Denon DSD300 Cocoon Wireless Speaker, Beautiful thing but the software needs work

It was a little tricky to established up and appeared to need rebooting. Once it was downloaded etcetera it was good. Downside – won’t work with iphone 5 but worth investing in an adaptor.

Very good options but a definite lag. To start with matters to start with, the most important component of this evaluate is to alert all uk purchasers that you will require a europe to united kingdom plug adapter as the guide is a two prong, circular plug. For the price tag i was quite disappointed that there was not a british isles adapter included with the docking station. Also, it might be for the reason that i only been given the product today and have not given it the ‘warming up’ time period that is recommended, but there is a lag when applying the contact sensitive buttons or remote and switching to preset stations is also really slow. The system is not ready to use on commence-up but can take a several minutes to load and the station is fairly slow at responding to airplay. However, when listening to songs the seem is clear and crisp with good quality at a fairly large volume. The wi-fi was rapid to set up and it is really wonderful to see each and every music exhibited on the interface, with the dock storage creating it neat when it truly is not in use. The internet radio is also a good addition. In general, i gave it a few stars as it is not as smooth as i expected because of to the lagging and i am marginally let down in specified options thanks to the brand name and the total paid. On the other hand, the seem high quality is surely improved that its philips predecessor and i like the world wide web radio characteristic.

Very first impressions, seriously effectively built and simple to set up with the brief start information. I just docked my iphone and soon after downloading the totally free app it located my dwelling network and prompted me for the password. It then connected to my community and it was prepared to go.It indicates a operating in time period to get the greatest sound out of it – i imagine it seems good currently, so i are not able to wait to hear it just after a little bit extra usethe app is definitely simple to use and i like the fact that i can just stream my audio to it via airplay from my ipad, iphone and my laptop. I have also experienced a bit of a participate in with the internet radio which has also quite a few stations to even imagine aboutdue to the good climate, i have not nonetheless been equipped to examination its ‘water resistance’ but i have had it in the backyard garden with me and it nonetheless streams my new music with no troubles. On leading of all this, i observed out i can declare a free of charge pair of wireless denon headphones as well.

Transportable, h2o resistant, amazing product or service. This is the initial denon solution that i have owned and i was amazed by the total outstanding high-quality of the dock. I’m ordinarily not quite good with electronics but i quickly discovered the cocoon person helpful and uncomplicated to steam new music. If you commit a superior sum of time outside, or you are like me and appreciate gardening then the cocoon is the excellent audible companion owing to its gentle fat portability and resistance to drinking water. It is this flexibility of listening environments which i’ve occur to really like. The long battery life allows me to do my work without any anxieties of the machine turning off and when the day stretches on i can choose it back indoors.

Attractive issue but the computer software desires perform. It took a even though until eventually i experienced managed to link it to my property community and even for a longer time to use the firmware update. How i managed the latter i am not entirely confident but in the stop it did get the job done. Really don’t request me for replication techniques since i could not give any. I just kept and stored and retained urgent the very same buttons and in the finish it worked. There is the alternative to apply the firmware enhance by means of a browser but good luck locating a obtain url for the flasher. At least there are application updates. I experienced a philips soundring that i bought in november 2011 and am continue to awaiting an improved software program for this machine. On the other hand i consider that airplay the way it is now is a wet towel which is apple’s ‘fault’ and no person else’s.

Denon DSD300 Cocoon Wireless Speaker with WiFi & 30-Pin Dock – Black : Does everything i want and sounds fab. Can airplay all my music from i phone, i pad and computers. Can play all internet radio stations from bbc to small inde stations also has with 3 presets and with you tube having airplay can play absolutely any track i fancy. Rechargeable so can listen in the bath. Took a little while to configure it to the g5 but once figured brilliant. Good – although the £500 rrp is far too ambitious. If you’ve got a 30 pin ipod or iphone and are looking for a speaker dock, you could do a lot worse than denon’s kidney bean shaped cocoon. This is the smaller portable version which claims to be waterproof (i haven’t tested this claim) and offers apple airplay and internet radio as well as playing music from your ipod. As another reviewer mentions, this comes with a european 2 pin plug as standard. As the unit needs charged prior to use, and without a uk mains lead, it’s effectively useless straight from the box. Absolutely staggering considering the original £500 rrp. As first impressions go, it’s not a great start. Fortunately (for me), it uses a figure of 8 mains lead which i was able to nick from another appliance in the home. Once charged and connected to my wi-fi (there’s also an ethernet port if you want to use it with a network cable), sound quality from my ipod was good and a marked improvement over some cheaper docks that i’ve heard. It’s relatively portable and was quite easily moved from room to room, even to the garden where it didn’t drop the wifi signal.

Portable, water resistant, fantastic product. This is the first denon product that i’ve owned and i was surprised by the overall excellent quality of the dock. I’m usually not very good with electronics but i soon found the cocoon user friendly and easy to steam music. If you spend a good amount of time outside, or you’re like me and enjoy gardening then the cocoon is the perfect audible companion due to its light weight portability and resistance to water. • First cocoon i ordered didn’t work, the battery wouldn’t charge. Amazon were pretty good about that though and sent a replacement in in 2 days. The unit itself has plenty of features. I mostly got it for airplay which works fine most of the time. Set-up was a bit hit and miss. The 3 preset digital radio stations is a nice bonus feature and the portability is great as long as you stay within wi-fi for airplay. My main gripe with the system is the sound quality. I’ve had a bose sound dock for several years and i’m used to the extra punch that it delivers. The denon just doesn’t compare, it has little bass to speak of.
