Creative Sound Blaster Roar 2 Speaker – : Just love the technology

This is a superb quality product, well made and produces a great sound.

Good sound, whatever clavinetjunkie says. Didn’t notice any distortion. Recording and sd card handling is just great. Very clear, also at high volumes. I carry it with me all the time. This is a piece of real electronics.

Pretty good battery and sound for the size. Big improvement on capsule speakers i was using before.

Just needs an phone app to control the mp3 player to make it perfect.

Really impressed with this speaker. Small and powerful, lovely balanced sound.

Creative Sound Blaster Roar 2 Speaker – Black : This unit is solidly built and has so many functions that it is a true convergence device. Is primarily a speaker but also can used as a power pack and a stand alone mp3 player via micro usb cards (supports up to 32gb) the sound is impressive and easily fills a room, allied to the roar functions and it takes some beating.

It beats bose hands down both in terms of pricing and sound output. It is indeed a creative sound blaster roar. The design is creatively impressive, the sound is as clear as clean water, the blast is as deep as the ocean and the roar is as enveloping as thunder.

Love this bluetooth speaker. . The sound quality is amazing and the base is brilliant. . Nothing much else to add that hasn’t already been said.

Love creative products been using them for years and have not been disappointed yet. Good sound quality from a robust and well made speaker.

Great sound, easy to set up. Smaller than expected i was thinking more sonos size. But still blasts out the tunes.

Awesome bluetooth speaker had the first soundblaster roar unfortunately battery gave out and only works on power now so can’t use it portable anymore this roar 2 is just as good if not better clearer too.

Bought as a second in addition to having the original roar. Sounds and looks great, nice and loud and is smaller that the roar 1. My only slight concern is durability, mainly on the sides. In the first version they’re speakers behind a metal grill, but on this version they seem to move and be part of the speaker?.I’m worried they might break if they’re struck.

In almost all respects the roar2 is a fantastic device, but the dropouts from wireless communication ruin an otherwise great experience.

Best purchase i’ve made in years. Crystal clear sound especially at lower volumes. Does go very loud but very often not required at such high volumes. Sound quality is that good that it appears quite loud but you can still have a normal conversation in the same room with out having to raise you voice, the highs, mids and lows are that clear. I love the terra bass mode which i’ve found works best on low volume. When the kids go to bed i turn the volume down to it’ lowest, turn terra bass on and the bass is clear and prominent but not loud enough to wake the kids. I’ve ended up using this speaker every day and take it every where with me. Every one else is incrediably impressed by it as well.

Sounds perfect with added features.

Very very loud for a mobile unit. Throws the competition in this price range clear out the window. If i were to find a niggle it would be the weight. Its a tad on the heavy side as a portable.

Enjoy this speaker very much. The sound quality is amazing for such a small device. A bit more on the pricier side but definitely worth it.

After lots of research i could not find a negative review about this speaker compared to the more well known and much higher priced alternate speakers. Very happy with sound quality it fills the room without any distortion.

It sounds great, i don’t know how anyone could be unhappy there. I bought this for travelling, and i wouldn’t be without it. This speaker is pretty versatile, and will work great in various situations. With so many speakers, at all price ranges, i’m very happy with my choice. And everyone who’s seen and heard it has been impressed.

Iam delighted with this speaker the performance of the sound & bass is amazing for its size, price. Although it doesn’t look as cool compared to the other portable speakers on the market but for me the performance more then makes up for it. My only complaint is sometimes the bluetooth connectivity from my phone to the speaker isn’t always as smooth therefore loses a few seconds of the song i’m listening to. Don’t know whether it’s my phones issue or the speaker?so iam happy to give the sound blaster roar 2 a 4 star out of 5.

Incredible sound from a such a small speaker, really strong bass, and a widespread sound that fills the room. Sound performance is incredibly similar to the bose mini 2 and the whole unit feels really solid and well built, at £99 its an absolute bargain. 8 hour battery life for complete portability is also good, buy it.

  1. This is a solidly built speaker though its a bit on the heavy side. Performance is outstanding for its size it can put out a lot of volume especially when i connect it to my sound blaster e5 headphone amp. Out of the box it has a flat sound signature with a slight emphasis on mid bass with clear highs but when pressing the tera bass button wow it can hit low and deep. Seeing the passive radiators pulse to the bass notes is a good touch and looks very impressive especially with bass heavy tracks. After hitting the roar button the sound increases even more whilst still retaining the hard hitting bass. With the e5 connected it is a true bass monster. I’ve had no problems using the sound blaster apps for windows 10 the drivers and utilities install with no issues both on a 7 year old dell vostro 3550 and my chuwi hi10 running windows 10 1809. The roar 2 has a very similar sound signature to the omni surround 5. 1 when connected to a pc via usb if i use the same bass heavy eq as my e5 with the preamp set to +12db on bass heavy tracks it will reduce volume slightly to avoid clipping and distortion which is the exact same behaviour as the omni i assume as the pc is doing all the audio processing so i prefer to use the roar 2 with the e5 in line. I have a number of bluetooth speakers and this is always my go to speaker for home use.

Very impressive, with excellent clear sound at loud volumes, very full bass for its size, tight treble etc. Really good connectivity, bluetooth works flawlessly, sounds great via usb (pc) etc. Have taken a star off because the design is a little unusual in that the sides of the unit are moving speaker parts, and this limits where you can place it when out and about. For example, i’d like to use it in the car, but anywhere i place it securely the side speakers vibrate against whatever its resting on, distorting the sound. On a flat surface with clear space to the side this design is an advantage, but beware it’s not as portable as most bluetooth speakers for this reason. Doesn’t really detract overall for us as it’s mainly used in the kitchen and for that is excellent. Drum & bass and other bass-heavy music are brilliant via this.

Having listened to my daughter’s creative sound blaster roar mark one, l studied all the reviews and the opposition out there. Although you can find many simpler, cheaper versions, l liked the compact and built in accessories of this creative model. Just now realizing that by plugging an bluetooth transmitter into my old portable cd player, l can now play all my old cd’s through this portable speaker via bluetooth, brilliant.

      • This was a lovey x-mas gift. We wanted a speaker that could connect via usb and was portable. The sound is crisp and sharp and mid to high volumes and with additional bass options you can get a real deep base sound for the money. The build quality is first class, it has stacks of options vert unlikely you will use some of them. Some things to bear in mind my 5 stars is for the quality of sound against value for money. We had issues downloading the app so you can play with the set up of the speaker, we still can not download it, we are on our second speaker due to the first one developing a crackle via usb and not wireless, the second one also was having the same issue, but it seems it is our old mac that is causing the issue, so we had to settle to use it wireless. You have to have it on charge to get the best performance out of the speaker as it plays louder. Also how ever you set up the speaker is pointless as when you switch it off and switch it back on again it resets to factory settings, that is something you have to live with, com eon creative sort that out. But again quality unit for the price.

    • I have this in my consulting room at work so that i can listen to amazon prime music and drink coffee while my patients wait outside. It goes so loud that i can barely hear the squealing and general grumbling top marks and for the size excellent sound reproduction.

After a lot of research on youtube etc. I bought this and i’m pretty pleased with it. My laptop sound chip seems to be broken so i’m using the roar2 connected to my computer via the soundblaster usb sound card headphone output and the aux in of the roar2 (ie use as an anologue portable speaker when bluetooth isn’t available). I haven’t tested the usb yet. The main reason i wanted a bluetooth speaker was that the speakers on the samsung galaxy tablet s2 are not very good. I’ve played some youtube videos on my tablet of some folk music i like and it sounds great through the roar 2. To me its just the right balance of treble and bassi looked at similar bluetooth speakers by jbl and bose. The jbls looked like they were brilliantly rugged ie waterproof etc and they had a good sound but to me a little harsh (probably my personal preference – listen on reviews on youtube to get some idea). I preferred the sound of the bose compared to the jbl as it seemed to have more refinement but it was more expensive. I’ve bought speakers, headphones and sound cards from creative before and have been pleased with them and they sounded ok to me.
