GGMM E3 Smart Speakers System, E3 ES-201-4 WiFi and bluetooth speaker – Looks good, sounds good, easy to use.

A superb speaker for the bedroom. Ggmm are establishing themselves as a manufacturer of high-quality lifestyle products, i have been fortunate enough to review several of their devices and the e3 wireless speaker certainly continues the trend. The speaker is nicely packaged, even before i opened the box i was given the impression that the product inside if going to be of high quality. The speaker is supplied with a travel mains adapter complete with detachable us, uk and european adapters, a 3. 5mm aux speaker cable (for attaching directly to a device that doesn’t have bluetooth) and a user manual. The speaker itself is quite large and feels heavy, to me this is an indication that not only is the build quality good but the speakers inside haven’t been skimped on. I received the white version, however, i expected it to be a bit whiter, it’s actually more of a pearlescent champagne colour, it looks nice but when it’s sat on my gloss white bedside table the difference in colour is apparent. The speakers are located at the front of the unit and are hidden behind the white plastic grill, on the top right-hand corner is the led clock which is illuminated green, the colour cannot be changed but can be turned off if so wished. The clock is difficult to see in daylight and has to be viewed from the correct angle, but at night the led’s are very bright and they illuminate my half of the bedroom, thankfully the clock can be turned off while leaving the alarm active. The speaker has quite a few controls, on the top of the unit the control panel consists of six buttons which includes; mode/power on/off, play/pause, track skip, volume and favourite button.

“The most feature rich Smart Speaker, Quality and style, A superb speaker for the bedroom”

Wi-fi/bluetooth/wired connections; retro look; excellent sound. If you are interested, the video review is available in hd on my youtube channel: thecoolgeekdesignfrom the click of the buttons, to the smoothness and feel of the whole speaker, the build quality of this speaker is exceptional. The dimension of the speaker is 20. 2cm (w x d x h) and it weighs 1. It comes with a 115cm long uk ac power cable (with extra 2 round pin and 2 flat pin socket adaptors), 3. 5mm speaker cable, a very well written instruction manual and a warranty card. Everything is well packaged and presented. Featureswi-fi vs bluetooth connectionif you are new to wi-fi enabled speaker, here’s a quick summary of how they compare:- wi-fi provides much longer range than bluetooth (50m vs 10-15m?)- sound quality can be much better using wi-fi connection.

This ggmm e3 wi-fi and bluetooth speaker arrived for review immaculately boxed and in the box apart from the speaker you get a mains adaptor, audio lead for non bluetooth devices and a setup guide. The immediate impression is of a quality product. My sample is white but other colours are available including grey and blue. This speaker does not have internal battery being designed for mains operation plus it also features a green led alarm clock. The speaker measures around 21 x 12 x 12cm which in practical terms is around the same size as a small loaf of bread. The main body is a pearlescent white with black ends and a stripe across the top incorporating the main panel which features push button controls for favourites (up to 6), play/pause, next, volume up/down (plus alarm and clock up/down) and on/off plus a mode led. Around the back is another panel with less frequently accessed items including wi-fi connection button, clock and alarm setting, a 2. 1a usb charging port, power and aux ports. The whole unit stands on a couple of sturdy rubber pads.

This is the second time i have ordered a speaker from this company and i am really happy with how well packaged the speaker was when it arrived, it comes in a rather large box with cut-outs in foam to keep it from getting damaged in transit, loving the attention to detail. The first was for having in the kitchen and the design and styling not to mention the sound quality is superb, hence wanting a second one for the bedroom. Just before i get started i’ve got to say that the presentation of this speaker is superb, i love the unboxing part of opening a new product and this is one of the best, well done. The speaker itself is extremely well engineered, with its white dot grill front and turquoise clock , its powerful duel driver and 3” bass passive radiator make this mighty sounding for such a small speaker coming in at 8” long by 5” tall and just over 5” deep,on the top of the speaker, there are the commonly used control buttons: on/off/mode switch, volume adjustment, skip songs, play/pause etc. On the back, there is another row of buttons for setups: wi-fi connection, clock, alarm etc. 1a) for charging your smartphones and tablets. Setting up the wi-fi is really simple. As soon as you open the app it starts the set up process.

The most feature rich smart speaker. I have been searching for a product that gives me some music in my office for some time. There are a huge range of speakers, radios, network players, all offering different methods of playback, it’s difficult to find the balance that you need as they all seem to miss a feature you desire, until now. The e3 has: * bluetooth * airplay * audio in * dlna * wifi * app connectivity * standalone internet radio (after being programmed through the app) * phone charging * clock + alarmon top of the feature set, the sound is surprisingly big for a speaker in this price range. There are a few things i’d improve though: * when you turn it on you need to wait 30 seconds for it to connect to the wifi and the voice telling you so is a little annoying. A sleep mode would have been preferable. * the led colours aren’t intuitive, blue should be for bluetooth. * the settings to change the wifi name and password are difficult to find and all over the placefor me, the negatives are more niggles and with the generous feature set i am delighted with my purchase.

Good, but not portable and slightly disappointing bass. This ggmm e3 wi-fi speaker was sent to me for review. I think it is good, but i have a couple of reservations about it. The speaker comes very nicely boxed and is plainly a well made unit with good build quality. With it you get a power supply and a good quality jack lead for wired connection, and the whole thing has a pleasing air of quality about it. The controls are well placed and set out on the top, with less commonly used controls on the back – although the positioning of the alarm control here isn’t ideal. Note that this unit does not have an internal battery – it’s mains power only. This may not be a problem for you, but part of the point of wi-fi speakers is that you can move them to anywhere where your wi-fi gives a signal, so this does seem a weakness to me. Downloading the app and setting up is pretty simple if you’re reasonably technologically savvy, although it might be intimidating for a novice, i think. Once set up, the app gives excellent, simple control and allows you to stream music from various sites and to play your own music stored on your device.

Disappointing software design.  this unit had a price tag of £95. 99 at the time of placing the order. The price has since gone down but i still believe that it is greatly overpriced for what you get. This is worth more like £50. I had used this for over a month now and i am really unimpressed. So what you get in the box?you get the speaker (about 1. 2 kg mass), a manual and a power lead. Design and performancethe design is fine. You have the front speaker and side-subs.

Very nice sound; simple bluetooth connectivity. . And wifi connectivity that is definitely not for the technically faint of heart. The ggmm e3 is a great idea with excellent sound. It is a good speaker overall, but be prepared for two areas of the the user expereince that stand between it and five stars:one is physical:the arrangement of frequently used control/function buttons is best described as ‘inconvenient’the other is an overly complicated user interface (via its downloadable app) for wifi functionality. The things it does well, it does very well. The e3 immediately paired with both bluetooth sources i tested (an android phone and an ipod nano). Audio from the e3 is very good. Crisp and clear across all frequencies. Its relatively large size provides good volume and better than average bass for speakers in this price range. The led clock has a somewhat limited field of viewability because of the integration into the dotted pattern of the the speaker grill.

The white was a sensible choice. After much umming and arrhing i went for the white instead of the blue, and its turned out to be the right choice, as the blue would have been too much of an eye-catcher. As you’d expect from a unit with such small diameter speakers, sound is a little thin but well above average for the pricerange. It’s not room-filling hi-fidelity, but its clear and unfuzzy. Has a nice weight and feel of quality about it, so it won’t blow off your shelf at the first breeze. Makes an ideal bedside-table unit (yes, the white really was the correct choice), but for living rooms and other, larger areas, i’d suggest finding a unit with a little more oomph to the sound. With wifi as well as bluetooth you can ‘attach’ it to a central broadcasting unit such as a pc or streaming master unit, though as these can be fiddlesome to set up, each time it is used, it won’t really serve as an alarm clock for streaming music, as there’s no guarantee the sending device (such as a mobile phone or ipod touch) will find it each time you need waking up. Great for the money, and once again i’d recommend going for the white one if you don’t want your eye snagged and drawn every time you enter the room.
