KitSound Boom Evolution Link Multi-Room Audio Wireless Music Streaming System : Mutli-room audio to rival them all!

This is an amazing piece of kit.  this is an amazing piece of kit. If you are looking for an affordable yet reliable, good sounding streaming system, then this is all you need to look at. Yes sonos and the others are good (leaders even) but this not only keeps up with them, it’s price tag smashing them out of the park. You can set up your whole house with these vs a price of a sonos bridgein order to help anyone looking at this product with interest, i did a bit of a box opening review. Please note i have not polished this other then cut out some boring bits. The rest was all on the fly as i used it and i think it simply shows how simple the set up and play back can be with these units.

I generally have a pretty poor experience with most electrical items not matching up to expectations. I wasn’t expecting much of this product given the price. Surprised, this is an excellent product at a great price. Easy to setup, no latency on my pretty average internet connection between rooms. Does exactly what it says on the box. Sound quality i can’t fault either. I’ll be buying another couple.

Quality at a very low price. I was looking for another kitsound link multiroom audio wireless enabler to add to my network when i cam across this ovation bundle at the price of 62 quid. Given the best price i can find on the enabler alone is over 30 quid that makes it about 30 quid for the sound bar – remarkable value. I have a number of allplay devices – and they sync together to give multi room connectivity – with excellent quality sound – better than the chomecast audio. The soundbar itself is decent – and well worth the the 100 quid plus you would normally pay. It benefits from great connectivity – hdmi, optical, aux and bluetooth. It is quite heavy and shiny black, but it sits well on the rubber feet – and comes with a wall mounting kit. The downside of the wall mount option is that it will limit the effect of the rear bass ports – but that said it puts out a powerfull full range sound – with a stereo music and vitual expanded plus a quiet option which seems to remove all the bottom end. It will be plenty loud enough for most medium to large size rooms. I suspect that the price of these represents the end of line clearance – but at the time of writing there are 4 left in stock.

From pc to any speaker in the house – brill. Awesome piece of kit that allows you to play music from your pc to any speaker in the house that has a 3. Simple to use, easy to connect, and very good value for money, as you don’t have to purchase a whole new bunch of speakers.

Great for multi-room, but make sure you get at least 2. Anyone who reads my reviews knows that i am all about technology that not only does something that i could never have imagined before that it could ever do, but is also really simple to use. I don’t want to be spending half of my life trying to set up something, and chances are i will just leave it if i spend ages without any luck. That is exactly why i was quite hesitant when it came to this product. I could easily see why someone would want it, but could someone like me actually use it?the packaging of the kitsound link is absolutely gorgeous, and it gives a really enjoyable unboxing experience. I loved the silver and the grey tones all over, something that kitsound has done for a few other products (i think) to highlight that they are really premium. There are tonnes of icons and bubbles and everything, which is great but something that you cannot really get from amazon (check out my photographs for more details). I have to be honest though, and just as i have experienced with other kitsound products, it can be ridiculously difficult to get into them. The actual box wasn’t so bad, but because of the way the tag was fitted, i had to really wrench it to get it off.Make sure that you are happy with potentially destroying part of the packaging to actually get to it.

Multiple zone tech without having to replace existing equipment. I’ve never really been a fan of sonos because of the limitations it brings in supported devices. The concept however is something i have desired for years, i have many zoned in my house all that i would have liked to have linked. Earlier this year i wired in my kef in ceiling system to a multi zone amp out to a custom garden installation, to which we connect via bluetooth. Where was the link when we installed this??. The saving i would have made by separating the zones would have more than paid for a couple of kitsound links but also would have made connecting more sleek, currently zones are controlled by a mixer built into the wall. Using the link i could have selected the zone on the app by a friendly name with no need for manual adjustment. But enough about that lets review the product at hand. I received two link boxes to hook up my marantz 7009 b&w cm9 system in the lounge and the custom installation at the rear of the house. Unboxingi received two boxes about 15cm x 7, tightly packed inside was the unit, usb cable, plug adapter and manuals.

A 5-star product but deserves only 3 star for this purchase. Setup:the device does what it claims to be. The setup is easy, except that i need to read the manual carefully in order to find out how to connect the device with my router via wps. Once connected and i downloaded the allplay app, the rest is super easy. Sound:the sound is very good even i use the analog output. It is very difficult for me to tell the difference between its analog output versus my usd1,500 streamer output. The device comes with a digital optical output so you can always use an external dac if you want. Why removed 2 stars:it did not look like a new device when i received it.

I took a punt on these and i am so happy i did. I have wanted a ‘sonos’ type system in my house for some time but have avoided buying sonos because i just didnt want to be chained into their system. I took a punt on these and i am so happy i did. I recognised kitsound from the pulse radio i have (still running great) so when i saw that they had come up with this solution it seemed like a good choice. I bought 2 so i could do the lounge and the kitchen. Set up – 9/10set up on this was a flipping dream. I downloaded the app to my phone. Then i powered up the first one, (had to use one of the many usb mains chargers i had lying around as there was not one in the box – i would take half a star off for that but i cant so i’m leaving it at 5 and taking a point off the 10 for set up) i waited a bit for it to boot up then pressed the wps key on it followed by the wps key on my router. By the time i had walked back into the lounge it had a solid white light on it.

High quality, very versatile – very impressed. . Having tested these out, i’ve now bought 4 of these ‘links’ and have them up and running in my house. I’ve had a whole house audio system running for over 12 years but the driving component (a pc through a high quality soundcard) is getting decidedly long in the tooth and it was time to change. I’d been tempted a number of times by sonos but the price for the connect units of nearly £300 was prohibitive when considering 4-6 zones. Plus, i didn’t like it that they had dropped their specific controllers in favour of phones/tablet apps. So a couple of things have changed. With fingerprint recognition on the iphone, the speed of unlocking to change a setting or volume is much less of an issue, so i was prepared to go with the flow on that. Reasonable price to experiment with, open standard. They are very easy to configure. I just switched on, connected by tablet to their own network and then followed the prompts to give the box a zone name (e. Kitchen) and then picked the house wireless network and entered the password. I have a nas box that runs a dlna server that provides streaming of all mp3 tracks on the nas but also internet radio. This gets picked up by the link app as ‘network media’ and just work seamlessly. The link boxes are plugged via phono cables to a multi-channel power amp that distributes music to the wired in speakers around the house. The jukebox app then acts as the controller over wifi with music being streamed direct from the nas to the link units.

I was surprised how much i like these. I’ve had this pair for a month now and i like them more than i thought i would. They are very small and light. Some may say they haven’t got much ‘substance’ to them, but it’s electronics. Being powered by usb is very nice. I have recently installed several socket faces with 2 usb ports and devices like this allow me to plug in 4 devices before needing to resort to extension leads. Their small footprint means they can be tucked into small available spaces. Setup was quite simple, although i did have to change the wifi password encryption type, but that’s no bad thing as i had to make it more secure. Even without the convenient wps button it’s just a case of connecting to the devices wifi, setting up things on the page, then back to your normal wifi. The quality of the music is flawless as far as my average ears can tell, and the app is very responsive. A change of volume, a pause, skip; all are immediately actioned. I haven’t used the two at once as of yet, but with mine placed in the garage and the living room, there will be (warmer) days when projects have me running to and from the garage, and being able to continue listening to my music as i move around will be great. Talking of moving around, when i used to have my phone plugged into my stereo to listen to music i would have to keep going back to it to change track, skip a dud, or queue up something i just thought of. Having the music control in your pocket makes that so much easier.

A sound piece of kit from kitsound.  as someone who is quite heavily invested in multi-room audio from another manufacturer, i was interested to learn about allplay software as a viable, cross-platform alternative. Competition is a good thing, and as much as i like the kit i currently have, it doesn’t really play well with the existing speaker systems and stereos i have in my home. Or rather it does (with the use of a sonos connect), but whilst that is an excellent piece of kit, it is now old and quite expensive for what it does. So i was interested to learn about the kitsound link as a product which could easily link my existing hifi and speakers to both the music i have on a nas, and also the streaming services i use (spotify being the main one). The cost of the link units is incredible for the functionality they provide, so i was keen to give them a go. My office hifi is not hooked up to any other zone, so the link was an opportunity to be able to easily add multi-room between there and my main hifi room. Hardware and setupthe link units are packaged very well, and upon removing them from their packaging they appear well made and a smart design. They are light in weight, but well finished plastics and could easily be hidden or left on display, depending on your preference. Mine were packaged with usb power adapters and 3. 5mm audio leads, but as i already had these in place with my hi-fi, i simply swapped them in and completed the very simple setup procedure as per the instructions. I must confess to leaping straight in to setup without reading the instructions, and whilst i got something playing very quickly, i later realised that i was in the direct connection mode which hooks up the device (my phone) and link directly, rather than via the network. Realising this wasn’t exactly what i wanted at the time as i was more keen to stream music from my nas, i started again reading the manual to make sure i got it right. After a brief scan of the manual, i used the wps feature of my router and the link to make it’s wireless connection, and it worked perfectly.

The product itself is excellent. Easy to set up and a huge sound quality difference from bluetooth. Spotify sounds so much better than it did being sent over xptx. Unfortunately i purchased a pack of two units from amazon but the box only contained one. Trying to get the other one sent out felt like groundhog day when speaking with amazon’s customer service representative over their chat app. Great device, not great amazon.

Mutli-room audio to rival them all. I’m an avid fan of multi-room audio and have played with a combination of technologies to achieve what i really want. The competition in the last year has ramped up as the other big corporate players have adorned us with their equivalent offerings, which in my opinion are still playing catch up with their unstable apps and flaky reliability. As with all new technologies there will always be glitches and bugs in the beginning so imagine my surprise when my two kitsound links arrived, set up in 10 minutes and not a glitch to speak ofi’ve had this pair for a month now and i love them. They are very small and light which some would say makes them feel cheap but they are essentially a very small device, light and small is actually what i need. Aesthetically very pleasing, finished in a black piano high gloss with an illuminated large power button. I received two boxes that were roughly 15cm x 7cm, neatly packed inside was the unit, usb cable, plug adapter and manuals. 5mm jacks included but i believe this was thrown in as an extra and may not be standard. The back of the unit reveals a mini usb port (power), aux out (3.

Does exactly what i hoped it would. Does exactly what i hoped it would. Finds my wifi signal, locks onto it first time and stays there, then takes the output from spotify connect and gives the option of an optical output. Optical option taken by adding in a suitable (fiio) dac with rca red/white outputs. . And hey presto, every song i ever wanted to hear streamed into my late-80’s hifi separates at 320kb/s near-cd quality.

I swiftly received my 2 new kitsound link multiroom adaptors. With use of the all play app that easy to use and can connect multiple link units together. Within moments with only a few clicks i was streaming music from my spotify account in the house and in the garage with full control from my phone. While being able to still make calls and use my phone as normal. All through my home wifi network. Makes great multi-room sound system with perfect sound through any devices. With the capability to connect to the links own wifi connection straight from my device makes this a versatile tool for any music lover that wants to update and old system to connect to smart technology. Would highly recommend this kitsound link to anyone looking to make connection to your home system easier or connection from your pc/laptop. Looking forward to exploring what else this little device can achive.
