Absolutely incredible sound and not just for the size. I ordered 2 as a stereo pair and to say they are impressive is an understatement. Stereo imaging singular is good but 2 together really shows how impressive these speakers really are. Never been wowed by a bluetooth speaker before, but these are incredible. Only way to top them and still be portable would be 2 vifa copenhagen 2. 0’s in stereo, for an extra £900. Would that be worth the £900 extra?. I have trouble believing it would, especially with just 5 hours battery and not water resistant and so portable.
I did think more than twice about buying a portable speaker at this price. Whilst it is heavier than i expected, it will easily fit in hand luggage. But most importantly, the sound is fantastic.

Despite what i had heard about the battery self discharging issue from some youtube comments on certain videos and from a couple of reviewers here on amazon i still went ahead and bought this speaker. I had high expectations that it was going to sound amazing from what i had heard of it on clavinetjunkie’s youtube videos on this speaker and it definitely meets my expectations if not exceeds them. In fact for the first few hours i was listening to it i couldn’t wipe the stupid smirk off my facei also bought a bose soundlink revolve at the same time and although that is a different beast being an omnidirectional speaker the denon envaya blows it away in every other department. Don’t get me wrong in certain situations where you are entertaining guests at a bbq for example the bose speaker sat in the middle of the crowd will give everyone the same sound and would be better suited but for sitting down with the speaker in front, the denon envaya dsb-250bt is simply amazing. I’m sure i’ll be purchasing a second one at some point to have them in stereo. If you’re sat on the fence about purchasing this speaker like i was. Edit:after owning the speaker for a little while i have deducted 2 stars due to the battery self discharging issue which is present on my speaker. I have noticed that after very little use after just 2 weeks the battery has discharged completely.
Could not recommend this speaker enough. No bells and whistles will not answer you back. Just does exactly what you expect and the sound is so smooth. For me this was money well spent.
Reviews from purchasers :
- It really is the best for this kind of money.
- This speakers sound is amazing! Believe the hype!
- Smaller can be better
It may be small but sound quality is excellent, decent bass for its size without sounding false. Build quality is excellent too, solid and with a nice rubberised feel, not cheap and plasticy. Bluetooth pairing is easy and it remembers up to 8 devices. My only slight gripe is the buttons could do with with a bit of feedback, a more positive ‘click’ feel would help.
Loud enough to be heard at party’s. Attached string to add to bag while going to climbs.
Absolutely head and shoulders above anything i’ve heard in this class. You would have to spend twice that much to get any improvement in sound quality.
Kudos to the denon engineers who have managed to pack such a big sound in such a small enclosure. Played at low or high volumes whether classical or rock this deliveres great range, quality and power. Believe me when i say this beats any other bluetooth speaker in this price bracket hands down having owned and tested quite a few. Incredible when you think this is water proof and very robust like the ultimate ears but this is in another league. No app or swings and whistles but a solid great sounding speaker that does allow hands free calling and has a nifty set of hidden led battery level indicators. Battery life is proving very favourable after a few days of use. Usb-c charging would have made this perfect but that’s a very minor gripe. You won’t regret purchasing this if you appreciate quality.
Our jawbone big jambox gave up the ghost after 4 years of flawless service so it was time to purchase the next family bluetooth speaker companion. After lots of research i decided to try the denon bt250 envaya, my early impressions are very good, whilst not as loud as the jambox the clarity is far better. They both have similar battery life, but the denon also benefits from using bluetooth aptx, and an ip67 protection rating. Denon don’t make a carry case for it but i found one suitable for it on amazon and its a good fit. Search code: b019xdtovaoverall im very pleased with this speaker, a great quality product for the price.
I had the denon envaya dsb-250 but replaced it with the dsb-150 because the 250 really was far too bassy and boomy for my relatively small space. This has less bass but is no less dynamic and refined, particularly in the treble and upper mids which tended to get a bit lost with the 250. If you’re not intending to blast out loud thumping music then the dsb-150 is the one to go for. It’s a far more balanced and listenable speaker in my opinion.
Was looking for a high quality bluetooth speaker as spending several weeks overseas in a hotel with work. After hearing a couple of others and others in the range went for this one. It also sounded a lot better than jbl or ultimate ears for similar process. It pairs well with my windows 10 pc and iphone 4. Excellent sound quality good bass but also treble is excellent. I’ve had in bathroom on a shelf when in shower and it works well, have no intention of trying the waterproof claim. It has plenty of volume, but also sounds good at low level with a richness of sound. Only real down side seems to be the charging cable- it is quite fiddly. Otherwise very happy with purchase.
Last weekend i went shopping with intention on spending £200+ on the bose wireless speaker. As soon as i tried it in the shop i knew it was not for me. My denon arrived today and i am so glad that i didn’t spend the extra money. Works with my iphone and apple watch. Its not as good as my b&w 603s downstairs, but hey. Another reason to keep them ;o).
Amazing sound,no distortion and keep a great bass at high volume.
Great sound, easy to use and superb build quality and materials.
Great sound for such a small, battery powered speaker.
, very responsive and considering the size the sound is exalant , only 1 complaint the charging and earphone socket is fiddly that’s limited in the , size , , few options.
Impressive on vocals, singer’s voice performed so naturally almost can’t tell if it is real person or the speaker. The bass, however, compare to bose soundlink mini 2, are not so impressive through, but still ok.
I bought this as a replacement for my envaya mini as the battery is degrading in that one. The envaya mini is one of the best things i ever bought; the sound quality is phenomenal for something so small. I fully expected the dsb-150bt to be as good or better than the mini and i’m sorry to disappoint any envaya fans, but it just isn’t. Let’s talk about the sound quality – the main reason you’re thinking of buying this speaker. The older mini had a very good balance of bass, mid and high tones. The bass wasn’t as heavy as most competitors – it was good but refined. You could listen to different musical genres without it being discordant – jazz, classical as well as rock and pop. With the dsb-150bt, denon seem to have decided to adopt the bass-heavy sound that you get with most other portables. I can understand this; most people seem to prefer extra bass at the expense of the mid range. The downside to this is that you get a more ‘plasticy’ sound to the music; you get heavier bass mixed with the higher frequencies and the sounds don’t quite mesh so well.
Best bluetooth speaker, i am a musician, i have a studio and this speaker is like a best studio monitor.
Just waaaoowif you looking for good sound and plenty of bass just stop reading this and purchase it, worth every penny bt caution to the wise the charging port is awkwardly placed and feels like would not survive long term use and looses a star coz of that bt al in al great little speaker would definitely recommend it bt expected better charging ports at this price points plus from a well known company.
