Just waaaoowif you looking for good sound and plenty of bass just stop reading this and purchase it, worth every penny bt caution to the wise the charging port is awkwardly placed and feels like would not survive long term use and looses a star coz of that bt al in al great little speaker would definitely recommend it bt expected better charging ports at this price points plus from a well known company.
This speaker is just what i wanted, round sound, deep bass, and sound that circulates around the room nicely. It also looks quite elegant. The reason it gets 4 stars is because i received the wrong colour.
Could not recommend this speaker enough. No bells and whistles will not answer you back. Just does exactly what you expect and the sound is so smooth. For me this was money well spent.
Well, i’ve auditioned several bluetooth speakers lately, all of which are generally recognised to be good choices. These include the jbl charge 3 and the ue boom 2. We needed something with good quality audio and splashproof. I thought i’d settled on the jbl, but then i stumbled across this beauty so curiosity got the better of me so i ordered one. Unlike some other options there’s no app etc, this thing is a simple device and all the better for it. Put simply it absolutely tramples over anything else i’ve tried in this price range. Highs middles and lows are all beautifully balanced at both high and low volume, and while it might not be the absolute loudest, what you are getting is a speaker that just does stellar audio and nothing else. It’s much smaller than the jbl, but so so much better. It does have one idiosyncrasy though, to get the best beefiest sound the volume on the speaker needs to be left at full (it does remember the settings so only needs doing the once) then just adjust the volume on your phone/tablet. This has been made a big deal on some reviews but it really isn’t important so dont let it put you off.
- It really is the best for this kind of money.
- This speakers sound is amazing! Believe the hype!
- Smaller can be better

I have had various portable bluetooth speakers including the ue boom 2, bose soundlink mini 1 and 2 as well as the audio pro addon t3 and currently the bookshelf kanto yu4. I will say that in terms of sound the envaya is superior in every way to those portables with the bose sounding downright muffled in comparison. Instrument seperation and clarity is better than expected for such a small enclosure. The low end isn’t just “bass”; it is a clear drumbeat, a pluck of the bass guitar etc. The midrange has quite a forward presence and highs are fairly decent. There is a loud tone when the speaker is turned on or off. Seems no way to turn this off. On bluetooth the speaker will shut down automatically after 15 minutes of no signal.
I had the denon envaya dsb-250 but replaced it with the dsb-150 because the 250 really was far too bassy and boomy for my relatively small space. This has less bass but is no less dynamic and refined, particularly in the treble and upper mids which tended to get a bit lost with the 250. If you’re not intending to blast out loud thumping music then the dsb-150 is the one to go for. It’s a far more balanced and listenable speaker in my opinion.
It took several months for this to finally reach my doorstep in the outback. I did a lot of research, listened to many available audio samples online, and read countless reviews before finally pulling the lever on this particular speaker. Defining factors, (all essential) : sound quality, price, potability (size, weight), build quality. Now that it is in my hands, and i’ve had de opportunuity to listen to it for a few days, sampling every sort of different music genre, i have to say that i am left with mildly mixed feelings (perhaps unfairly). I am still quantifying my experience. As far as construction goes, the speaker is very atractive and really heftily build, (it is dust and water proof), and will likely take some pretty hard knocks before feeling any pain. It is likely to last a long time. The back protective cover will likely be the first thing to go (at least as far as waterproofness goes). The control buttons on the side, as many have pointed out, do not offer much tactile feedback, but i quickly got used to their feel, and they actually do their job quite well. Connecting to bluetooth is a cinch, and seems to happen automatically from the first go.
The sound on this item is very good and speaker works well even if placed in another room.
It may be small but sound quality is excellent, decent bass for its size without sounding false. Build quality is excellent too, solid and with a nice rubberised feel, not cheap and plasticy. Bluetooth pairing is easy and it remembers up to 8 devices. My only slight gripe is the buttons could do with with a bit of feedback, a more positive ‘click’ feel would help.
Exceeded my expectations (and that takes some doing) say no more.
I’ve been enjoying the denon envaya 250bt for a few weeks and i’m impressed with just about everything. Highlights below:- bt pairing is quick and easy, although i’ve only used it with two devices so far (an iphone 6 and a moto e3). Connection has been stable at all times and the range seems to easily cover my small flat. – the sound quality is excellent; projection and clarity are both great. It undoubtedly sounds better than the cheap micro hifi i have for comparison. Bass is well-pronounced for something the size of a subway sandwich (although it’s mainly mid-bass, as one would expect) and i love how well vocals tend to come through the mix. I saw a review that mentions static noise but fortunately it’s not an issue i’m experiencing with my unit at all. For reference, i usually stream spotify from an iphone 6. The device also spends most of its time in the corner of my kitchen, which is very reverberant and no doubt helps with audio presence. – the envaya seems to have solid build quality and good finishing.
I bought this mainly to take on holiday, but with a view to using it outdoors at home. The sound quality is excellent and it goes pretty loud even outdoors. I have since bought a second one to use as a stereo pair. The only slight minus is the short charging cable.
Lovely sound, no regrets buying this, bass does sound different depending on what surface you place it on. Volume is dependent on signal going in to it but i find it quite loud enough to fill a room. Wish i could afford another one, i’d love to hear it in stereo.
I bought this product for my daughter. She streams music from her phone to portable speakers. The previous one she had broke (an inferior, cheaper make) , so after a lot of research i chose the denon. It’s small, but reassuringly solid. The sound is most certainly superior and there’s plenty of noise and a satisfying bass. Connecting to a phone/laptop/ipad etc via bluetooth is a doddle and whilst you are never going to get large speaker quality from something so small, you will probably be surprised at how good it is. It also holds a charge for a long time. And, though she has not (yet) managed to soak it, there’s no worry about using it in the bathroom due to it being waterproof. (i have only given 3 stars for waterproofing because i am not prepared to try out just how waterproof it is) i bought a case with it which protects it if she wants to take it to her friends.
Despite what i had heard about the battery self discharging issue from some youtube comments on certain videos and from a couple of reviewers here on amazon i still went ahead and bought this speaker. I had high expectations that it was going to sound amazing from what i had heard of it on clavinetjunkie’s youtube videos on this speaker and it definitely meets my expectations if not exceeds them. In fact for the first few hours i was listening to it i couldn’t wipe the stupid smirk off my facei also bought a bose soundlink revolve at the same time and although that is a different beast being an omnidirectional speaker the denon envaya blows it away in every other department. Don’t get me wrong in certain situations where you are entertaining guests at a bbq for example the bose speaker sat in the middle of the crowd will give everyone the same sound and would be better suited but for sitting down with the speaker in front, the denon envaya dsb-250bt is simply amazing. I’m sure i’ll be purchasing a second one at some point to have them in stereo. If you’re sat on the fence about purchasing this speaker like i was. Edit:after owning the speaker for a little while i have deducted 2 stars due to the battery self discharging issue which is present on my speaker. I have noticed that after very little use after just 2 weeks the battery has discharged completely.
Absolutely incredible sound and not just for the size. I ordered 2 as a stereo pair and to say they are impressive is an understatement. Stereo imaging singular is good but 2 together really shows how impressive these speakers really are. Never been wowed by a bluetooth speaker before, but these are incredible. Only way to top them and still be portable would be 2 vifa copenhagen 2. 0’s in stereo, for an extra £900. Would that be worth the £900 extra?. I have trouble believing it would, especially with just 5 hours battery and not water resistant and so portable.
After tons of research for reviews of this speaker, i decided to pull a trigger without a try because this speaker is not available in my country. Totally worth itthis is the best sounding bluetooth speaker for this size and price. It outclass my beoplay p6, jbl xtreme, bose revolve+ and very similar to vifa helsinki which doubled the price. It’s hifi quality that fits your travel bag. The only downside i found is that the volume adjustment is not step-less. The speaker adjusts its volume in steps level when adjust via mobile or laptop. It has no problem while adjust directly on the speaker. However, there are some reviews said that volume on speaker should be at max for optimized sound quality then you adjust volume independently on mobile/laptop. This is where i think they should synchronize both volume adjustment on speaker and mobile together like other speakers and step-lesstotally would recommend this speaker to everyone who prefer top-notch sound quality. This for sure will be my travel-buddy during overseas.
I love this little speaker i had bose sound link mini but this one is way better and it does blow rest of the competition, one small minus is the charging port needs to look further.
Impressive on vocals, singer’s voice performed so naturally almost can’t tell if it is real person or the speaker. The bass, however, compare to bose soundlink mini 2, are not so impressive through, but still ok.
Our jawbone big jambox gave up the ghost after 4 years of flawless service so it was time to purchase the next family bluetooth speaker companion. After lots of research i decided to try the denon bt250 envaya, my early impressions are very good, whilst not as loud as the jambox the clarity is far better. They both have similar battery life, but the denon also benefits from using bluetooth aptx, and an ip67 protection rating. Denon don’t make a carry case for it but i found one suitable for it on amazon and its a good fit. Search code: b019xdtovaoverall im very pleased with this speaker, a great quality product for the price.
This is by far the most impressive portable speaker i’ve owned, even beating the much bigger kicker ikick51 which i thought was the best i could find. For the size the sound is incredible, given that you turn the speaker volume on max and adjust the volume on your player. The sound is not dull or blunt in any way, but distinct in the highs and miss, and the bass is striking even on lower volume. I’ve no reasons to look for anything to replace this one, and it also fits nicely in my bag full of music for singing lessons.
For such a small speaker it can fill a large room with sound and the sound quality is surprisingly good with deep bass. I would highly recommend this speaker. Not tested it’s water resistant ability but not that interested.
