With some judicious use of a washing line i’ve managed to convert these speaker stands into a tightrope for teaching my guinea pig cecil the art of highwire walking. It’s much cheaper to buy these items than pay for the official guinea pig tightrope kits that some amazon sellers are charging upwards of £200 for.
Really recommend this product. They look great and are exactly as described. They would have got a 5 star review except for 2 little gripes. Firstly there are no instructions so i had to rely on an on-line manual (recommend screwing on the bottom nut before running the cable up the stands). Secondly, and i don’t know if this was an oversight or not, but there were no bolts included (i have keyhole speakers and needed bolts to fix the supplied screws to the stands). Having said that, when the stands were assembled i was more than happy with them. Am actually considering purchasing another pair for the front speakers.
I am very pleased with these stands, they are solidly built and look good. The base is nice looking glass and the stands are metal. They do come with instructions and a variety of different fittings, including the screws, etc so it was easy to fit my speakers to the stands. The pack also includes a wire to allow you to hook your speaker cable onto and pull it through the stands – a nice touch. The only negative is that the speaker cable exit point in the base doesn’t provide much leeway to the floor so the cables can make the base slightly unsteady. My cables aren’t that thick either so this really is poor design. Once the stands are in place this isn’t too much of a problem but i’ll probably get some additional pads to raise the stands up a little higher.
- Great stands if a little unstable
- Good speaker stands
- Good and useful product
Great stands if a little unstable. I bought these speaker stands for my front home cinema speakers which are a pair of tannoy hts101 satellites. Product arrived promptly and well packaged as usual from amazon. The stands themselves are well made and the glass base is weighty. Assembly is a doddle thanks to the instruction manual and there are a multitude of speaker fixings available with different sized threaded bolts and securing plates, the longest of which covers a multitude of bolt spacings if you have 2 securing points on your speakers like me. All of the fixings i needed for my tannoys were available in the box so no extra purchases needed. Once the speakers were mounted the stands look good in my room. The concealed cable routing is a nice feature although beware with thicker cable. My only gripe is the stability of the stands if they are caught sideways (they will never topple forwards because of the triangular tip on the base). I have the stands set at half height and my speakers weigh in at around 1.
The speaker stands are exactly what i require. My only complaint is that they were delivered to the wrong address. Fortunately, the householder at that address was kind enough to do your delivery man’s job for him.
