Libratone Zipp Wireless Speaker – Five Stars

Would have rated 5 star but with an existing n300 router performance was not great and need to uprate my router to a dual band ac1900.

👍👍👍👍👍 superb 👍👍👍👍👍.

Opted for this after much research, seemed to be the best option for a cord free speaker with airplay. This speaker is of high quality and is solidly built. The sound is great including the bass with no distortion even at high volumes. The setup of the speaker and airplay via the app was fiddly initially, it sometimes forgets the speaker meaning having to go through setup a few times but is happening less now. Overall happy with this purchase.

Really impressed with the sound and construction of this product. Connected to my iphone, ipad and amazon echo dot with no problems.

Good sound quality and excellent simple functionality. I stream spotify connect, push bluetooth/airplay sound and use the 5 presets to store internet radio stations and spotify playlists. I use it in the kitchen and bathroom mainly, no issues with condensation,no other wireless battery powered speaker has more features and better functionality that the zipp. I would have preferred a standard usb 3. I would also have preferred more sensitive volume control at lower listening levels. The speaker volume can be turned up very loud, but i don’t think many people would buy this for a lounge or house party filling capacity.

The quality is very good but above all the sound is excellent. The customer services is also very good as i needed there help. If you buy it, you will not regret.

  • Good Speaker, Poor App

Like everything about this device however the bass can be bloomy depending on location relative to walls and also solidity of what it is placed on. Works better when sitting on isolation cones.

Very pleased with the speaker itself, it creates a good sound with plenty of volume and decent bass. The portability of the speaker is a particularly nice feature, you can simply unplug it and move it to wherever you want to listen. The app that is required to setup / manage the speaker / settings is very poor. I had all sorts of problems getting the app on my android phone to connect and stay connected to the speaker. I eventually got it working by reference to the online help and libratone support, turns out the app is very fussy about the wifi settings. Be prepared to have to adjust settings on your router to get it to work. Once connected the app is ok and having done the setup you don’t generally need to use it much.

This has totally changed how i listen to music at home. The sound quality is great and the portability is a huge bonus. Whereas we used to just play cds or stream spotify via our crappy little phone speakers, we now have a house filled with music.

I have a few wireless speakers, including a sonos play 3, but the libratone zipp really does pack a big punch for the price. The support for this speaker by libratone can’t be faulted, as over the time i have owned it quite a few firmware updates have been made available, each enhancing the unit. The biggest was in march 2017 which reduced the startup time from over 30 seconds to under 10 seconds. It also added a standby sleep function to reduce power consumption. The already long list of supported functions will be increased towards the end of 2017 or the beginning of 2018 with the addition of amazon alexa and apple airplay 2. This will really place the zipp at the top of the pile when it comes to wireless speakers. I know sonos will be adding alexa support to existing speakers but only via the alexa app or an echo dot. If they update the existing lineup to include airplay 2 then it would be a tight race, providing you did not want battery portabilityfor android and windows fans the sonos may offer a better route, as long as you accept the limitations but for apple and mac users the libratone zipp is hard to beat due to the simplicity of airplay and the fact you can stream anything. One plus point of the zipp over sonos is the fact you can preset up to 5 internet radio stations or spotify playlists that can be selected from the speaker without any need to use an app. This can be a great feature for a kitchen speaker when you don’t have a phone or tablet to hand.

Very nice piece of kit, good sound, easy to set up for both bluetooth and wifi. The recommended app is a bit fiddly but seems to resolve all issues. It is no way near as good as my naim muso, but it also no way near as expensive. I would recommend this product.

It has a great sound, we have it attached to a tv. It can be very loud and doesn’t seem to distort the sound when turned up. Looks good and my hubby is happy with it. 4 stars only because i personally find it hard to use and sometimes my hubby can’t get it to work and it needs to be turned off and started again.

Great sounds indeed and it feels so much better in the hand than some of the other products available on the market. Have since bought another to pair with this in the lounge. The sound is amazing and so easy to pair as left and right speakers or to unpair and use anywhere.

Clear sound in the round listening to radio or itunes music. Henry purcell sounds fabulous on this, baritones, tenor and soprano quite clear and full.

I was lucky to get this at a bargain price (only a tiny bit more than the mini) but i would not have been disappointed if i had had to pay more.

I bought this item for my daughter’s party but tried to cancel it but amazon sent it anyway so i decided to trial it. The sound from that little thing is impressive. Even my wife who was negative about me buying a speaker was surprised and now wants to buy her brother one for christmas.

As good as i had thought of. Amazing sound and brilliant ease of use.

Fully portable with built in re-chargeable batteries giving 10+ hours of battery life –

I have bought cheaper bluetooth speakers in the past and have always been disappointed. Not so with the libratone mini, the sound quality is good without being tinny. I used the equaliser in my smart phone to adjust tone and this worked well. Thinking about buying more units to link up when the pennies allow.

Nice design, sound could have been better.

Great sound and audio quality.

Fabulous sound, great wifi reception throughout our home, simple to set up on all phones (android or iphone). We now have access to all the music stored on our computer from every room in the house.

She loves it & it’s in constant use.

Connect via Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Airplay and Spotify

Excellent product, not disappointed at all and will look to bye more to add to the range.

Great sound, very contemporary modern looking. Get 2 different coloured covers. Easy to change and perfect tight fit. I would strongly recommend the larger unit zipp over the mini zip (i have both) as it is more of a statement, and actually not that much larger. Splash out on the leather handle for that added touch of difference. (promise i’m not a rep for them).

Impressive sound from such a small device. The 360 firing speakers help fill a fair sized living room quite easily. No distortion at high volumes. Balanced sound which is what i prefer so maybe not best option for bass heads. Easy to connect via bluetooth and wi-fi.

These speakers are so good i have now bought two of them and get beautiful stereo sound when linked.

Excellent speaker, i have also now ordered zipp mini. Just take time to set it up. If you have any questions suggest don’t use the app support but you go to libratone. Com support site, i received a quick response.

Easy to set up, app works well, and works seamlessly with spotify connect. Bluetooth works great as well. Sounds really nice, i don’t imagine you’d get a much better sound for something of this price and size. When i was looking for a speaker i didn’t really care about it being portable or not, but i’m really glad i went for this as i’m always moving it round the house, and the battery life is ample. I saw some reviews before i bought it about the app not being great and the on-device controls being fiddly and unresponsive, but i have had no problems with this at all, so i think these problems have been ironed out, and clearly libratone have great customer support as i can see their replies to the bad comments on amazon.

I bought this speaker as a replacement to our normal fm kitchen radio. It is obviously more expensive than a radio, but was recommended this speaker by a work colleague. This product was a good buy and mostly simple to use. It is best setup from an android device to get it working on your home wifi and once setup can stream internet radio opening up a wealth of stations. It can also bluetooth music and has a nice intuitive touch controller. But the biggest plus point is its sound – wow. Nice and clear with perfect bass. For a single speaker, it provides a well rounded sound, filling the space nicely in all rooms including the kitchen, bathroom, lounge and garden open spaces.

Link your Zipp or Zipp Mini’s together to create a distinct, flexible multi-room listening experience

I have put off purchasing a battery powered speaker for several years. Every summer i research what’s available and think on. I had almost decided on the b&o ‘battery box’, even thought it only had bluetooth and aux in. Thankfully, i looked again and stumbled across the libratone zipp. All i can say is if i hadn’t i don’t think i would be sitting in the garden listening to a perfectly good airplay rendition of a hires album served up by roon. In other words – a fancy music server converting a 24bit 96khz album and serving it to the zipp via airplay after having processed it down to 16bit and 44. That still annoys me – i wish libratone would deal with higher rates, but even over dlna (via qobuz) i found that it all gets down sampled to 16bit 44. Don’t know if airplay 2 will bring any change to this. But even with this i find that room plays very nicely with the libratone. Enough to say that i have found that the best tonal quality is without an of the dsp effects within libratone ie opting for the flat response. This is always a sign that the audio equipment is good quality. Forget bluetooth – it’s a pain in the rear and best left for hands free calling in the car.

Superbe enceinte acheté à un super prix . Uk très bon son et facilité d’utilisation. Le airplay est vraiment un plus.

I’ve had this speaker for about a month now and i am completely happy with it. The sound sound quality is great – it is noticeably better if the app is used to specify where the speaker is (for e. Shelf) and also to change the voice to suit the listening mode (for e. The ability to play my favorite stations without my phone is really nice. I also love the mute function which works exactly like the video. The battery life is as advertised. I did a lot of research on speakers before buying these and i am not disappointed with any aspect of this speaker. I am planning to get a second one and pair and use them as a sound bar for my tv.

Wifi is the way to go – no more connectivity issues if you dare to move too far from the source. This thing is superb, puts out a high quality sound at high volume with decent bass. Far better than the ue offerings and amazing value for money given the quality and watts. You can link up to 7 together and i am planning an expansion. It is quite heavy for it’s size so not something you’d leave the house with regularly so be sure to read the dimensions / weight before deciding if this is for you. For plonking down around the house / garden/ car / friends house it is fab. Absolutely delighted with this kit. I am quite hard to please (polite version) and yet here i am taking the time for once to post a review.

This is without doubt one of the best speakers i have heard for clarity and portability, there are louder speakers out there but how loud do you need it, this fills a large party room easily and is crystal clear.

Q ACOUSTICS Q Acoustics 3010 Compact Bookshelf Speakers – Jolly useful for convenient, serious, wrapping jobs.

Happy with it thanks 👍🏻.

I was looking to upgrade my hi fi speakers and decided to buy these, it’s now like i’ve got a complete new system. These speakers are absolutely brilliant and well worth the money, highly recommended.

Insanely cheap for it’s premium build quality & sounding. A perfect choice for small spaces. An ideal pick for those who into jazz or electronica. Still gives a great punch for rock or metal genre. Best describes as a compact speakers that’s doesn’t screams but crisps.

Well detailed sound but needs a subwoofer in my opinion.

Excellent response good bass and treble. Matched with mission rears and centre and all go together to create a good ambience in my particular living room. Very well suited to my sony amp. If you are looking for a nice set of fairly small bookshelf speakers or even (as is my case) front speakers for a 5. 1 set up and you don’t have unlimited funds, these are well worth considering.

Jolly useful for convenient, serious, wrapping jobs.

  • Great sounding & looking speakers.
  • Unreal sound quality, for the money.
  • Five stars are not enough for these little speakers – Absolutely superb and worth the money

Bought the q acoustics 3010’s to upgrade my sony cd/dab music centre. The speakers are absolutely fantastic improved the sound 100%. Would recommend for sound, build and quality.

Very nice design and finish. The packing is very nice also. Sound wise very happy with this. Magnetic cloth screen makes it easy to remove.

I have just replaced my pair of jbl control 1’s with these speakers and what a difference is all i can say. They definitely bring out a new dimension to my old and trusted pioneer amplifier which i’ve owned for 24 years now. I also recommend the q acoustic shelves for the 3010’s too. Worth every penny if you want to bring your amplifier to life with small, punchy bookshelf speakers that really do sound great.

1 surround system and for music in stereo mode. Paired with a pioneer 100w amp. Very good, i used to work in a hi fi store for five years so got to hear lots of speakers. These stack up well, you then take in to account the price and they are an absolute gem.

These speakers are exceptional value for money, i have been using a friends pair of very expensive floor standing speakers for the last few years but buying my own setup for the first time he suggested these as a starting point. For the admittedly smallish room that they are in the sound is incredibly good. As the smallest bookshelf speakers in the range they are incredibly powerful, i am powering them through a sony sdr-dn1050 for music and home theatre, for several months i was using only two speakers as they were so impressive without any centre speakers or rears at all. Eventually i couldn’t resist buying a second pair to make a surround sound setup, a centre too, but there is no need for a sub the bass from these really small speakers is already plenty for me. They benefit a lot from being mounted properly on good stands or wall mounts, other things to mention are the nice minimalist design, good quality case, it’s walnut veneer of course but it looks good. Connectors are on the back which is better than the 2010s underside and the grills are held on nicely with magnets.

Great build quality fantastic sound delivered in 2 days even when we had snow .

The balance between high, middle & bass is spot on. They are well made & finished to a high standard. I use mine connected to a brennan b2 & are ideal for it. They are larger than i expected. If these are classed as compact & i would like to see what they would call large. I can highly reccomend them. You well not get a better set of speakers unless you pay much more. The sizes very from web site to web site, so the actual size is 150mm wide, 235mm high & 200mm deep.

I love my music, but i’m no tedious audiophile. I bought these to replace some original speakers from a 20 year old mini system. Whilst there was nothing wrong with the old ones, where i had them they were too bulky and i wanted something to fit the decor better. These speakers are nicely compact, but noticeably more competent than the ones they replaced. I’m hearing new subtleties and nuances in music i’ve known for years. For the size and price i really don’t think you can do much better.

Bought to replace my q acoustics 2020i, which were wonderful, but too heavy for my cantilevered bookshelves, which were starting to sag. These sound every bit as good, if not better, and are significantly smaller, so i’m well pleasedhighly recommended.

Lovely small compact size speakers, i chose the graphite colour qa3010 (but other finishes i”m sure would look nice too). Great sound on my vintage technics hi-fi.

Great speakers that give much more expensive ones a run for the money. Small compact size but a sound that simply shouldn’t come from speakers that cost less than £100. Just buy them, use as main stereo speakers or as surrounds in a multi channel set up.

Ultra compact, audiophile-filtering; 100mm subwoofer.

Made my souround sound so much better.

Fantastic sound, great build quality for the money toodelighted with this purchase to replace my old hifi speakers.

. So much so that i’m hearing musical nuances for the first time. The only downside is what i would describe as a boxy or hollow midrange. I’m hopeful some messing with the amp settings will sort this. Very happy with build quality.

A lot of base despite their size. Look stylish and feature a magnetic front cover.

Excellent speakers with solid base and wide range but with a size that doesn’t impose on even a small room.

Great value, fairly compact bookshelf type speaker with excellent sound clarity. If this is what you’re looking for, then i would say look no further than the q acoustics 3010 (or 3020 which is a bit bigger). The speakers are well built and deliver a nicely balanced and detailed sound, with plenty of bass for a small/medium sized room. Importantly for me, they also sound great at fairly low levels for everyday listening, but turn them up for your favourite tracks and you’ll be amazed at the brilliant sound quality relative to their compact size and price. I went for the matte finish as we didn’t want to see finger prints etc. I cannot recommend these speakers enough, delighted with purchase. Ps re other comments on fitting the rubber feet, they are slightly fiddly, but just need to be screwed in as per the instructions, mine went in without any problems once i got them started.

Small size.

Unreal sound out of these, i purchased the lepy 2024a+ amp to go with these and it’s a perfect setup. Magnetic speaker grills are a nice touch making it easy to remove when needed. They’re a nice size for a medium to large desktop. Would recommend to anyone looking for amazing sound quality for the price.

Superb sound, nice compact design.

What a great pair of quality speakers. I used to have a pair of tannoy floor standing speakers and a pair of missions that were a similar size to these and the difference is astounding. These q acoustics really open up the sounds with amazing clarity compared to the other two, almost as if you’ve taken your balaclava off. For the size, even the bass is impressive, very tight, but with a wee bit of oomph. It’s the top end and the mid range that is a real revelation. I have them on a shelves at the moment, but have invested in a good pair of 60cm high stands that will bring the tweeters up to ear height, whilst i am sat down, so the sound should be even better. For the money, i can’t rate them highly enough. They remind me when i got my first set of good hifi speakers, tannoy 605s, in the early 90s, which improved my then cd and record collections to new heights. I had a kenwood 3020i amp then, which i wish i had never sold. I’ll be looking to get a new amp soon, to replace my yamaha receiver.

Having been used to much larger and more expensive speakers, these are a disappointment: they just don’t have the concert-hall weight, space, depth, or transparency i was looking for, though they are adequate on less demanding material (i. I have played rock, jazz, easy listening, and various genres of classical through them, and that is my honest conclusion. Good clarity, and may suit a small room better; mine is 75m³.

Wow replaced my old teac speakers which i thought were good but my partner did not like the size. These small speakers are amazing pick up all the different instruments from the music. Now connected them to my tv great for movies.

. Vvery good sound, clear and with immersive bass. Great sound for both music and movies. Aesthetically they are stylish and do not look bad in a living room.

The new 3010 is suitable for both Hifi and home cinema.

I have ever come across, they are in a class of their own. I have several of the range and all absolutely amaze in their performance.

Excellent small speakers with superb clarity, openness, detail and rhythm. As these speakers are only just launched and no professional reviews available, i took somewhat of a gamble and i am so pleased i did. This was based on q acoustics were saying they were better sounding than the very highly acclaimed award winning 2010 model. Beautifully finished and a great speaker at the price.

Good value and were a superior upgrade to my rear surround speakers, sound very very good, mix well with mission speakers on a 7. We’re small enough to replace bookshelf speakers.

I bought these as a short term fix as i have no space for my tannoy dc’s. Paired with audiolab q dac and m-pwr these positively shine. Fantastic detail and strong clear bass. May we leave the tannoy’s boxed up.

Excellent speakers at an affordable price.

Awesome, loud and crispy clear. The amp will reveal loud and clear bass hidden behind crystal clear medium and ever so slightly slightly too high highs.

Works perfectly with the 3090C central port.

These q acoustics 3010 really are the business. Paired with my yamaha mini hi fi the sound is loud and clear.

As good a sound quality as can be had by speakers of this genre.

I was actually advised to avoid these speakers from richer sounds in cheltenham but i’m so glad i bought them. Paired with my denon rcd-m38, they sound awesome producing a clear, crisp and balanced tone. I’m truly blown away with the bass from these small ‘bookshelf’ speakers.

Superb sound and build quality.

Great sound in a small package.

I coupled these 2 speakers with the q acoustics centre speaker q3090c and a good subwoofer. It totally changed the way i listen to music and watch movies.

Absolutely brilliant – the sound is perfect for the space in the study and i suspect they could fill a much larger room.

Klipsch R-15M Bookshelf Speaker – Great sound and looks

100% positive feedback, 162£ for pair of klipsch speakers, arrived within a few days (to ireland).

Lovely sounding and prompt delivery service thanks peace and love dennis.

Very happy with the product and delivery service. Here are the specifications for the Klipsch R-15M Bookshelf Speaker:

  • Make sure this fits
    by entering your model number.
  • Get power and versatility in a small package, the Klipsch R-15M bookshelf speakers pack a mean punch.
  • These speakers perform beautifully as a left, center, right, or surround.
  • Dual 5.25″ copper-spun high-output IMG woofers
  • Brushed black polymer veneer cabinet
  • Klipsch Reference Bookshelf speakers feature a rear-firing port that is perfectly match to the cabinet and drivers.

These klipsch r-15m’s are replacing my q acoustic 2020i’s as new fronts within my home cinema/music systemwon’t go into measurements but they are almost standard size bookshelf speakers and have some weight but are not heavy. There is nothing standard about how they look though, with their copper woofers these look great and definitely will fit into practically any house (look at youtube vids to see klipsch speakers in many front rooms). They come with speaker grills which are not magnetic and are packaged separately in their own boxes inside the main box but i think you would be hard pressed to keep the grills on as visually that is probably one of the reasons you would buy these,i did. I will be keeping mine off as they look more high end and you will certainly notice that they are not boring old speakers. Trust me as my wife loves them too. It has binding posts on the back and you can also use banana plugs. You also get 2 sets of 4pck rubber feet, like mini chocolate buttons for you to put under the speaker and some booklets about klipsch speakers and placement. I read all the reviews, watched lots of youtube before and during purchasing and i have to say that these are as good as people have said. These have a natural clear tone throughout.

I’m using these speakers as side and rear speakers in my surround system. Lovely sound and they complement the rest of my klipsch speakers.

Reviews from purchasers :

  • Beautiful pair of speakers
  • Excelent bookshelf speakers. Hearing is believing
  • Five Stars

Using them as dolby speakers and sound really cool together with the rest of the stytem.

Edifier R1280DB Active Remote Control Bookshelf Studio Bluetooth Speakers : Excellent for the price.

Fantastic product terrific array of connections including optical really great soundusing also as an alternative to tv sound bar /base highly recommended.

I just didn’t realise how handy the bluetooth function would be. Touch one button on the remote, press play on my phone and it’s on. I was worried about sound quality but it’s actually decent. At this price point, the competition is basically between these and the steljes. From what i’ve read the steljes just have it on sound quality, but i think they look ugly so i went for these.

I bought these to use for my audio technica at-lp60 turntable and they work great, really easy to setup and they sound fantastic for the price. I would recommend these speakers to anyone getting in to playing records or someone who wants a good, cheap pair of speakers.

You will be hard pressed to find a better amplified speaker at this price, and build quality; i am a retired electronics engineer having worked with audio and radio frequency equipment in commercial and broadcast companies, so i think i recognise a good product in todays world for the domestic market. The sound quality is very good with a range to cover most of the hi-fi audio band, you have the option to adjust tonal levels as well, and get two inputs. One aux line in & one pc computer line in; each have different level signals input, and the only thing to consider is how your going to use it . Basically the aux line in, is for a line level output signal around 550mv = millivolts peak to peak just over half a volt, this means you need a pre-amp if your going to use it for a record-phono reproduction, and with the pre-amp you also need the required riaa equalisation for records; normally in the designed for record pre-amps will have the riaa as standard design. Okay then, other options is a mixer control, either two or more inputs as required; then the output to the amplifier aux input. By using an amplified mixer with line inputs, your going to have a good 45db signal increase, especially if a microphone input is on the mixer as well; of course you can just use the amplifier to plug-in your i-pad or mobile music device ?. So using the earphone output socket, you will have more than enough signal to drive the amplifier; this would be the same if you use the pc computer output, into the pc socket. So if you think about it, you have options to make that connection if you remember the amplifier needs a line input signal; also bear in mind, the pc and aux inputs are live at the same time, so you either turn off one of the two devices your using at any time, otherwise you will have two music or audio signals mixing at the same time; there is also the basic remote control, this has a very good range even when you don’t point it at the master speaker. However for the quality of this speaker system and price, it’s a very good compromise. If your thinking of using it for a shortwave radio system monitor speaker, to improve the sound quality; i would warn you not too, the unfortunate fact is that this amplifier has an internal “switched – mode – power – supply” my personal worst enemy when it comes to radio interference. Even if you think moving it away from the receiver will resolve this issue, it will-not . The reason is, that the switching pulses are riding on the screened audio input cables, even a ferrite core or choke will-not stop the interference… so your warned. However you can try an isolator 1 to 1 transformer, i did-not take this option; so if like myself your an electronics engineer or good hobbyist, with experience of electronics; you just remove the offending power supply and build a linear – transformer power supply ?.You need to have a 17 volt regulated dc at 1 amp current capacity; each audio channel at peak max volume can top 500ma, so a 1 amp supply will cover the power required.

  • Overall, I’m very pleased with my purchase and think that these speakers provide a lot of bang for one’s buck.
  • Excellent Budget Amplified Speakers, High Quality For The Price
  • Great speaker system with a not that useful remote

Superb stage presence and clarity. Midrange is something i’m always looking for in compact speakers, and these deliver. Small speakers with a huge sound. Remote control could be a tad larger/heavier though, i can see it getting lost soon.

Absolutely superb set of speakers. Well presented, aesthetically pleasing speakers with an excellent sound quality. Despite not having a subwoofer, i’ve never noticed an issue with lack of bass which is amazing. Note: if you buy this for the uk, you will most likely have to get an eu to uk power adapter as one is not supplied.

These are perfect value for money. They can play loud enough on their own, and i find the sound quality very good, considering the price tag.

I own a lenco record player and it only has a dual rca output audio cable to connect to speakers and nothing else, so i’ve been looking for speakers with a dual rca line in port which are also fairly cheaper. I typed in “speakers dual rca line in” as i honestly wasn’t completely sure what i was looking for, these edifier speakers were the first option that appeared and at £89. 99, which compared to the price of speakers in my city’s electrical stores, was quite cheap. After looking at the mainly positive reviews i decided to get them. For what i was looking for, these speakers are great, i find the sound quality excellent and the design is also quite sleek and simple and not too complicated, the size of the speakers are fairly compact also. The remote control is fairly simple and sturdy with just a mute button and the volume control. The set up was extremely easy, i presumed that the speakers came connected already, so i panicked a little when i seen that they weren’t and i had to connect them myself with the speaker connecting cable, as i’m not the most handy person and thought this was going to be complicated but it was extremely simple and very well explained in the manual. I’m not overly sure about the durability as i’ve only had them for a couple of days, but they seem extremely solid and sturdy enough so far. Overall, if you’re looking for a decent, quite simple and minimalistic set of speakers, i’d highly recommend these.

Only arrived today but first impressions are very favourable; bought to replace a pair of tibo plus 2 that had died shortly after their warranty. I use them in the kitchen where they sit on top of wall cupboards, not an ideal spot for music quality but the main reason i needed a remote. The sound isn’t hi-fi but better than the echo dot, a dab radio’s single speaker and a squeezebox that has no speaker at all. The latter uses a digital connection, the dab has a bluetooth adapter connected to a blink that connects to the speakers through phono and the dot uses direct bluetooth. I had to restart the dot after deleting the tibo pairing as the connection to the edifiers kept failing. All are now working just as i want. The tibos were not great with this set up. If they were on but connected on something other than bluetooth the dot thought it was connected so alexa chatted and flashed away but we heard nothing. Also the auto-wake was too slow for the dot.

I hummed and hawed between these and microlab’s b77 speakers because whilst the microlabs probably shade the edifiers on quality of sound, the edifiers are a bit smaller and around £20 cheaper. In the end, their size won out because i have limited space. It’s also nice that they allow for two inputs, which is exactly what i wanted – one from a tv and the other from my pc. You can play both sources simultaneously if you wish, not that i have any need for that. They replace a pair of bog standard rather plasticky speakers i’ve had for a long time, and they’re much better sounding. I myself don’t like very heavy bass and so have set it at minimum. Even so, it’s tight and punchy, more than adequate for my rather small room. I have the treble set at near maximum because that happens to suit me — maybe because i’m no spring chicken. But the good thing is that even at maximum, the treble doesn’t become at all tinny. I also like that they sound good on their side, with the tweeters on the outside left and right, as this creates more clearance above them on the shelf where i have to put them.

Bought these a few days ago and wow am i very impressed so far, firstly anyone saying they dont sound great is much mistaken, for the size of them the output of these are great as long as the quality or bitrates are high enough otherwise low quality music will sound naff as with any other amp/speaker setup. So the amount of inputs were the draw for me (5 i think) including bluetooth and optical link which was what i was looking for. For example my phone is an s7 using the vlc app on the rock eq setting and wow what a beautiful deep rich sound i got, probably better than my techniks stereo and that sounds nice. Also the tv sounds great and adds nice bass to my viewing sitting either side of my tv. I would recommend these to anyone and big up to the edifier guys for the best product i have purchased in ages.

What a beautiful beautiful sound. I bought to replace a pair of great speakers that i was very happy with but had trouble connecting to my brand new smart tv. Reluctantly i gave up on my great speakers and bought these just so it could hook up to my tv. It’s done the job but also has a simply wonderful sound. Looks a lot smaller than expected but they are a touch bigger than the ones i’m replacing and anyway. They are very loud with great quality. Loud enough to get you in trouble with your neighbors.

A bit of fiddling the eq on pc and they sound even better. The only thing i downvote a star to is the awful remote. It seems this whole line of speakers has the same type of remote which is made from horrible plastic and buttons that feel like they dont do anything when you press them. They have a weird bubble effect feeling when you press on the plastic and it just feels horrible. Not to mention that you have to press really hard on the buttons to get the speakers to actually turn up and down in volume. Adding actual buttons like on tv remotes would be a better choice. Too many times ive sat here pressing the down or up volume only for the speakers not to do anything.

I haven’t really turned these up yet, i’m a good neighbour. But i’ve used them for tv/movies and music on my pc and they are fantastic, lovely sound. As they had 2 inputs, i’ve also hooked them up to a record player i was given recently, my ancient vinyl sounds lovely too.

0 speakers for my pc, nothing too fancy that needs usb audio interfaces, but something that could be plugged directly into the 3. I previously had the creative t40 ii, which were great speakers, but as they were quite narrow, they didn’t have the punch. These edifier speakers though offer what was lacking from the creatives, with decent levels of bass, good quality for all the frequencies and quite a nice aesthetic. Really pleased with them overall.

I have these speakers 3 months and until recently they have been amazing – no problems with connectivity (bluetooth or wired) and no problems switching between bluetooth and the 2 lines. The sound quality is great for such a compact set of speakers but recently the right speaker has been temperamental. Sometimes it stops working then starts again randomly. I changed the wire and it was ok again but now the right speaker is not working at all. I will be using my warranty/contacting edifier to resolve this issue. I still recommend them, if they function properly.

These are great sounding speakers and easy to set up – due to the different inputs available – which cover all bases. I use them to play my tv and pvr output through. It would be even better if there was a visual on/off and volume indicator on the front. Never mind – the beautiful sound (none of that annoying booming bass) more than makes up for this.

I got these for my home office, as the built in speakers for my display are terrible. Light, but don’t feel cheap. Don’t take up a huge amount of space – and have really remarkably clear sound – even at high levels. My one gripe is that they are connected to each other with speaker wire rather than an rca cable, which would make them a bit more portable should i want to. But in reality they will probably end up staying in the same place. I am tempted to get another pair for the kitchen.

I dabble with computer music and i can tell you that these speakers have revealed sound previously unheard. The build quality is also superb.

Lovley clean sound although they could have been louder for the money. I have just noticed there is a slightly better more expensive version, if your budget allows i would give the more powerful set a go. Otherwise this blasts a standard 2.

I’ve had these speakers for around a month and a half now, and i am seriously impressed with the sound quality. Coming from a cheap £20 set of speakers you really appreciate the depth and detail that is in music when you come to speakers that are much higher quality. They don’t compare to £1,000 speakers that i have heard, but they’re definitely high quality and very clear. These are plenty loud enough for a pc setup or casual living room listening. The bass response is spot on, even with the trims set to neutral, and there is a good balance of high and mid-range. Despite being infrared, the remote control doesn’t need to be directly pointed at the speakers which is great for using it at a desk where you can leave it next to your keyboard. Overall i am more than happy with this purchase, and would happily recommend them.

Very happy with these speakers. I can connect multiple devices to it, and easily switch with the remote. Sound quality is pretty good. Searched for video tutorials on youtube to make sure it was what i was looking for and helped me decide. The only con is the remote, it’s tiny and i keep on losing it in the living room.

Wharfdale Wharfedale Diamond 9 : small but powerfull

Great mid sized speakers for not a lot of money, fantastic improvement on the sony ones that came with my music system. Good sound right across the range and still perform well at higher volumes.

Marvellous speakers, great value.

They took very little time to run in, sounding pretty good almost straight out of the box. Had my brother, who’s a sound engineer working for a speaker hire company, pretty mad, as he had just spent £80 on a pair of second hand supposedly good speakers (mordaunt short) who were not half as good and crisp as these.

Excellent sound from a fairly small pair of speakers. I’m using these in a room about 15 ft square on a denon av reciever without a sub. The sound is excellent and has been commented on by everyone who has heard it. They are a bargain price and look stylish as well. I can’t fault them in any way.

Wharfedale Diamond 9.1 Speakers (Pair) (Walnut)

I enjoy electronica, dance, rock and old blues music. My wife plays pop and is a classical music connoisseur. We have differing systems all over the house and i have my own studio. These are the best speakers we have (for all genres) and they are so good i have just ordered a second pair. Can’t fault them or the supplier. Oh, and they look really good.

Sound great but need locating properly and need reasonable volume to get the best from these. During the day with a dac amp on the tv these are brilliant but not ideal at night – just a bit too basey which tends to annoy the neighbours and wakes the wife up. Update: 8 months later i bought a second set for the hifi and they are superb.

Works very well with pyle karaoke amp very pleased with them.

Managed to get a couple pairs of these legends from the last ever shipment . Better than any diamond theyve made since 2003 when this model first hit shelves. The mid/bass driver was also used by “quad” in a pair of speakers costing many times more. That tells you of the quality on offer here. Biwired with decent amplification, the tonal balance, accuracy and imagery is staggering for the money.

A great buy, well worth a little extra.

From ordering to delivery was two days, i was sent an email on day of delivery giving me an hour delivery slot, a couple of minutes in to the time slot and the speakers were delivered. On opening the box i found what looked like a pair of black speakers but on unpacking turned out to be dark brown [pearl walnut] nothing like the colour in the picture but more of a match for the out going technics speakers. So i am happy with the colour. At first i was a bit disappointed with the speakers as compared to the technics they sounded “woolly”, after an hour or so they became much clearer and they bring some instruments from background to more up front which my b&w speakers do on a denon hifi that i have. Since delivery the speakers have had 24 to 30 hours playing time and now sound very good. My speakers are bi wired as i have a technics 6ohm bi amp 30 watt+30 watt. Which is the main reason for buying the 9. 1s as i needed 6ohm bi wired speakers as at this price are few and far betweeni found using a record track that i know inside out helps sound testing but not the same track on cd as the instrument playback can be different. Good tone and clear voices, i recommend , for the price far better than i expected.

Wondered how these could be 160+ rating on amazon and still have 5 stars – proof is now i can actually hear what i was missing from my 7. 2 surround system after replacing the front and rear corners with 4 of theseok, so made in china (who can tell apart from the label, the build quality is very high). Even the packing is extra special, foam padding top and bottom to look after these beauties during transit. A shame to ditch the boxes really. Comes standard with bi-wire terminals and links for single connection. These are weighty items so my little stands cannot hold them. Next, get some beefy stands. Only down side to these is that the massive connection block sits well proud at the rear, limiting standing mounting somewhat, depending on the mounting direction. I guess if you use them on bookshelves or other stands you won’t notice.

I still have my wharfedale denton speakers that are 40 years old and still going strong. So these speakers have a tough act to follow. So far very impressed although disappointed they are not manufactured in uk.

Having looked around for a decent, but non-expensive pair of speakers, and having done way too much research, i can honestly say that i am so happy with these. The sound is incredible with full range and clarity and certainly no need for a sub speaker. I’m amazed that sound can come out of such a size.

These are soooo good for the price, very good bass for the size too, using with a project turntable and a t-amp and they sound superb.

Excellent sound and fantastic value for money. Once set up, they sounded brilliant. Great purchase and highly recommended.

Excellent quality, look good but that’s relatively unimportant, what matters is that, in their class, they sound magnificent, just as a decent pair of wharfdales should.

Brilliant sound, fully exceeded my expectations, whartedale have a habit of producing goods that you expect to be mediocrity and really exceed.

I bought a pair based on the reviews and i’m not disappointed. For their size they punch well above their weight and for the price they are a bargain. I hooked them up to my harman kardon hk610 (bi-wired) and the sound is really balanced and clear in a big sitting room. Nothing is exaggerated, the bass sounds natural and vocals are clear and high notes are easy to listen to.

I have these wired up to a marantz pm5005, cd5005 and a pro-ject essentials 2 turntable. I was astonished at the price and blown away by the sound. I have the speakers mounted on floor stands. I was so impressed that i immediately purchased the sw150 to compliment them. I’m very lucky that i live in a detached bungalow and just as lucky are my neighbours. Even at a low volume it’s a bit bonkers. A pal came up for our usual intake and review of beer (tennents namely) and i put on the mountain will fall by dj shadow. Anyone who knows that tune will know there is a mental sub frequency near the intro.

Love the sound from these – and the build quality is superb.

Brilliant product and good for the price without question star purchase for 2016 excellent sound quality.

Have them on my surround sound as rear speakers. Very punchy bass very good mids and highs would recommend.

iclever Bluetooth Speaker : Excellent product at a great price.

Took me a some time and research to decide to buy. Cost was a factor, but also reasonable quality. I honestly did not expect to much for the price, but was pleasantly surprised. It is easy to operate and control and it looks smart. I have paired easily with ipad and my samsung phone. The pairing is easy and quick. Once connected, i can wirelessly take my speaker all over the house with no deterioration in quality it’s exactly what i wanted. Some people said to go for a higher quality, and higher priced product. Glad i did not, as i have found that this speaker meets all of my needs, and the quality of the music is great for me.

This is an excellent speaker with an amount of bass expected for its size. There is decent clarity of high to middle frequencies. One advisement i would make is that the volume control be a thumbwheel instead of the separate up/down buttons though i understand the often more long-term reliability of digital control, which it uses. It connects to my btt005 bluetooth stereo transmitter very easily. To inc/decrement the sound press appropriate button for 1 sec until can hear a mid-range beep, a low beep indicates lowest volume and a high beep indicates highest volume. The loudest volume easily fills a room and way too loud if nearby. Classical music plays quite decently. I use it most in the kitchen to hear tv news which is extremely clear and if put in one corner of a room can hear it clearly at the opposite corner. I have not tried the device in any other way.

Compact and classy looking speaker. Works perfectly with my iphone on bluetooth and via the cable included for a non-bluetooth sound source. I read a review of budget speakers before purchasing and i agree entirely with the reviewer – this is an excellent investment at a fantastic price (£15). Good base sound considering the size – also pretty good mid and top of sound range. It is very loud – easily fills my sitting room with sound and i can hear it well if i leave the door open and go in to another room. I live in a modern home – bluetooth had no difficulty in reaching the speaker when i took my phone upstairs with me and left the speaker downstairs. Would i buy it again – absolutely, this will be on my shopping list for presents for people.

I have had this speaker for over a year now and it has never let me down there is no static, not sounds other than the music or video or whatever your playing is the only thing that comes out of it too. Admittedly i have dropped it a fair share of times and as far as i can find there is no scratches and it is definitely still working. The best part is that you can charge it with a android wire so it is pretty flexible with what wire you can use.

Such a great little speaker – so small you can bring in your suitcase or around the house. Great sound quality for the price.

Bluetooth Speaker, iClever Mini Portable Travel Speaker, Rechargeable with Enhanced Bass, Super-Sized 5W Driver, Built-in Microphone for iPhone, iPad, Samsung, Echo, Nexus, HTC, Laptops and More-[Zinc Alloy Shell] : Like build quality, really looks more expensive. Bought this little speaker about 4 weeks ago. Linked it up to my samsung phone via bluetooth. Ok but not what i was expecting. Played all my favourite 70s rock tracks and was initially dissapointed. Couple of days ago whilst surfing you tube found a couple of reviews of this product. . This little gem has its own independent volume controls. And what a difference that revelation has made.

I bought one of these speakers last christmas for my husband as a stocking filler present. Never in our wildest imagination did we think it would be as good as it is. So easy to link to our phones or tablets, we use it all over the house. A friend of ours who us a bit of a gadget junkie thought it was a expensive speaker, he could not believe it when i told him how much it had cost. It is so good i have bought another as a gift for my son.

Great little device that has a metal quality feel to its build and sound quality punches above its weight. Batter is rechargeable and last as reasonable 5-10 hours of medium to light use before you should top it up with the supplied lead. Customer service is responsive for registering warranty and generally happy with the buy. Big plus for use with work stations is the sound distribution, my monitor does not have sound so this 5w speaker has sound distribution that is truly cinematic if you place it behind you monitor even on a laptop. It punches well above its weight for sound quality to price. You can plug into the headphone jack, and use it directly instead of blue tooth on your workstation freeing up the bluetooth for your iphone, ipad, etc. Limitation: only thing i found that looses it that 5th star is that it only connects one bluetooth device at a time. If you want to shift your blue tooth connection from your iphone to your ipad for example, you have to do it manually. It does not compute the nearest device by signal strength and connect with it. Thats the only drawback and for its price, im tempted to give it 5 stars across the board.

I spent some time researching various portable bluetooth speakers, before i decided on iclever. I have not been disappointed – this is a great little speaker. Small and compact, ideal for travelling. For such a small size it kicks out excellent, good quality sound. Overall an excellent purchase at a great price.

Yamaha NX50 Powered Speakers – Small size, large sound

These speakers are brilliant, the price and lack of extra wiring due to it not having a subwoofer is great, i was pleasantly surprised when i heard the quality of the audio, i would highly recommend to anyone who wants a small but decent sound system that doesn’t take up much space, for whatever system they use at home or even at the office.

Very pleased with these little speakers so far. Lovely warm sound and quite powerful, excellent base for the size.

Bought this when it was about £50, which is how i’ll review it – for the higher price, i wouldn’t be so sure. But at the price i purchased it – what a fantastic bit of kit. Of course, it’s made in china, but the build quality seems solid. I do appreciate the dual inputs, the small size, and large sound. I actually had a visitor look down the back of the sofa for the subwoofer, because he thought i was taking the piss when i said there was none. Highly recommended if you can get them at a good pricethe power adapter is wall-wart europlug with a uk adapter included.

  • Amazing Value For Money
  • Very, very pleased!
  • These speakers are truly exceptional for their size. Sparking

Love these speakers sound superb and look great, great service as well.

These are fantactic pc speakers.

We bought a set of these speakers around 5 years ago to use with a new sony television in the bedroom. They were white (to match the telly) and were over £100. The improvement in the sound quality, however, was worth every penny. We now have a static caravan and the television we have there was connected to a small hi-if system to improve the sound quality. Which it does, i have to say, but there is a volume limit on the system which makes it difficult for my somewhat deaf husband to hear some of the programmes (not the adverts, mind you. After all these years the commercial stations still insist on blasting our ears with the adverts while the programme is virtually inaudible) also, i was fed up with missing bits of programmes while relating the details of the previous 5 minutes to hubby. So i suggested that we invest in some proper speakers. I did my usual search on amazon and found the exact same yamaha speakers we have in the bedroom.

These speakers are truly exceptional for their size. These speakers are truly exceptional for their size. Sparking treble, level midrange and astonishing bass. They wipe the floor with all competitors.

Best you can get for this size and money. Ive always used yamaha speakers and these do not dissappoint. They are amazingly clear and detailed, so good in fact i use them to make music with ableton live, ive had people ask me if i have a separate subwoofer connected. For a 3′ driver this is incredible, they are built to last and are rock solid. Way better than my old bose pc speakers that lasted only 12 monthsjust buy them you will love them like i do.

Love these speakers sound superb and look great, great service as well.

Best speakers i’ve owned, tops that of the b&w zepplin i have. Even though this set does not have a subwoofer, it still keeps up with the bass output. These are probably the best speakers i’ve owned, these even make the bower & wilkens zepplin i have in the living room sound bad. I was concerned at first regarding the auto-standby feature that they have; my previous speakers had this and it made an awful pop when turning back on – these speakers are ready to go from the first bit of sound that hits them. Couldn’t recommend them though. My partner has also order the orange set for her pc to replace the 2. 1 logitech set she currently has. I use these speakers for:>listening to music – anything from eminem, lindemann, to the bloody beetroots, it all sounds amazing. >gaming – mad max, vermintide, left 4 dead, guild wars 2, undertale. >movies(so pretty much everything).

Sonos like quality at a fraction of the price. . Not the prettiest of boxes, a three for aesthetics at best. For desktop footprint, sound quality and volume, ease of use, etc. My ideal solution to sound for my pc would have been to plug into the play-1 in my study, only sonos doesn’t think i deserve an auxiliary input for my £170. For the £60 (yes the silver facia was half the price of say black) i paid i would say these two are comparable to the sonos in terms of build and sound quality.

Typical high quality yamaha product. Was looking to replace my damaged dell subwoofer and speakers to work with my imac and noticed the description of these as being computer speakers from the search. Unlike the review below, yamaha’s reputation being tested, i was always confident in this brand as always producing high quality sound products. These were the perfect size for me and available in silver and black to match the imac. The set-up, straight forward and once turned on the rich sound is immediately evident. Not out and out bass rich, but crisp and sharp round sound with ample bass. If your looking for computer speakers at a reasonable price for the high standard of quality in terms of build and sound, you need not look any further.

Wharfedale Diamond 10, Excellent surround sound speakers.

Great speakers for a little room. At £100, these stylish bookshelves speakers are a steal. They offer a fantastic level of sound detail while punching quite a lot power despite their small size. Absolutely ideal for an office or a small room.

Super quick delivery and great-sounding speakers with my cambridge azur 640a amp and sonos.

Wonderful performance, enhanced by being placed on stands.

Comments from buyers

“Fantastic sound and looks, As good as the old dentons & lintons, Excellent for their size and price”

Pro’s+ cheap+ sound great, especially mids and highs – they sound better than any active speakers for this price+ look really nice especially with the dust covers off. Dust covers are easy to on/offcons- they are passive speakers: this means you need a amp (between 25 – 75w) and speaker cable, the wiring is extremely easy. I use a pyle home pcau33 2x75w amp and they sound great. Active speakers require no amp as they are built into the speakers. Really expensive active speakers sound better than passive speakers (like these) as the inbuilt amp(s) are made specifically for each speaker driver for the best sound, for around this price (£90 at time of review) however, you will only find active speakers which are ‘powered’ these sound worse than passive speakers as they only have one cheap amp for every speaker driver inside each speaker. Look for ‘true active’ speakers for that better sound (can cost a ton though). – lack bass, but i knew this when i bought them and use them with a sub. I would say don’t buy these speakers if you listen to bass heavy music (dubstep, drub and bass, house etc. ) unless you have a sub woofer like i do.

Excellent, solid heavyweight speakers, great reproduction across the full range. Excellent at the original proce, better still with the discount for ‘old’ kit.

Small, cheap, and very capable. I got these speakers to actually use in my computer desk, as i’ve found (cheap and more expensive) computer speakers to be lacking for any serious listening. My expectations: 1) real hi-fi sound. 2) small speakers, to sit on a desk without any problems. 4) good quality 5) cheapi must say they fill the requirements without problems. 1 – the sound is clean and crisp, can be driven from a small t-amp (15w) or a bigger one (using a nad316 they fill an avg. 2 – at 15x15cm, these are among the most compact you can get. 3 – great bass for a 10cm/4′ woofer – it’s not earth-shattering, subwoofer-like deep bass, but it’s quite nice and clear. Finding such small speakers (really) capable of 55hz isn’t an easy task. 4 – from packing to looks to finish they mean business – very good overall quality. 5 – for the size, there aren’t that many capable speakers in this price range. Other thoughts: these are probably originally meant to be used as satellite speakers, for which they may also be great. 8)without any subjective listening experience or taste, the only rate i can give them is 5*.

Excellent for their size and price. My amp drives two pairs of speakers, so i could compare these against a more expensive and much larger, but older, pair of floor-standing yamahas (ns-45e). By choosing the right music, and concentrating, i can find a difference, but it’s very small. These are ideal for extending my hi-fi to cover my computer desk, where i play classical and mor music at moderate to low volumes. I have them on full-size atacama stands, because they replace a pair of jpw ap3s (rubber around bass driver dozed). They look a bit overwhelmed there, but i no longer need to worry about knocking them over by accident. Delivered promptly in a very manageable package, too, so it was easy to take home and didn’t cause comment when it arrived at work.

Great performance as rear speakers in my surround sound set up.

Super quick delivery and great-sounding speakers with my cambridge azur 640a amp and sonos.

As good as the old dentons & lintons. I bought these speakers after looking for something as good as the the old dentons and lintons i owned many years ago. In the meantime i had listened through missions, bose & surround sound systems but wanted to return to a sound that was more true to how alot of music was meant to be heard when it was originaly created when mixed. After looking at old speakers on ebay with the prospect of replacing thr drivers and tarting them up etc i decided to give these a go when i spotted a ex dem pair for £ 89. Well how suprised was i to hear them give me exactly what i wanted : compact size with a big bass warm sound. I havnt had time yet to wire them up with top quality cables yet but they sound great with just cheap copper cable. Im using an old technics amp to drive them which i think helps but i think they will sound good with any medium priced amp. Speaker placement is always important and these have a hole in the back which pumps out a force ten gale so dont put them against a wall or they wont work as intended. Great small speakers buy em now.

I wanted to buy some beefier speakers to replace the front left and right speakers in my 5. 1 system and so i took a punt on buying these, assuming they would be better than what i originally had. I am so pleased i did as they they are a great pair of speakers and have greatly improved my 5. I have an 11 year old elac cinema 1 5. 1 speaker system, and although this system still sounded pretty good when watching films, music was always lacking in bass. This is because the elacs are too small to have any punch. These wharfedales, on the other hand, are much larger and have a much bigger bass woofer (10 cm) than the elacs (3 cm). Music now sounds really rich and full of bass. I use a yamaha rx-v373 receiver to drive them which is a budget receiver so i can only imagine how good the wharfedales would sound using a more expensive receiver. I am also using these in a small lounge so can’t comment on how good they would sound in a much larger room. I have kept the elac centre, two rears and sub while i save up to be able to replace these with the wharfedale equivalents. It is just a shame that the diamond 10. 0 speakers seems to have been discontinued 🙁 but the elacs work in harmony with the wharfedales and the system sounds great.

Excellent surround sound speakers. . Really please with these great sounding speakers. In fact they are probably too good to be simply used as surround sound back speakers, but they certainly do this extremely well and cope with louder volumes very well too.

0 speakers last month and they have been broken in gently. They are tight and powered by a yamaha 550bl reciever. The speakers are great and especially great for a smaller room, be it a bedroom or any living room. These speakers are lite at 3 kg each but pack a real punch. They have an impressive range for their size. Make sure you know the neighbours on a first name basis. They are smaller than missions ‘mx-1’ and at half their weigh but are very impressive and well constructed. I have no problem recommending these bookshelf speakers for anyone designing a mini system.
