2 x MX1 Hifi Speakers in : The Poorer Audiophile’s Pleasure

The poorer audiophile’s pleasure. I have examined these speaker’s with every single genre i have, jazz, classical, opera and region. I am immensely impressed that my mission floorstanders could be changed with these and, although i’ve misplaced some bass (which my neighbours are grateful for) i am certainly delighted that these types of a little outlay brought these a enormous reward. Mission accomplishedmichael.

Totally first class speakers. Listening to them now with internet radio as i write this review. Ordered them on a thur afternoon and they were with me today, monday 7th sept, 2015. So very pleased with the service too well done hifix. I wanted these speakers for my andio-setup in my office/den. Got mission high-end speaker 5. 1 setup in our livingroom for over 11 years and they are still going great. These mx1’s are meant to be budget speaker, but i can honestly vouch they don’t sound budget, infact they are bloody fantasic. I am running them through a sony av system, the str-dn750 which i only just bought, also on amazon.

Bass can be a bit thin straight out the box. But use decent cables and run them in for a few days. Vocals are crystal clear with plenty of top end not too big if you haven’t got much space.
    • I’ve wanted a pair of missions since i was at uni in 1980. Now i have some and am not disappointed. They are ported at the rear, so sound much better spaced out from the wall on brackets, rather than on the shelves my old speakers had lived on.
      • These speakers are awesome the sound is clear and without any distortion i am thrilled with the sound everytime i use them. They are teamed with denon amp and cd player.

Great power, depth and clarity. Six more words are apparently required.

The poorer audiophile’s pleasure. I have tested these speaker’s with every genre i have, jazz, classical, opera and country. I purchased a set of mission mx1 speakers and was impressed at step one, which meant, unwrapping these identical twins from the box. They are nice and heavy, for there size, they are very well designed and constructed. They give a very nice rich sound and with very good range, both upper and lower. The missions have no problem filling up a good size room and these are running off a quality yamaha receiver, which is important (help them out) and it makes for a good solid marriage. I would have no worries recommending these sound units to anyone who wants what i wanted, a budget intro to quality. Make sure you purchase good quality speaker cables. Don’t take the protection covers off, they look better on and believe may even enhance the sound.
    • Small and neat, same as the sound. Having had these for a few weeks , i don’t know whether to be pleased or not. They look great on my mission stands but somehow the sound seems ‘thin’. Perhaps this is because the denon m37-dab mini system i am using is not man enough to drive them (but it was ‘best in class’ and is sold as a package with these speakers elsewhere) or maybe because i am used to seperate amps, cd player etc and the mini-system is less ‘complete’ than seperate components the input is just not what i’m used to. Who knows, all i will say is, listen to the speakers first before buying if you can. They do work but maybe something is missing from the audio range and a comparison is warranted.
