of power.Make sure the roof of your home is anchored firmlyfrequency response is fabulous, and tests in my own house with pure sine waves show these can descend to 30hz, assuming you move around the room to find the various “sweet spots”, sometimes necessary with low frequencies in smaller rooms such as mine. 20hz is really pushing it, but i believe the thx specifications claim speaker systems bearing their logo can go down to 20hz at -6db, so the fall-off at such a low frequency is to be expected – but we are talking here about notes that would normally be generated only by church or cathedral organs – or synthesisers. Last night, i played, at high volume level, the earth-shattering toccata from the “suite gothique” by leon boellmann, as performed by daniel chorzempa somewhere in the usa on what must be a giant pipe organ. The logitech speakers almost blasted me from my seat. If you’ve never heard this track, then buy the cd, “high tech organ” (philips 4266812), if only as a test piece – you won’t regret it. When selecting these logitech z623 speakers, it was a choice between them and the creative gigaworks t3s, but i opted for the slightly more powerful logitechs, and am sure i made a good choice.

If you’re scared to buy this because you don’t want an expensive mistake. Let me put your mind at ease. Clean and crisp with no distortion at all. For tv, films and gaming it sounds beautiful. For music at prees, it’s definitely powerful enough for your friends to enjoy during drinks and your neighbors to hate you. Bigger than i’d expect but given the bass booms i wouldn’t have it any other way. Only negatives: doesn’t have a remote control. Doesn’t support bluetooth, so can’t use phone wirelessly or at all if you’re iphone gang like me.

      • Ok so i still own logitech z2300, fantastic speakers with powerfull punchy dynamic sub and wonderfull sound quality. Logitech z623 where supposed to be a successor to z2300 and i’m just supprised how much inferior the newer ones are compared to the older ones. First huge diference is sub. On older ones z2300 sub enclosure was much larger and driver itself was 8″. It had a decent amp built in and produced wonderfull low end with punchy, dynamic powerfull bass that could shake the whole house when needed. Z623 sub is smaller, driver is smaller as well 7″, sub dynamics are horrible, its not punchy at all, only thing it does really well is producing boomy noise which overpowers mids and hights. Ive found that reducing eq in 60hz range helped a bit but the sub was still boomy. Also covering bass reflex helped with bass dynamics. Satelites drivers are simmilar but sound wise something is missing/lacking as well. I’m returning mine and will stick to older ones.

    • 03/2014 still working perfectly, the sub woofer should be isolated from any surface with speaker spikes if possible and mount the satellites on good old blu-tack. Being a bit of a hi-fi nut for most of my life (i’m 38). With “soundblaster x-fi extreme” 40 quids worth of sound card. They are straight of the box today and i’m a firm believer in breaking in any set of speakers for at least a week of daily use before getting the best results. My initial experience so far has been very satisfying, and after reading the bad reviews due to various reasons i was a bit nervous when i pressed the not very firm feeling power button. On first use there a little pop and crackle but after gently working the volume dial. There is nothing but silent operation and the dials feel firm and slick. There is no hissing or sound of any interference while operating the controls. There is also no sound imbalance at any volume. (with the exception of the very lowest point as the dial hits bottom. The sound is nice, clean and effortless with great clarity and detail even at the very lowest volumes.

  11. Well packaged, with everything inside being protected against knocks and bumps. I’ve had lots of logitech speakers in the past, but nothing i’ve had comes close to the weight of these. The subwoofer is huge and the speakers are a good size too. The performance is fantastic. I got the speakers on offer at £124. 99 and i can’t see how i could do any better at this price point. The bass is deep and there’s no distortion at all as you crank up the volume. I read online that the mid-range could be a little high, and i agree, but it’s nothing that can’t be solved through an adjustment to the equaliser in windows and/or whatever software you’ll be using with them.

    • Well the speakers have a seriously nice sound quality for the £75 i got them for on black friday deals. Yet the first set i got sent the right satellite cable connecting to the sub was faulty, sometimes the sub would work and other times it would be dead. This is a big problem that logitech hasn’t addressed even though it seems to be a common fault with longer times of use and moving the system about / temperature ect ect, but this isn’t acceptable for a brand new system. I got a replacement sent and it has been working perfectly with the sub every time. I am very happy with the purchase but pray that the system lives up to its normal retailing cost.

    • It is reasonably loud but the base is flat and the midrange isn’t great either. There are so many reviews saying how great these are, the reviews went a long way towards me buying them. If you are looking for audiophile quality, look elsewherei would not recommend these.

I was slightly hesitant to buy these as they have a few poor reviews about sound quality. All i can say is ignore themi bought these as i got some z337’s at a local high-street store and they distorted when given any amount of volume and were cheaply thrown together. So i thought i’d try the higher up model. 3 days later i’m still blown away. The highs and mids are crystal clear, the bass shakes my entire living room. I use these on a gaming pc connected via optical cable and these have brought a whole new dynamic to the games i play. For the money, highly highly recommended.
    • I was slightly hesitant to buy these as they have a few poor reviews about sound quality. • I have previously had an onkyo ht-x22hdx which i sold a while back when i was short of space and was recently using some very small and thin designer style logitech speakers that cost around 40 gbp. My cheaper logitechs were quite impressive given how ridiculously thin the speakers were but they could be tinny and distort at times. My new z623 speakers are very impressive and are every bit as good to my “consumer” ears as the onkyo which cost twice the price. I use them for my pc and they are overkill for that task and won’t distort at all at any volume i’d dare use when sat this close to them. I have a very large monitor and use my pc for everything from gaming to movies to tv to music. I’d say they would also be more than adequate in an average uk sized living room or bedroom for someone wanting to use them with their tv or games console and would no doubt cause huge annoyance to neighbours or parents long before they reach a volume where you would experience distortion. They are more than just “loud” if you know what i mean. There is so much more detail than on my cheaper speakers or the ones built into my 40″ samsung tv. The sound to my untrained ears is very deep and rich with a lot of crisp detail on the higher notes. This means you can kind of run them at a lower volume level and still pick out everything.
