For the deal price of just a little over £13, this is value for money and surprisingly well made. No cheap plastics but a nice aluminium body. Sound quality as a speaker is surprising good for its dimunitive size, a sharp crisp sound with no noticeable distortion or buzz, the bass is good enough for the size. This comes with partial charge so you can use out of the box, comes with combined usb/aux cable for charging (no plug). The radio is a joke, mine doesn’t work at all but most people will want this as travel speaker anyway. Gimmicky flashing lights can be switched off easily enough.
Sound is good from this speaker. I wasnt expecting to be wowed, just wanted something functional for when i am camping. I bought the easyacc speaker case to hold it in too – so glad i did as the speaker has coloured lights (which dont switch off), and are a little annoying when its dark. The case has a mesh top so sound quality is good when in the case, so now i dont have to bear the annoying lights. If anyone knows how to switch them off, or to turn the volume down on the woman giving instructions, do let me know :).
I must confess i had reservations about purchasing a cheap, mono speaker, but it seemed like a good travel solution and was pleasantly surprised though at how good this was. The build quality was more sturdy than expected – the micro sd card slot is a welcome addition too that i didn’t realise it had at the time of purchase. The volume output is more than you would ever need for a hotel room etc and surprisingly for the size of the speaker, the sound is never muffled. Audiophile it is not but is still extremely acceptable. At three times the price, this would still be good value for money.
Comments from buyers
“The best speaker for its size and price, Good quality sound., Cant go wrong for the price :D”
15 it’s good value for money but i can’t see how it’d ever be worth the full list price of £29. The instructions are poorly written, and even taking that into account are still wrong (the socket that’s marked as aux in in the instructions is actually marked with a headphone symbol on the product, and the aux in function actually appears to be accessed via the included usb cable). The device has an annoying electronic voice that can’t be turned off, and i’ve got no idea how the radio function is meant to work. The bluetooth connectivity did work though. Still, it’s reasonably loud for it’s size. I got around three hours out of it at full volume. It’s loud for it’s size, and the audio quality is good for a device this cheap but still isn’t great in the overall scheme of things.
This product has good audio for its size and plenty of functions, pairing with your phone is very easy, although pairing a second device requires disconnecting the first one. Below average battery life compounded by the use of a switch to turn it on, so if you forget to turn it off, it won’t go on standby or anything. Loud voice response with heavy chinese accent to your selections, which cannot be disabled. Volume always resets itself. The company will nag you repeatedly by email for a review with no opt-out/unsubscribe options. They probably regret that now.
For the money, it isn’t too bad. However, i bought this for my car as a hands free device but the mic is very poor and ultimately, not fit for purpose. Good:the bluetooth connected with out issuesturdy, solid builddescent soundcoloured leds are pretty cooloption to turn led on/off (hold menu button)very user friendlybadradio is hit and missmic is very pooroverall. It is not bad for the money and handy when out working/camping etc but although happy enough, i would prefer x-mini.
Seems like a well made item and nice to look at. The after sales service from betron though is very poor. Had an issue which i hoped they would help with. Wrote an email to them and got no reply. Wrote a second email, got a reply, but useless, like a lot companies today, they obviously do not read the message sent properly. Wrote a third time and got no reply useless after sales service.
On arrival i did not think it would do what i wanted it to do. The sound, is totally awesome. Everyone who has visited me have seen & tried it and have said they want one. It’s reasonably priced a a briiliant stocking filler. I will be purchasing one for my daughter as she loves it too.
This bluetooth speaker works very well, and sounds great; but the voice prompts for ‘change of state’ are much to loud (as far as i can see they can not be turned down in volume), ie. ‘bluetooth connect’, and ‘bluetooth disconnected’, etc. If you use it at night, the prompts can wake you up. I have mailed the manufactories and they are going to pass the comment onto their developers. Also the instructions supplied with it are not that useful, in that they don’t explain how to use all its function. Other than that it is a good product imo.
Great sound from a neat little unit which is heavier than you expect so feels substantial despite small size. It makes a good sound but not very loud just quite loud but good enough for what i want it for. Its not going to be loud enough for a big party or where there is a lot of background noise but if you want to do that buy a bose but for a fraction of the price this is a good little unit for travel.
I am very impressed with the sound clarity on this compact bluetooth speaker. I’m so impressed i’ve ordered two more. One to pair up with my echo dot in the kitchen as i feel it has superior sound quality in comparison. The other one i intend to pair up with my amazon fire tablet while i use my currently purchased one as an extension speaker for my laptop. An awesome little speaker at more than a fair price in my opinion.
Absolutely brilliantly little speaker.Lights up different colours when music is playing. I’m rubbish with electrical stuff but it’s really easy to use, just switch bluetooth on your phone and click on the speaker and voila the music plays straight through it.
I have compared it with a more expensive bluetooth speaker that was 99 pounds and you do notice a quality difference. That said for the price i think it’s the best speaker you can get. It is surprisingly small but works really well and has a noticeable bass as well. I use it every morning just after i wake up to put some music on to start the day and i haven’t noticed any change in battery life after 6 months so far.
This thing is the the closest thing to actual magic i have ever seen. I did not expect a lot, just wanted a wireless speaker to play music. I charged it up for a bit, looked for it in the settings in my iphone, clicked on it and it immediately played music from my phone really beautifully while sitting in the palm of my hand. The sound quality for such a small and easy to use device is very impressive. I love the disc lights toofor this money you cannot go wrongit’s magic. Update: it connects to my mac too. I can now listen to music wirelessly anywhere in my (very small) home.
This speaker is a solid weighty product designed and manufactured to the highest quality with a finish without blemish. The sound quality for its size is commensurate or better than some speakers of a larger nature. Sadly i returned this item due to it not having the bluetooth range that i was looking for. It stated ten meters but after five meters it lost its connectivity. Overall though a great solid product and recommended and if kept close by to your proposed bluetooth tie up then you can expect great sounds and satisfaction.
This a great little speaker and agree with other reviews that sound is very goodi have tested it with a samsung galaxy s2 , tesco hudl and an ostech tablet with no problem on any of the devices. As stated in other reviews the voice announcing each mode as they are selected via the mode button is very loud and very annoying (can anybody hack this it to turn it off). It does seem though that from some of the reviews people are annoyed as they are continually changing modes but i wonder why. I have seen questions asked of how the volume is controlled and the answers been “from the connected device”. This is true when in bluetooth mode but when using the micro sd card the volume is controlled using the plus and minus buttons on the device. One slight shortcoming is there is no indication of the level of battery charge, the speaker just suddenly switches off when the battery becomes empty. I leave it plugged in when using it if possible though on battery it lasts several hours on a full chargei have found that sometimes i need to go into the controlling device and press the speaker name in the list of bluetooth devices before it will connect even if it was paired previously this seems to be true if the speaker has been previously connected to a different device. Mostly it just connects when it senses the device. Another added advantage is being able to use the speaker as “hands free device” to answer phone calls as where i live has a terrible phone signal i could leave the phone on the window sill and have the speaker on my desk. However at the moment i can’t answer the phone by pressing the phone button on the speaker.
Amazing sound from such a tiny speaker. Easy to pair with a phone- clear sound and lasts quite a few hours on a full charge. Just don’t forget to keep your phone within the same room. We only discovered after the party that although you can adjust the volume with the phone, you can make it louder on the actual speaker.
I was really impressed with this little speaker. The sound quality is really good. On a wooden table really gives a nice quality to the music. You can go a good distance from the speaker with your phone and it just carrys on. Only cuts out when walking through doorways if you have thick walls. I’m not to impressed with the radio. Though you can’t really get a good signal where i live anyway. And that’s with the charging cable being used as an airial. And i’m not so keen on the flashing led light show that comes with it. But not to botherd as long as the sound is good.
Great gadget – produces good sound so now we can listen to our music on the go. So far just in the garden but you can charge it up and take it anywhere with you. Links to your phone by bluetooth without problems. Nice and loud – turn your phone to maximum sound and then you can use the betron controls to get the required volume. Also has traditional fm radio and controls on the base if your phone is in your bag and you want to change to next or previous track. Apparently it can channel calls from your phone too but have yet to test that. Lights cycle through all different colours changing every couple of seconds or so. We love this and i would recommend it.
It seems to work well and produces good quality sound. When on maximum volume it can be quite loud (especially considering it’s size). One thing i didn’t know before buying is that there is an automated voice which speaks (in questionable automated english) when you change the settings from bluetooth to aux etc. I know this would have annoyed me as it seems you cannot remove this feature. But thankfully the recipient finds it quite entertaning. I would recommend this based on functionality, plus it looks good and the light ring is pretty neat.
This speaker does just what you want. Easy connectivity, linked easily with my phone and amazon echo and looks pleasingly like a mini version of that system.
Amazing i was doubtful buying this but i’m so pleased the quality and sound is wonderful so good i bought a further 2 for other family members i bought red black and white i love the fact it is portable charge is really good i use mine all day bass is super got it linked to phone and tablet 10/10 what a bargain next day delivery with prime even better buy one you wont regret it ✔.
If you’re expecting something with the room shaking audio of bose soundlink or taotronics 20w speaker you’ll be disappointed but for something that’s less than a tenth the price of bose you get a tiny, lightweight speaker that is solidly built, doesn’t have the tinny pitch of many small speakers and has the best sound of any of its size and price rivals. For anyone who wants a speaker they can pop in a bag for travel or listen round the house it’s ideal and it does get pretty loud without distortion.
I bought this last year and it still works well, i didn’t want to review too soon in case it broke, but it has worked fine for about 7/8 months now. I don’t tend to take it to places with me so, i can’t account for how well it will stand up to getting knocked about in a bag. The voice announcing that the speaker is on or connected to bluetooth is really loud, but it’s a good little speaker for a reasonable price, the voice isn’t a dealbreaker for me.
