Brilliant way of superseding inadequate television sound. My kitchen television, a samsung 32inch smart model, incorporates truly dreadful sound so i started off with some old jbl creatures ii that offered a vast improvement, before moving onto these bose speakers which have proved to be vastly superior. Tempted by the b+w computer speakers, but deterred by their price and the quantity of soft cloth covering, i opted for spending a fraction of the cost and chose the bose instead. I haven’t been disappointed, simply connecting them to the headphone socket on the back of the television, an arrangement which still functions using the remote control provided by samsung. The speakers offer great clarity for voice and good depth for music without having to resort to a subwoofer to get sufficient bass. They are quite chunky for speakers of this type, being deeper than i expected, but their solid build complements the quality of sound that comes out of them. No, these won’t ever match up to a good pair of bi-wired speakers running off a decent amp, but for their size and the way in which they transform the rubbish sound quality from a flat-screen television, they are excellent value for money. The speakers were well packed for mail-order transit but the packaging was a total nightmare to get into; if there is a way to access the contents without resorting to a pair of tin-snips and a lot of brute force, i failed to find it.
I already own a pair of companion 2 series 2 and so when looking for a pair of speakers for a tv, had no hesitation in ordering these series 3’s. I purchased mine from an audio dealer via the internet for a handy tenner less than amazons current price and received them next day. In comparrison to the series 2, they seem less solid, and the change to a cloth grill does make them look less expensive and even less bose like. I am also disappointed with the inclusion of jack sockets as opposed to the rca phono plugs of old. They are, however, considerably quieter when on with no signal. No more humwhen attached to the audio out of a sky + hd box, there is a considerable lip sync problem even when the delay is altered on the sky box. If this was my only option i would have returned them but i simply changed to the tv’s audio out and this worked perfectly. It is early days in terms of sound quality as fresh out the box the bass does appear a little flabby but i expect this to firm up with use. Mids and highs are similar to the series 2’s and they can be driven loud without distortion.
And haven’t been disappointed. They took me about 5 minutes to. I wasn’t sure what speakers to go for but after looking at the reviews plunged for these, and haven’t been disappointed. They took me about 5 minutes to set up (and no, being a man i did not read the instruction manual). There is a socket on the front to plug in your headphones if you want, and a cable (supplied) to plug into the back of the rhs speaker that you can then connect your phone etc to. The quality of these is superb, and neither are they too big. They feel nice and weighty, and ooze quality. I had a cheap set of speakers before, and i now wonder why i wasted my time and money on them. The sound is very good, and even on full volume there is no distortion, although thw whole house will be able to hear it if you turn them right upall in all – if you are looking for a high quality set of speakers to go on your desk with you pc as you are sick of useless computer/screen speakers, then look no further – get these, you certainly won’t be disappointed.
Excellent clarity and depth in such small speakers. My first impression of the bose companion 2 speaker system was that it was so well packaged up that there’s practically zero chance of damage in transit. Connecting it up was extremely simple – plug into the wall socket, plug left speaker into right speaker, plug into computer’s headphone-out socket. Assuming you remembered to power the computer up, you’re now ready to listen. I could go the long route around this to make the review seem more considered, but honestly the sound on these speakers is just simply excellent – it’s extremely sharp and clear on the high and vocal range and perfectly deep and balanced on the bass, with no vibration or loss of clarity (at least to my ears) at all. I have a varied music collection and it sounds as good listening to daft punk, nero, calvin harris, delerium or sleepthief as it does of monsters and men, lana del rey, r. , radiohead and evanescence. I could hear things in the music i hadn’t heard before.

Stunning sound, best price/quality ratio. I bought these speakers because i had experienced them at friend’s house and i was really amazed how good they sound. At first i looked for a subwoofer in his room, but then i realized that it is only that two little speakers. I heard about people saying that bose are overrated, they have too much bass which is unnatural and price is way too high, but i have to say it is really not true (or at least not for this product). I studied sound, codecs, reviews and i also worked with sound a bit. So i know which qualities has to have good sound. All i can say is that bass frequencies for this speakers are really clear, definitely not exaggerated or somehow corrected to sound unnatural. U can feel bass but it does not harm mids and treble. Everything is crystal clear without distortion and they are not mixed or affected. Speakers are also really amazingly dynamic, you can feel how they can kick and cope with any genre.
What can i add to the already many good reviews about these great compact desktop speaks?well a little tip, don’t listen to them. No, i am not writing a scathing review but just pointing out like many speakers and headphones you need to allow some running in time before making a judgement about the sound quality. I bought a pair for my son to use mainly for gaming, as he was tired of wearing headphones for extended periods. Straight away he was very pleased with them. I did not tell him about how they would get better after being used for a while, as a sort of blind test. After a few days of quite extended use he commented on how they now sounded a lot better and were a match for his expensive astro a50 gaming headset. So don’t critically judge these, or any other speaker, until they have been thoroughly ‘run in’ otherwise you may not be hearing them at their best.
Easy to set up and with simple instructions even i. I didn’t really believe the reviews. I had a pair of desk speakers that came with a new pc and they sounded sort of ok. These give unbelievable rich sound especially looking at the size. Easy to set up and with simple instructions even i could comprehend. Gives you a new appetite for music.
