Bose SoundTouch 30 Series III Wireless Music System – Very addictive sound

Amazing speakers, well built, excellent sound. I received bose soundtouch 30 series iii wireless speakers last week with amazon’s next daydelivery. As usual no issues in delivery and packaging. The outer box was amazon cardboard boxwith paper cushioning inside and a very sturdy inner bose original box. Inside the box, there is a speaker unit, usb to microusb cable, power lead and manuals invarious languages. Set-up: it is quite easy to get speaker out of the box, connect the power lead (you do notneed to connect the usb cable unless you want to get the system connected to a pc and set itup) and start. An amber flashing wi-fi symbol appeared on the screen. I downloaded bose appfrom itunes (free) and after installation, i connected my iphone to the home wifi network.

Good but not £500 worth of speaker for me. Bought this speaker expecting something pretty special for £500. Good points;1) nice simple stylish design, i went for the white which i thought was a classier look. 2) connection is decent when avoid bluetooth option. 3) app imo is very good with deezer, enabling full control and ability to turn it on and off from phone (the entire speaker system) however found the app hard work with spotify as have to keep leaving main app interface. 4) radio options and interface excellent. 5) digital artist/song display a nice touch. 6) very simple to set up, with an excellent connection once it’s established. Bad points1) lacks depth/detail and clarity when listening to music a little more complex. 2) radio sound quality is poor, this may be a streaming issue however.

Much bigger than i expected. Here are the specifications for the Bose SoundTouch 30 Series III Wireless Music System:

  • Enter your model number
above to make sure this fits.
  • Listen to music in different rooms easily and wirelessly
  • Takes just minutes to configure and establish a Wi-Fi connection
  • App for controlling your music on your phone
  • Add Bose SoundTouch systems to enjoy the same music across different rooms or different music in each room

The sound from this thing is amazing, i already own 2 series iii 20’s and 1 series iii 10 which sound very good, but compared to this there nothing. The base and overall sound is so natural sounding. I have also connected this to smartthings and my logitech harmony hub, so have even more options to control it and automate it. When i was looking to buy other speaker for my dining room, i was looking at another series iii 20, as the price of this was really putting me off, however i took the plunge and bought this for my lounge and moved the series ii into the dining room, i did get this was £50 off which did ease the pain, however i would say hand on heart, for the extra £150 the series iii cost compare to the series ii, its money well spent.

This bose speaker is the best sound i have ever heard. The speaker or system offer a fair few ways for you to connect too and access music. It connects to your wifi network or can be bluetooth paired with phones or non wireless devices via a mini jack auxiliary input. You can also if you like hardwire connect into your network via a cable. The instructions are fairly straight forward, displayed on large sheets of paper bigger than a3 size. Installing the bose app to your smartphone/tablet or computer couldn’t be easier. The step by step instructions guide that the app runs through show how to connect to your wireless network.

Reviews from purchasers :

  • Very addictive sound
  • Amazing speakers, well built, Excellent sound. App needs work
  • this is a very good speaker system

If like me you have music via amazon prime then simply. If like me you have music via amazon prime then simply link an echo dot (and ignore the low star reviews simply complaining that prime is only supported in us). I now have a voice activated bose soundtouch 30 with full amazon prime access.

This was very tricky to set up on wifi. The connection to soundtouch kept dropping off. Eventually we connected via ethernet due to the proximity to the router. As soon as everything was connected the firmware was immediately updated which is a nice feature. The mobile app is easy to navigate and there are a wide variety of ways to stream content- internet radio, pc music library and bluetooth. Excellent sound quality with high clarity. The sound fills the room with ease.

This is a very good speaker system. Overall, this is a very good speaker system, but i am not as impressed as i hoped i’d be. Good points:- sound quality is excellent and in my opinion beats sonos’ hands down- very solidly built speaker- easy to set up and use- love the way spotify is integrated and can be used without having to stream from other devicenot so good points:- you can only adjust the level of bass, not treble, in settings – which personally i find a shame as i do like to adjust according to style of music i am listening to- very flimsy remote- tried everything to make the speaker show up in airplay, just to find out that this is no longer supported, which is not ideal for ios users like me (but bluetooth works fine but i prefer airplay)- the design of the white bits on top is a bit old fashioned- white model comes with black power leadoverall, i would still highly recommend giving this a go, even if you are like me a long standing sonos fan.

If you’re like me and always read product reviews from real people before splashing out, then you’ll probably be feeling utterly confused as to which wireless speaker to buy. So many conflicting reviews on these things. I was deliberating between the sonos play 5 or the bose soundtouch 30, in the end i followed my gut instinct and went for the bose. Not disappointed at all, in fact over the moon with itit’s attractive and fits right into my interior. It’s really easy to set up, just downloaded the bose app, registered it and away you go. Not had any issues with wifi connection, although i do have a wifi booster anyway. Love the 6 presets and the remote, it’s handy. Those people complaining about too much bass or sound distortion at high volumes, this is rubbish.Sound quality is brilliant, very natural.

Superb sound and great system. Only two issues that are not the end of the world but would be better if sorted: the iphone app is ok but not hte best, keeps having trouble connecting to the system but close the app & reopen & all is ok so not a problem; also it is excellent to have planet rock simultaneously on here & the other soundtouch that we have in another room, but disappointing that it will not relay the aux input to other systems so playing vinyl in one room, cannot be heard in the other – a disappointment as this is one reason we got the system. But the sound quality makes up for all of this.

This is a great piece of kit. Works only with broadband, don’t be mislead its a music player that plays your music via bluetooth or broadband. Sounds great 6 stations to let you setup your digital radio stations. I have gone with spotify this is perfect for my needs, upgrade only works with this box, you can also send your music your listening to, to other devices. Buy through amazon, bose themselves are rubbish, no telephones no customer relations to get any sense from, in fact i thought they were a bum compamy to start with.

Decided a while ago i was going to invest in a decent speaker. Did plenty of research and decided to go for the bose over a few other models. Love the sound and well worth the money.

If always liked bose and recently had the chance to buy a surround sound system for myself. This was a purchase for my dad. Basically a substitute for his old hi-fi. Purchased an ipod touch and have downloaded all his cds onto it. The ipod links directly to the bose via bluetooth. Quote lengthy to set up the app from the apple store but once it’s up and running its just wonderful. He’s over the moon with the sound and easy user interface. Everything you’d expect for a bose system but without the huge price tag.

The audio is fantastic – i actually use this in my kitchen. The audio is fantastic – i actually use this in my kitchen, though it cold easily fill a large room with high quality audio. Don’t get me wrong, i love this unit, but if i could ask bose a couple of questions, they would be:why only 6 presets – why not let the user press a combination of buttons, to have more than 6 ?. Also, on the bose app, the internet radion station search does not reveal all of the available internet stations that you would find if using tunein. There are therefore some stations that i have to play via bluetooth from my iphone, while using the tunein app. That kinda does my head in .

Fantastic speakers but let down by the horrific app that controls them. . Fantastic speakers but let down by the horrific app that controls them. The speakers are really great with amazing sound for the size and once you get it working the internet radio is very good using the presets. The music library really does not work well with wifi and to save yourself constant frustration it is best to select your library on your phone and use the bluetooth connection which works well. If you try and use the presets via the wifi it will keep telling you it cannot find your music, this is due to your computer going into sleep mode or every time you shut it down the library is gonebut, be warned, unless you are quite good with tech stuff you will probably throw the whole thing out through the window after you have restarted your computer/router/device/soundtouch multiple times and gone through 7 different setup scenarios. Plus having some lengthy conversations with the very nice and helpful folk at bose tech help. In all took me about 5 hours to get it set up plus having to return the first one i bought back to the store, (it was a series 2 without bluetooth had to give up and admit defeat after 6 hours). Once set up and running it is excellent and i love it. The question is why does a big reputable company that makes excellent high end products produce an app written by a demented monkey?.Come on bose pay a couple of proper programmers to do a proper job.

This bose soundtouch series iii wireless music system sits at the top of the bose soundtouch range and marks an evolution rather than revolution of a popular range. The key changes to the recently released series iii are that airplay has been dropped in favour of a bluetooth solution, the cabinet finish has been tweaked and i also i believe the price has been reduced too. In the box you get the speaker, mains lead, remote and instructions which are on a massive single sheet – you won’t miss them.To get going you have to register the device by downloading the bose sound touch app and creating an account – this enables you to connect the speaker to your network, be warned, even the bluetooth connectivity won’t work until you’ve done so. The unit also has built in support for deezer and spotify which is welcome. The overall build quality is top notch and my black version features a carbon fibre finish which looks really good, however, the remote, whilst adequate, is not of a commensurate build quality. There is a minimalist control panel on the upper surface of the unit with 6 presets and a discreet display on the front telling you the connection status and which scrolls the track title and artists name. Both installation and operation are slick and simple plus the unit looks really good in situ – minimalist but authoritative and it draws admiring glances. Make no mistake this 30 series model is heavy and fairly large, it is not designed to be a portable system so has no internal battery, however, you are rewarded by an excellent sound.

Great bit of kit, for all you purists no the sound quality isnt as good as seperates, but its fine and the convenience of streaming makes it 5 star.

Amazing around the house as they all link perfectly using. Amazing around the house as they all link perfectly using the app.
