Harman/Kardon Soundsticks Wireless tooth LED Desktop Sound Speaker System, Fantastic I love it

This was a brilliant purchase. They look fantastic and the sound that comes from these speakers is amazing – like nothing we have purchased before. Only had them recently but have had so many compliments about them. Also they are so easy to use and the connectivity is so quick.

Impeccable sound, one major flaw. . I bought these snazzy speakers a year ago, i know that is a while and the drivers are probably old and tired, but lets hope this review is still applicable. I opened the smartly designed box and lunged inside like a small child at christmas to get these beauties out and plugged into my pc. Once all the wiring was plugged in, i reflected on how simple setting up the system was, and it still is. I genuinely believe an 80 year old could do it. Excited and hyper i fumbled through my computer to find itunes. I blasted my heaviest, thumpiest song and i was blown away. The sound was crystal clear, bass is registered beautifully, but is not to overpowering. Everything about the quality is fantastic. I actually have two grobbles to make.

After reading some of the other reviews, i was expecting great things from these speakers, while they are good, i can’t help but also feel disappointed with them. I’d first seen the soundsticks ii version of these a couple of years ago but couldn’t justify the circa £110+ price tag of them at the time. I managed to pick my set up for £69. 99 in the boxing day sale so was very happy with the price i paid. First impressions on getting them out of the box:- the design is out of this world, unlikely any other set of speakers i’ve ever seen. The subwoofer is solid, heavy, and sits nicely on the floor on its feet. The satellites however, by contrast, have quite a cheap feel to them. Obviously the whole set is made from plastic but the satellites feel particularly cheap and slightly flimsy around the 4 1′ drivers themselves.

“One word: Amazing, Brilliant Superb sound, Enough to give you a H(arman K)ardon”

I appreciated other reviews telling me that they do have wires. Bought them and they’re awesome. Look fantastic, sound fantastic, bass can be regulated and bluetooth works as expected. Only thing is that the bluetooth doesn’t require a passcode or-word, so if the neighbours wanted to play their own music they could.

A lot of money to pay for a fly graveyard. . When i ran an agency, we had this sound system in our studio to play music. The sound was fantastic, and filled a large room even though we ran it under the desks. We had absolutely no problems with it, until we realised the woofer was full of dead flies. During the summer, we would leave the double doors open, so flies would be lured by the music, get trapped in the woofer, then die at the bottom. Anything with bass in it would vibrate all the dead flies, making it look like there was a little party going on. Though amusing at first, it started feeling a little macabre. Every time we emptied the woofer of dead flies, more would take their place. Eventually we just had to get rid of it. The sound was unaffected by the dead flies, but i would rather go without.

Best speakers i have bought. These speakers are amazing, well worth the price. The sound itself is excellent, no faults from my view. The base from the subwoofer is great and adjustable, these speakers have a power saving setting which i don’t like, i am not sure you can turn it off but there is a light in the sub which indicates wether the speakers are activated or not, when watching or listening to something , the light will come on and sound will flow through, if you pause for 5 minutes the light goes off and when you press play the sound will not come through for 5 seconds. Apart from that these are great, they sound and look good on my desk, no complaints.

I spend quite a few days trying to decide which speakers to buy. So i think i did my homework pretty well. Initially i wanted to get a speaker system without a subwoofer due to limited space. Nothing on the market, this side of £200 doesn’t sound even remotely close to a system with a subwoofer. These are quite a bit more than jbl creatures, which i also considered, but harman kardons sound way better. And i personally think its money well spent. Hk soundsticks are not without fault. They look great with that transparent polycarbonate but they are nightmare to maintain clean in a busy household. All wires in the sub are hardwired so if anything goes wrong, nothing you can do but replace the whole unit. Although very thick and well protected they are are everywhere around your computer/laptop and don’t go well with nice and clean lines of the speakers.

After hearing the harman kardon ii’s a few times from my friends, and in the apple store, i was intrigued and wanted to give these a shot. It’s worth noting that this model is an upgrade from the previous harman kardon soundsticks ii. Black base on the hk3 instead of the previous white. Personally i think the black looks much sleeker. The audio cables are detachable rather than attached directly to the subwoofer. It’s also worth noting that the cables are not detachable from the satellite speakers however. Instead of the blue led light that featured in the previous version, this one shows off a white led light. Which one is `better’ is down to personal preference, i like the white one myself. Thoughts:these speakers are really something special. The sound clarity is so accurate and crisp that i have noticed some of my songs in my collection have a `hiss’ sound that i have never heard before, indicating they are poor quality versions. Furthermore, i hear sounds in songs that i’ve not heard before on my late logitech z-2300’s.

I have read some reviews that seem to suggest that because the speakers are advertised as wireless / bluetooth then the system will not have any wires on show. If you are thinking of buying this system based on that premise then stop. Each satellite has a cable to go to the base unit. The base unit has a wire to go to the pc sound card, and of course there is a mains cable. The whole thing takes about 5 mins (if you have to crawl under your desk like me)once done i turned on my pc and played something from internet radio in order to adjust the volume (the base volume can be set from the subwoofer unit. ) once done i played some mp3 and then some flac formats and wow. My final test was to turn on the bluetooth in my nexus 7 and connect. That was the easiest pairing of bluetooth that i have ever experienced. Then i hit the play on the nexus and was almost nocked off my feet. The bluetooth overrides the pc system sound and is set by the device that is paired. My nexus had been set to high and wow did the sound come through?it was like being in a concert hall, without the crowds.

Superb sound quality, great price. . Apart from an issue with shipping, this has been a truly wonderful experience. The speakers are easy to set up, using the basing 3. The mids and highs on these speakers are so crisp it actually took a while to get used to the quality. I’m a musician, and this is the closest i’ve come to really hearing live music with any of my speakers to this date (including some supposedly higher-end systems). The quality, for the price of these speakers, is tremendous. My only complaint is that sometimes the white led in the sub case turns off randomly and won’t turn back on without several on/off cycles of the speakers, but other than that, i have no complaints. I’m sure that once these start to get a little older/blow, i will more than than likely pick up another set.

These speakers sound fantastic, that’e the main thing that has to be. These speakers sound fantastic, that’e the main thing that has to be said (and i’m a bit of an speaker / headphone addict / snob), they also look unique and interesting which i suppose is a very subjective option. The only real downsides i find is that the volume controls are touch based, and they give no feedback or any other indication that the volume is being changed or what the volume is currently set to. And secondly, the speakers power off after a few minutes if they are not used (based on detection of sound), they do wake up again when they detect audio but there is a delay of a few seconds which is very annoying as you missing the beginning of whatever audio you are playing.

Good speakers but seriously flawed. . Not much to add about the actual quality of these speakers that hasn’t already been stated. I found the build quality to be very good, the mids are somewhat lacking as expected but the highs and lows are excellent for a system of this size and price. However, the big negative is the system going into standby mode after only a few minutes of no sound input. This also happens when the sound is turned very low. For me, this is totally unacceptable for speakers used with a computer, as this leads to email alerts, etc, going unheard. It also means missing the first few seconds of the first track when playing music. The email alert situation can only be rectified by choosing a longer email alert sound, so that when the system wakes up the sound will still be playing. The music issue can be addressed by skipping back to the beginning of a track or playing some random sound to wake up the speakers before you begin to play music. In the end though i just couldn’t be bothered.

Let down by lack of treble adjustment. I have just read through 72 pages of reviews and i can’t find anything about the treble setting. The treble setting on these speaker sounds neutral or around 50% so when playing from my iphone or pc i need to use an application with a graphic equalizer so as i can raise the treble to my proffered level which i would guess is around 90%. I listen to most types of music but mostly chart and dance music so i am a bass and treble lover. I have another older harmon kardon set on my desktop computer – the hk395 system. On the front of the sub there is a bass adjustment and a treble adjustment. Having to play music through a graphic equalizer is a pain in the backside why on earth isn’t there a treble adjustment on a £170 set of speakers ?. On the pc there is no graphic equalizer for youtube unless you load a plugin. Incidentally you can pick up a set of hk395’s on ebay for around £30 and the sound quality is just as good as the soundsticks.

1 speaker set that had a mic & headphone jack input that was easily accessable to replace my philips 2. 1 speakers, after seeing these in a lightning deal for £70 i bought them straight away as my mother has these for her g4 cube. After adjusting the bass and positioning the satelites i was more than happy with the sound, it’s more refined and has a clearer sound stage than my philips 2. 1 set (due to the amount of drivers in the satelites no doubt). The problem of the easily accessable mic & headphone jacks was sorted when i installed my asus xonar dsx 7. 0 sound card that has a front panel interface (i know, i’m lazy, but my old creative audigy zx2 was working fine with modded drivers, and i got the asus on special offer and only used it to test a new build). Anyhoo the soundsticks sound as good as they look and can be turned up high without getting distorted.

Misleading description, not as wireless as they make out at all, good sound though. The images i could find showed no wires from the sub to the sticks. Anywhere on any site or other promo pics. The fact these are 100 quid more than the others i made the mistake of assuming they were fully wireless. The only reason i have not returned them is because i am a lazy lazy man. The sound however is great and they look very nice to. If you want true wireless look elsewhere but otherwise well built and sexy to look at.

Found this article on the web:’we’ve had a chance to spend an extensive amount of time with this sound system, and overall, we can confidently say this is an extremely strong offering from harman kardon. That said, the name ‘soundsticks wireless’ may be misleading, as this device comes packed with plenty of wires to connect your audio device to the soundsticks, the soundsticks to the subwoofer, the subwoofer to the power source, and so on. The name ‘wireless’ simply means this device can also be paired with any bluetooth-friendly device, which is convenient for users who stream music through their mobile devices. Otherwise, this system is identical to the soundsticks iii. :)my stars review is based on the previous model.

Enough to give you a harman kardon. This set of ultra-modern, minimalistic, faux-industrial speakers is popular and held in high esteem by many. Such an enviable reputation is well-deserved, and comes to them courtesy of several factors, the main three of which i outline below. The mids and highs are as clear as bells, and the level of bass can be controlled by turning the main power button on the subwoofer. The volume goes plenty loud, adjusted by touch-sensitive buttons on the right satellite speaker. It’s difficult to describe in words just how great the audio quality of these speakers is. Listening to them you feel immersed in their sound – as if it’s coming to you out of thin air. Several times i’ve found myself leaning towards the left or right speaker, just to check that such perfect music is issuing from the speakers and not just playing in my head. That’s right: these speakers are so good they can actually cause you to start doubting your own sanity. You don’t normally get such sonic nirvana for a price like this. Though intended for use with a desktop computer, these speakers can be connected to pretty much anything with audio-out capability. Connect them to a laptop or a media player or a television and – hey presto.

Great choice at a great price. I was thinking whether to get the companion 5 from bose or this. After reading the reviews online, i finally went for this as it is about £200 cheaper. I got it today and i must say it’s greati am amazed by the quality of the sound output and how clear it is. It is also easy to set up and i did it in about 15 minutes including removing the old system and packaging. As it says, just plug everything as it tells you so and it will light upi still need to get the right balance of bass and volumn level but i am really pleased that i have saved £200 and got this.

Look no further, these are the bluetooth speakers for you. Before you look at a negative review. . Don’tthese are the most amazing speakers you will ever buy for your computer or anything else you want to play to bluetooth. Firstly they are an absolute breeze to setup. Once you have connected the power supply and the two speakers to the subwoofer you are ready to pair them. I use the pixel chromebook as the first device to pair. I spun up my google play and played a sample of tracks from classical to disco to hard trance and onb absolutely everything they worked, worked, worked. Without any drop outs, perfectly clear and great bass. Look no further, these are the bluetooth speakers for you.

First of all i do not understand why these are priced at £99 and there are a couple of versions around for £124 or something. I really cannot c the difference after reading the specs for the other models. Anyways, these speakers look the part and most importantly sound the part. Friends will desire them with envy and the only disadvantage really is the lack of remote control to adjust the volume. But really these days when u can remotely connect on your laptop or use the phone to manipulate the sound who cares?when watching movies the sound is amazing. Doors open and slam like in the cinema, cars crash with a bang, planes are passing in front of your eyes and helicopters are genuinely flying in your living room. Concerning songs it really depends on the quality of the song. Mp3 they are ok but if you really want the bass to rock the party you need to go for flac files. They produce the best quality of sound.
